1 Stars: Service Department SLOW and Expensive (by by BruceinCharlotte at Citysearch)

I have had two cars serviced at this location. Typically cars are not ready when they are supposed to be. I normally drop off the car the day before service and it ussually not ready until 2-3 hours after scheduled pick up time. WHen you attend to pick up car be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes to get your keys and the bill to pay for service. Last time I picked up the car it would not start and the battery was dead because the service technician left the lights on and drained the battery. When they charged the battery they broke the spring on the cargo door in the back of the car. I would not recommend this service department to anyone. It is slow, over-priced and dealership does not value its customers. Unfortunately it is the only dealership in the north end of Charlotte. They are the only catered in town!

1 Stars: Horrible Service at University Volvo (by by sandybeltran at Citysearch)

I have been taking my Volvo to University Volvo for the past couple years and service is typically not great but, they are close. After my experience today I will not be back and would urge anyone looking to buy a Volvo or have one serviced to RUN NOT WALK away from this dealer! I took it in for the 60,000 mile maintenance. The tires needed to be balanced and there were two messages on the dash as well. One saying it was time for service and the other saying the alarm system needed servicing. When they called to say it was ready I had to remind them about the tires (they forgot) and when we got there had to wait 20 min until being greeted. Very different service than what my husband gets a Lexus! We looked past these minor irritations paid and started heading home when we realized the light for the alarm system was still on. We went back and were told we'd have to bring the car back another time to have that addressed and they weren't sure why no one called us to talk about the light. We were not happy and spoke to the Owner who looked at the car and then went back to speak with the technician. When he came back he told us the light had not been on when it was brought in according to the tech. We of course explained it had on for weeks prior but, the owner basically called us liars and said 'why would the technican lie' !!! As you can imagine we were completely shocked and angry by this treatment. At that point I needed to get my husband out of that dealership quickly before the owner said something even more stupid. I will be getting a new Volvo this year and probably one for my daughter when she graduates from college. You can bet we won't be going to University Volvo when we do!!!

5 Stars: Great Experience (by Tina L.)

Out of all of my vehicle purchasing experiences this is my favorite place. The salesman was so great. He explained the car and history of Volvo in detail without being pushy at all. He left us to give us some space and was very nice. It was not the usual cat and mouse game. This is a very classy dealership and I look forward to using them again.

PROS: Very Classy
CONS: None
