We discovered this tiny shop quite by accident during a Saturday drive and, being a big fan of thrift stores, I had to stop in. I was surprised at the sheer volume of stuff inside. Clothing for men, women, children and infants - to include shoes and maternity clothes - books, housewares, athletic equipment...the list just goes on and on. Never one to shop for myself when there are baby clothes present, I tackled that section first (and do on every visit), scoring name brand clothes for $1-2 per sleeper or outfit. I've purchased huge stacks of childrens books there for less than $5, and seen many great deals that I managed to talk myself out of and then kicked myself over later.

Curious about the shop's name, I asked the owner during one visit. She informed me that a portion of all the shop's sales goes to local schools - thus, the apple symbol on the windows and the name The Apple Shop. This, of course, makes the shopping that much more appealing, and I visit every weekend that I have the chance.

PROS: Wide variety; great deals; benefits area schools.
CONS: A bit crowded/jumbled.
