Unfortunately, I had a dreadful experience dealing with this rescue organization. My experience began and ended when I contacted the organization regarding one of the pups available for adoption. Anyone contacting this group should be aware that bizarrely they do not take or receive any phone calls, only email. My primary contact was with Meghan. Once we scheduled a time to meet at the farm, I explained that since I was coming alone to an unfamiliar location (I am female), would she mind speaking with me on the phone for a moment so I could confirm exactly who I would be meeting with? Also, I explained that, before we met, I wanted to ask her a few questions about the puppy's temperament, etc. to see if my home would be a good fit for this particular dog. She replied "No", she was too busy to speak on the phone. It seems to me that anyone interested in adopting a dog should be encouraged to ask questions. After all, adopting a pet is a 10-15 year commitment. I am not sure if I caught Meghan on a particularly bad day or if she is generally so rude, but my experience was entirely awful. I would recommend anyone interested in adopting a dog to think twice before contacting this group. There are several other great rescue organizations in the Raleigh/Cary area that are interested in placing animals in loving homes, not just any home.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL BUNCH OF FOLKS!! They most certainly are a saving grace for rescued dogs. We adopted our last dog from them and were extremely happy with the dog and this organization. Keep up the good work and God bless.

I loved the time I spent at Saving Grace. I sent in an application and got a call back in just a couple days. They were really nice. I scheduled my appointment during the week after work. (I like the weekends off myself.) I was there at dinner time, but they were happy to help me and I made a great new friend. She's a sweet little mix breed that I don't know if I would have found if it hadn't been for Saving Grace. The staff was great and gave me some good pointers at how to take care of her even though I've owned dogs all my life. I'm really glad there are places like Saving Grace out there saving hundreds of animals every year!

I contacted the Saving Grace, sent my adoption application with my contact information on a Friday morning -- a staffer did email me back quickly, saying she's have the foster mom get with me for a meeting. First of all even though they're in Wake Forest, the foster mom was all the way in Southern Pines, about 2 hrs. from me. That's something that should be mentioned in their ads. When I didn't hear back from the foster in 24 hrs., I wrote back to the staffer, who sent a pretty rude message stating it's the weekend and if I'm in such a rush, perhaps I should go to a shelter. The dog I was interested in has been with them for at least 4 months, I thought they'd appreciate an adopter, weekend or not. The whole weekend thing was very strange, as that's when most people look to adopt pets. I was never contacted by the foster mom, the dog is still not adopted. Very disappointing and sad for pets that could find a forever home. I would NOT recommend their organization, unless you don't care if you ever get to meet the pet.
