If you have other Indian places to goto, go there! This place is a certain 2 star with OK food and OK service. Affordable food and popular dishes is what you will find here.

I am now reminded to read recent reviews of restaurants, and to read more than one to gain a true picture of a restaurant. Went to India Garden at Cary Mall for Saturday lunch buffet and left disgusted. I love Indian food, but the food I tried on the buffet was bland, terribly oily, and the supposed delicious butter chicken was mealy. The raita was not more than just sour, but inedible. Place was empty, atmosphere awkward, and I will never be back. This place apparently had delicious food back in the late 1990s...but I happily paid the 10 dollar buffet fee just to leave the place.

I love eating Indian Food at your place. I enjoy all of the dishes, they are trutly special; the vegetables, the chicken, the rice and bread are just a delight. I love the aromas going on and the delicate flavors of the food. It's hard to pick a favorite dish- I like them all.
I love it when they play music from India, it all adds to the great experience.
I have always found polite people serving and received a great service. A place worth visiting every time!!

There was no one there when i went and the inside is very dated but thought i'd give it a chance. I ordered tomato soup thinking i'd get some exotic spicy soup and it tasted identical to a can of campbell's soup, actually i'm pretty sure that is what i was served.
The tea i ordered was terrible and i ordered chicken korma. The portion was small and it was below average in taste. I mentioned that i did not care for the soup and the waitress said, "well that is what you ordered, tomato soup right? Well, I'm not taking that off the bill", very unprofessional, very disappointed in the food and service, needless to say i will not be going back!

This was my first visit to this restaurant, there was no one there when i arrived (but it was raining so i figured i'd give them a break), this restaurant was very dated inside too.
I ordered tea, raita, naan, tomato soup and the chicken korma. The soup literally tasted like a can of Campbell's soup, actually i'm about 100% sure it was! I told the waitress that I did not care for the soup (i was expecting something either homeade or with exotic spices), she said to me, "You ordered tomoto soup right? I said yes but it was not what i was expecting and she said, well you will still have to pay for it." Very unprofessional in my opinion, so we were off to a bad start..... The Chicken Korma was below average, the portion was small and i was very dissapointed. The tea was lukewarm and tasted awful, i wasn't about to even go the route of returning the tea but just knew there was not going to be any tip involved. Very disappointed in both the food and the service. The only good (or bad) thing was the food came out REALLY fast.....? Good luck!

India Garden is one of my favorite restaurant. I try to come here as often as I can. They always have great food and wonderful service. Their weekend buffets have far more choices then any other Indian restaurants in Cary and their price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place to everyone!!!

I just moved into this area a few months ago and tried out different Indian restaurants in Cary. I came to know about India Garden last Saturday when I came to Cary Town Center Mall. I am so glad I found this restaurant. Their food was excellent and tasted so fresh. My husband and I had dinner buffet and ordered an extra dish form the menu to go. I was very please about the quality of their food, their portion, the price and their service. I would definitely come back to this place and recommend it to my friends as well.

i have been eating at this restaurant for some time now every time i visit Cary. the atmosphere is always very nice and the service is great. but now to the main part: the food. the buffet is really nice because it has a lot of dishes (10 or more), which is much more than most Indian restaurants. the offer a variety of veg and non-veg dishes including butter chicken (yum!!!), lamb curry, veg curry, etc. salad bar and desserts are also included. the price is very reasonable at around $8 (weekdays). they also have the best mango lassi i've had. dishes of the menu are good too and are prepared quickly. highly recommended :-)

I have eaten here 6 or 7 times;yesterday I ate there at dinner time . While eating my veggie Samosas my dinner partner notice a "crawling filthy insect " climbing up the wall. We told our waiter and left !! Needless to say ,I won't be eating there again.
And the waiter just climbed the booth behind us and removed the crawling insect- no offer of apology- until we left. I guess he thought we should have stayed.

We go to this restaurant at least once a month. The menu is extensive especially for vegetarians and the prices are fair judging by the quality of the food. The service is friendly and helpful. This is a great place to eat if you're gluten intolerant.

They had more choices and i loved their butter chicken, goat curry, chana masala, biriyani, and naan bread. if you have not visit in india garden yet, i recommand everyone should go and taste their meal. you will not be disapointed. Their weekday buffet is also cheap and good. They have more varities of dishes in buffet then any other indian restaurants in cary.

Very very highly recommended! Like I said, the menu provides wonderful descriptions and it broken up in an organized fashion to make someone new to Indian cuisine feel much more comfortable with ordering. Many options, especially with appetizers, naan, and smaller dishes. Huge portions are served family style for a good price. Most dishes come with different varieties of main ingredients (chicken, beef, veggie, etc).

While I've been to Indian restaurants with more "ambience," this one by far has the best food & best service. They do galub jamun PERFECTLY. Oh, it is SO delicious. I've tried their samosas, all of the breads, several chicken dishes, and the "happy meal" feast for two. All are fantastic! I have only ever been there on Mondays, and it's always quiet, relaxing, casual. Great place for a low-key week-night date - I recommended it to a couple of my friends who were going out to dinner together for the first time and wanted someplace they could just sit and TALK and have wonderful food. They loved it. I have another group of friends who get together once a month & we've tried several different restaurants over the past couple years - we LOVE this one and now it's the only place we go. Always seated promptly. Easy to find, not far off the freeway, ample parking, attached to the Cary Towne Center Mall.

India Garden is a gem among restaurants. The attentive and thoughtful wait staff is thorough and knowledgeable, and has the ability to explain complex indian cuisine with a minimum of fuss. The chicken vindaloo is sensational in its spiciness, and the garlic nan was perfect to cut the taste.

I would suggest India Garden to anyone who appreciates a fine dining experience without the cost. The average entree is between $10 and $15, and the ambience is serene and peaceful. The service was methodical and constant, and there is never a long wait for a drink refill.

If you haven't tried India Garden, you are missing out on one of the best restaurants for taste and service in the Triangle area.

I know that we're all fond of those grubby hole in the wall Indian restaurants where things are more "authentic", but every once in a while we want some Indian that doesn't make our gastrointestinal tracts ache. India Garden is amazing, the service is fantastic, the wait staff is personable and helpful, everything is clean, and the food is incomparable.

The location is puzzling, but they work it like true artists. Everything about it is charming, and they have vegetarian dishes that make my head spin. When I want Indian I drag my friends all the way to Cary for India Garden and their AMAZING Bhaingan Bhartha. Get it spicy!

Best dining experience since moving here two years ago. Prompt, attentive service; server patiently explained all menu items and made excellent suggestions. The Happy Dinner for two was superb: spicy vegetable samosas to start, followed by plates of hearty lentils, a colorful tandoori platter of chicken and shrimp on sizzling veggies, creamy butter chicken (their most popular dish) that melts in your mouth, perfect rice and a basket of puffy fragrant naan. Dinner was topped off with a dish of cool, silky rice pudding, the perfect ending. Hungry as we were, we still had enough left over for two more meals and our fridge never smelled so good. We are looking forward to the weekday lunch buffets and Friday/Saturday dinner buffets. The India Garden is now our official home restaurant. We expect to return frequently with our family, friends and out-of-town guests. Do NOT miss this place!

I've been a fan of Indian food for 20 years and India Garden satisfies my craving every time. India garden has stepped up their game big time. They have renovated the restaurant giving it a new and improved look. The new menu is amazing and gives a wide variety to choose from! However, one thing still has not changed; the outstanding tasting food. Its a great place to bring the family or even business meetings. The friendly staff makes sure to satisfy the customer by providing our every need. Once I walked into the restaurant my mouth began watering with the deliciouses fumes that filled the air. Without a doubt I recommend their Indo-Chinese. It's the best I've ever had and leaves you wanting more even after loosening up a couple of those buttons to your slacks! Now they even provide free delivery! They sure know how to make our lives easier! I must say that they do speak the truth when they say they are the "King of Indian cuisine".

Amazing food! I am big on Indian cuisine, and I definitely agree that this is one of the best in the area. It's a wonderful place to get a bite. With an informal atmoshphere, you're able to bask in the essence of India. I recently ate there after the renovations; the new changes are great! Not only has the menu improved, but now I can get it delivered! The only unsatisfying thing with the place was the fact that they had not delivered in the past; problem solved! My favorite dish, now, is their Chicken Biryani (I am craving it as I speak), so definitely try that!

I LOVE Indian food and try to find new places to eat in each state or country I visit. In North Carolina, India Garden has the most authentic taste and atmosphere is simply beautiful (hands down). Comparatively, the food and atmosphere are above par. The rice is aromatic, the fish is deliciously spicy, and the lassi was made just right though the vegetable dish was a bit on the greasy side. Overall the service is great (I went on a Wednesday) so it wasn?t overly crowded but I?ve heard it get a bit crowded on the weekends. The staff was really friendly but I wish there were more young, attractive waiters.

I've been going to India Garden since it first opened 1995 and I'm still going today after 12 years. Just recently they have renovated and it looks fantastic! The food is still wonderful and the service is great. There are a variety of choices to choose from their menu. The Butter chicken and the paneer tikka masala was excellent. Chili naan is also a great way to add to the taste. The food was made with al kinds of delicious spices. The waiters are very friendly and know how to make you feel at home. It's also a great place for family gatherings or even business meetings. However the renovation makes the restaurant a whole lot more attractive and romantic. Growing up in India I?ve had my share of Indian food and I know my Indian food and this tastes like home away from home. If you?re craving the best Indian food, go to India Garden! It wont let you down!

the place is not fancy, but you cant beat the price and quality of their lunch buffet! only about $7 with a variety of about 10 hot dishes and a salad bar incl. simple but good desert like rice pudding.

the stuff is really very tasty, especially the vegetable dishes, and i am not really a fan of vegetables!

they also have a dinner buffet on friday and saturday night, but have not tried that yet.

Since I'll be in Cary quite often on business, I have made it a personal quest of mine to seek out all the Indian food restaurants in the area. This one was definitely not one of the best. Firstly, there was no host/hostess and I waited for almost 3 minutes before being seated. Once seated, it took almost 10 minutes before anyone came to even take a drink order. I would have left and went to Suchi right then and there, but they were closed (Monday). I tried to order wine, but it seemed as though they had about 1/2 of what was printed on their drink menu, so I was left with Woodbridge...lovely. My ol' standby's are Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, and Garlic Naan. Both the dishes were just "okay"....the Garlic Naan was absolutely delicious! I suppose everything would have tasted better if I hadn't been so disappointed in their service. Perhaps I caught them on a bad night, but I wasn't overly impressed.

Ok, if you can get over the fact that the place needs remodeling really really bad, the food is awesome! I love the weekend buffet. Ordering off of the menu is good as well. I never really ate Indian Food before being introduced to this place but I must say, it has quickly become close to my heart. The catering is phenomenal!

We like to host parties and end up ordering food from various places. We had a Diwali party at our place and had around fifity plus friends of Indian origin. We order the food from India Garden and I can vauch that it was the best food we received so far. The food was freshly made even though it was busy day and the order was relatively big on a short notice. People loved it and enjoyed the food. The nans were also fresh and could last in same condition for almost two hours after delivery. I will highly recommend these guys for any event in future.

I have gone to India Garden for ten years now. Their food is very good quality and variety. The staff is very friendly. It is by far the best in Cary, if not the triangle. I have eaten Indian in NYC, DC, Philly, Chicago, etc..... This is good quality. People on here that give it bad reviews must be bitter angry people or else they have poor taste.

Pros: great food, friendly staff

We came to this restaurant on a Sunday evening, and it was by far the worst Indian restaurant I have been to in the Triangle area. We didn't get the buffet, because there was only one other group in the restaurant and we assumed it would not be fresh. The menu on the website is false - it didn't have half of those items on it at the restaurant. The papad and naan were the only items we got that tasted right. The malai kofta had a very strange flavor, and the saag paneer was nothing to rave about. Servings were small, and the service was not good either. Will never go back there.

Cons: food, service

India Garden serves excellent Indian cuisine with plenty of options for different palates. It's centrally located in Cary, and parking is never a problem. The service is fantastic, but for the price ($10-15 per person at dinner) I expected larger portions - if I'm paying that much for a meal, I like to have leftovers. Overall, the food was very flavorful and high quality. I can definitely recommend this restaurant as one of my new favorites in town.

India Garden may be the sleeper among them all. The food is more delicately prepared, never heavy. At lunch the buffet is a standout, with nice variety, and the food has a welcome freshness and is always at the proper serving temperature. The staff are attentive and polite, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the facilities are clean and well-kept.
Since there's never a parking problem and the location, at Cary Towne Center, is easily found, there's every reason to make India Garden your regular source for the most rewarding cuisine on the planet.

Pros: easy parking, fine lunch buffet, fine service

Cons: no cons!

The India Garden Restaurant has been in business for 9+ years (as of 2004), and has many loyal customers. I'm one of them. Try it once and you'll become a regular, too. I've never seen such a clean, comfortable (all booth seating), homey yet spacious Indian restaurant. The music is soft and the lighting is low. The core staff is a fixture, and they recognize you when you return. They never rush you but welcome you always. The service is cordial and understated, the atmosphere quiet and comfortable. There's no need to go anywhere else for excellent Indian food. It's superb and varied - so many choices, even goat meat on weekends. The buffets are rich and fresh and the food is to die for. How can anyone criticize this jewel? A jealous competitor, perhaps? Don't mess with the best, mess with the rest! FIVE STARS FOR INDIA GARDEN!

I have several friends and family members who are native Indians and/or have spent large amounts of time in India. Every time they are in town I bring them to India Garden and we have yet to be disappointed.

Recommendations: ask about the food if you're new to Indian food, Happy Dinner (it just keeps coming and coming), naan

I last visited this restaurant 7 months ago and the food we were served was poor. I have eaten food here several times before, each time it was disappointing. With the last dinner my wife and I decided that was enough... not vistied again.

Pros: ok parking, not crowded

I went there for lunch for the first time last week and I thought it was delicious. I am a great fan of rice pudding (kheer) and I thought theirs was probably the best I've ever had.

I went to India Garden before 5pm one day, and they sat us promptly even though they technically weren't open. Decided to try the buffet, and it was good except there weren't many choices, and the food wasn't fanatastic. The atmosphere is moderate, maybe a little be too bright, and our placemats were maps of North Carolina! Overall, the food was decent, but the atmosphere needs some work.

We live in Durham and have eaten in almost all of the Indian restaurants in the Triangle. The India Garden has sophisticated and mouth-watering food---the sweet-sour lamb curry is sweetened with onions and full of flavor; the vegetarian dishes are distinct in ingredients and spicing and not the overcooked mishmash served in many other places; the pakoras are perfectly fried and subtly spiced. Their food isn't greasy or overly salted, common failings in Indian restaurant food hereabouts. India Garden's rice pudding is the best I have ever had---cardamom, almonds and magic.

Worst Indian food I have ever had.
Service was poor too.
No varities in vegetarian food.
Kadhi-pakoda was terrible.
THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING HERE...

We asked an Indian friend where to get good Indian food in the Triangle. He recommended this place or Sitar Indian Palace. We went here because it was closer. Now that we have been to Sitar, we are willing to make the longer drive for better food. The buffet was alright. The food was lukewarm, and there were not a lot of choices. The chutney was good though. The service was lacking. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired.

"OLD IS GOLD"- I really mean this. India Garden is the best of all indian cuisin restaurants in this area. They have maximum experience in this bussiness among all. Their food is excellent and brings serene touch of India in all its tune and flavour. The people running this restaurant are very mild and well behaved. They exactlty represent the authentic Indian way. I could never end up sticking to other restaurants when they are around. This is the best of all Indian restaurants in this area.

I have really enjoyed the hospitality and mouth watering food at the India Garden restaurant. I was excited to know that they serve LUNCH and DINNER buffet too at a very good deal. It has really improved over the past year. I love the food so much that I can eat there everyday at this restaurant. I was in a hurry one day and learned that they also had take outs. It was so easy for me to grab food during my short break.
