An incident at Bojangles in Apex this morning moved me to write this comment. I am a long time Apex resident and have frequented the restaurant countless times. For a Bojangles, the food is good, but the service has grown increasingly worse and the wings seem to be shrinking. They(the wings) were once huge; now they are, well, a bit anemic. Today's experience tops anything I've ever witnessed in my almost sixty years with regard to customer service. I ordered a biscuit and coffee at the drive thru. When I arrived at the window, I handed the male customer service rep $20.06 to cover the $3.06 cost of my order. He then handed me my food and change and I asked if he had included any cream and sugar. He looked at me very angrily and said "Next time ask when you're at the drive through." I can safely say, I've never encountered such a mean spirited customer service person in any place of business. Rather than a polite reminder, or simply handing me what I requested, I received a hateful lecture. I don't want to distort or embellish this account, but angry does not adequately describe his demeanor. He was mad, and mad enough I was glad he couldn't reach me. I was shocked and told him I did not appreciate his tone of voice. I reminded him that I was a paying customer, had made a reasonable request, and didn't appreciate the rude treatment. He didn't take it well. If looks could kill, I wouldn't be writing this. Then I drove off without counting my change and discovered he had shorted me ten bucks. I parked the car, walked to the window and asked the man for my ten bucks and, after pausing for a minute or so, he reluctantly handed me a ten dollar bill. This event follows what has become a long history of occasional mistakes made by the staff, including giving me the wrong change or food order or both. So, if you go, and this applies to any fast food restaurant, order your cream and sugar with your meal, check your change before you leave the register, and make sure you have the right food before you leave the restaurant. And by the way, I did ask the to see the manager and was told by the rude customer service rep, "I am the manger". It is indeed a far different world than that in which I once lived.
