We have an older gelding who tore his ear last year while I was out of state. The vet we had at that time came and treated him and put him on antibiotics (my daughter was at home). My daughter called me on a Sunday and told me that he appeared to have hives and was swelling. We tried to call our vet, but couldn't get anyone to answer. After a lot of phone calls to friends and other vets, we got in touch with IVS, who came out at 11 p.m. on a Sunday and treated our horse. By that time he had swollen so much that he was having trouble breathing and his eyes and nostrils were swollen almost shut. I have no doubt that they saved his life. They handled the situation via long distance and were wonderful!! I would recommend them to anyone and we have now switched. The peace of mind that comes with knowing that they are always available in case of emergency is invaluable.

Two of my horses have been with IVS since I got to this area. We have always received the most respect and care. The greatest praise I can give is a few months back my daughters orphaned baby goat was in distress and we realized that something was seriously wrong. It was a Sunday and I knew we couldn't wait. I call IVS and Heather answered. I explained what was happening and she asked if i could bring him to her. I made the drive and she confirmed our precious Frimsy was not going to make it and was suffering. We made the call to put him down. It was so hard for us, she gave us some time and was so gentle. She actually shared a few tears with us as she seemed to think he was a precious as we did. When it was done we took our boy home and buried him. A few weeks later we received the most beautiful card in the mail from IVS with the Rainbow Bridge poem enclosed. It was the best give we could have received. We needed it at that moment. For a vet to care about a hoofed family member is such a blessing but to share in the grieving process when non animal people wont or just don't is so amazing.

PROS: Just a blessing.
CONS: None

They took us on as clients during an after hours emergency with my 8 yr old daughters new mare when my original vet wouldnt come out. We would have lost this mare if it hadnt been for the wonderful vets and staff at Institute.
They genuinely care about the animals and their owners, they are quick to return calls & nothing ever seems rushed when they are answering questions.
They were also great about coming out on a Sat to check over a mare and her new foal and even took the time to explain each and every thing they were doing.

PROS: great vets, great staff, caring, knowledgable
CONS:

Dr Ipoch and Dr Smith (and the staff) are the best! They are very dependable! I would recommend them to anyone! I have tried several equine vets in this area and none can compare to the treatment they give to the animals or the owners. It's especially nice that they are mobile and also have a hospital type setting when needed. They seem to be able to accommodate many emergency situations.
This is a great group of women to deal with and you can tell these Dr's love what they do!

Dr. Ipoch is just a GREAT vet and she's very very good with the horses she sees. She's extremely knowledgable when it comes to horses. She's got her heart in what she does and if you have problems, and you call her office, when she gets the message she will call you back as soon as she's free to talk if she's busy, or almost right away if she's not. In my experience with her with a sick horse, she would call the next day after the horse was taken care of to see how everything was going and to make sure the horse was doing fine, etc. I don't know of any other vet that would do that. In my experience she made it a point to call back and ask about my horse. I really appreciate that from her. She's a very friendly person, and works very well with the horses she cares for.

PROS: Just a great veterinairy office who has a great vet!!
CONS: There are no cons!
