My goal is to inform you. This is my account of my experience with this place, through objective statements. I will NOT say about what I personally think about the GMB or it's parent store, Anfesa's. All I will say is I should have not overlooked that if there was ever a problem with this venue is my only recourse would be to deal with the family that runs it; no board like a country club, or management team like a place that has had a populace backing it for years and years. Same management for this store. My purpose now is to make sure no one ends up with the same unnecessary stress I did. I also need to tell my story and you can make your own conclusions why:

Our wedding date was May 28, 2011. We contracted on June 16, 2010 and paid 50% down, plus a $350 cleaning fee + the $500 refundable security deposit. In February we received a letter in the mail claiming that ??due to the rising cost of gas and bad economy? they would be raising alcohol pricing. My first thought was it that this accidentally went out to the wrong person as we contracted well in advance, under much different pricing. The price increase they suggested would bring it from $8 per person UP TO $14. In April we experience issues with bridal portraits, wine selections, flutes we wanted to buy from their jewelry store, minimum bartender hours and lacking communication. In early May we experience issues concerning the rental company arrangements and a GMB request and we had no choice but to pay the rental co an additional $350 same-night pick up fee. On my wedding day neither I nor my planner saw Anfesa or her daughter, who is the coordinator, at my reception. Instead there was a girl named Jessica who served as the coordinator. I never met her. After the wedding we have extreme issues with charges, communication and failure to return my deposit. They claim damages which I have posted pictures of. We even went to court.

Small family run store with bad merchandise policies, customer service and communication. Too risky for me to spend top dollar and be weary after the fact. Nice enough store though.

Buyer Beware must have had an unusual experience from what I have seen. My entire family uses Anfesa's and we have had nothing but great experiences and the staff was extremely kind. Further, Anfesa was very helpful in aiding me in choosing my wife's ring. She gave me a great deal and her prices were the lowest out of any other store that I priced on the east coast! So I completely disagree with Buyer Beware's opinion and I hope that no one takes that person's comment seriously because she is completely wrong. Lastly, she is complaining about the protection plan. The plan insures the saftey of the piece by having it inspected/cleaned every 6 months, and it is a no brainer that the contract you have with Anfesa's is going to be void with another jeweler. This person took more time to make a nasty comment than to have a rational thought about her merchandise.

The staff puts on a nice facade of customer service, but this store is a very poorly run establishment. They do not stand behind their products and offer no guarantees unless you are willing to pay several hundred dollars to purchase their extended warranty plan. This plan is null and void if you so much as think of having your jewelry touched by another establishment or if you miss your 6 month "check up" appointment.

The selection is lacking, the prices are inflated and the owner is very unpleasant. They will nickel and dime you to death and it makes for a very lackluster shopping experience.

Anfesa's is an inviting hometown store that is tucked into a small town strip mall. The environment that has been created for you is warm and inviting with friendly personnel. Not only are the personnel friendly they are truly interested in your likes and dislikes. This is a place you can trust and feel comfortable with getting excited about your jewelery choices. If your searching for jewelery for yourself or others I highly recommend you stop here first!
