I have been to many casino's in the Bahama's, while on cruises, Las Vegas, Tahoe, and Atlantic City. This casino located in the Great Smoky Mountains is a wonderfully best kept secret. Because it is associated with Harrah's Entertainment, we thought it would be good, but It was better than we could imagine. We visited on a Thursday & Friday, in March 2011. Wow, it was great, from the moment the valet clerk welcomed us we were delighted. My Husband & I played in the Poker Room. We met some great people and it was fun to play the digital card game with the human interaction, for me I felt it is the best of both world's. WSOP tournament is going to be in May of this year, and we plan to visit again to be part of the tournament. Our waitresses in the poker area was very friendly, helpful and fast. The Cashier's were friendly and told us about the area attractions, including the Biltmore Estate. We didn't play the slots, but the Black Jack tables were very interesting and the dealer was the most upbeat personality I have ever witnessed at a Black Jack game. We had a great time the area was beautiful and the Biltmore House was a treat to tour and the gardens were just starting to peek with the early spring blossoms. Over all our trip to The Smoky Mountains is a 10.

The people leaving the positive reviews for this Casino had to be either drunk or at the wrong Casino.I urge you people to read all the reviews before you even think about visiting this Casino.People get physically hurt, robbed, and scammed on a daily basis.I have read many very sad incidents happening at this Casino and the Tribal Indians doing nothing absolutely about it,other than giving these patrons a 5 dollar food voucher. And do not have a heart attack at this Casino some one with no teeth in their mouth will try to give you mouth to mouth while reaching for your wallet at the same time. This has to be the most poorly ran Casino ever built. The employees seem miserable and act like they are afraid to speak when you ask them for directions or help of any kind.Yes this place is the sh.. hole of the south. The mountains are pretty but that is it.If you want to see drunk inbred indians this place is for you.

I have worked in the gaming industry in South Carolina when slots were legal. I have played the slots in Gulfport,Ms.,Atlantic City, and on several cruise ships(at least eight). This has got to be the worst place I have ever seen for the games. They DO card for minors very well, but that is about the only positive thing I can say about this place. It is ran by Harrahs so I thought it would be a decent operation...It stinks!!! I have been twice and not impressed at all. I have sat there for at least eight hours bth times and have yet to see anyone win anything I would consider a HALF DECENT pot on anything being played. If you think $25 to $50 is a huge hall then this is the place. .....About the only thing tis place has is you can say you played the slots. It has the worst pay off of any of these places I have ever seen. From Reno,Nevada to deep in the Caribean Sea around St. Martin this place is the tightest joint I have evr been in.I believe they are this way because they have absolutely no oversight from a gaming enforsement agency at all from what I can see. This boils down to a license to steal. They may say they pay back ninety some odd percent, but with no enforcement we are only taking their word for it. It really means if you want to still get scalped go play at this place...It is totslly lcking in any sort of atmosphere and for the most part the operators do not care. They don't need repeat business...if they can keep getting a busload of tourists here and there they can keep their racket going. Like all of these establishments they will tell you only gamble what you can afford to loose. Do yourself a favor....ride through this town quickly and sling your money out the window...Do not stop...You will come out ahead in the long run....Save your vacation dollars and take a cruise. There is nothing here but a wide spot in the woods with a load of shiesters that rip you off.Get one star for not stabbing me in the back on the way out.

Nov 25, 20008 I fell in the lobby near the parking garage . I was going out to get luggage. There was a piece of tile sticking up in the floor and I hooked my toe on it. I had a very nasty fall . Knocked me out, made me black and blue , hurt my hip and knee and broke my rotator cuff in my rt shoulder. They sent a EMT-security guard to take care of me after about 15 minutes of lyiing in the floor. i incurred many Dr. bills and had to have surgery and still not well. They tried to get me to sign a medical release while I was lying on the floor. I would not do that. The EMT stated it was his supervisor's rule. They said they didn't have any coverage and referred my claim to a third party. This 3rd party would not call me back or write to me or contact my lawyer. He had a terrible time. They did me really dirty. I will never go back down there and I am asking all the people that go there to stay away lest you fall and injure yourself. They want you to put your money in the machines but won't give any back.

We are visiting a few miles away and drove up to spend a couple of hours feeding the slots. What we found was an almost empty casino with most (90%) of the quarter and nickle slots out of order. Only found two that would accept the ticket and one of them would not let you select the play mode. Most of the dollar and five dollar slots however seemed to be working. Obviously they dont want the low end slot players like us.

WE WONT BE BACK. IT WASNT WORTH THE HOUR DRIVE. Floor personnel were of no help. The only bright spot was the friendly cashier lady.

Harrahs Cherokee Casino and Hotel is located on a Cherokee Indian Reservation near Gatlinburg, TN. We normaill stay in Gatlinburg and drive over the the casino for a few hours. We have stayed in the hotel before and it is really nice, but there is not much else to do in Cherokee other than the casino. They have a lot of concerts there throughout thre year. They have childcare services at the casino, and they are extremely strict on making sure everyone is over the age of 21. They carded my 27 year old wife! It is nearly impossible to find a machine that is not being played. Go really early in the morning, or really late (after midnight) to actually get a decent machine.
