The staff are kind and friendly but I have been twice now and both times the owner was not nice. Also, she did not honor the 2011 CitiPass coupon the way that it is written. It states 'studio fee waived' for up to 4 people. I was there

I will be a regular! I had a date with a friend to meet there and saw this review (saying it was closed) right before I had to leave. I couldn't get in touch with her so I decided to meet her there so we could go somewhere else. Well,

A friend and I just went this weekend and we found the experience very enjoyable! Yes, it can be rather pricey but we were there for over 2 hours having a great time catching up while doing something creative. Definitely worth the money!

Paint Your Pot has reopened under new management. The store has been redecorated and looks very bright and pleasant. The new owner, Danielle Milner, is wonderful and I would recommend that you revisit the studio.

A Silver Alert has been issued for Mr. Dan (Owner of PYP) who is missing and has cognitive impairment of some sort. Just google "Silver Alert Dan Frazier" and you'll see. Pretty sad....

I had the same experience of going to pick up my piece and seeing they were closed. When I just called, the message said you could come by for pick up on December 2nd (11am-7pm) or the 9th (11-7). They also say if you have any information about where the owner is to call the police.

My fiance and I went on Saturday to Paint-Your-Pot. We had been there before and were looking forward to making something. We pulled up and there is an "Out of Business" sign on the front door and a sign to staff to not open the door. Very sad!

I went w/my kids last saturday & we painted items for Christmas gifts for our family out of town. When I went back to pick them up....the store what "OUT OF BUSINESS" according to the sign on the window & then Dan the owner had wrote a sign "employees please don't let people in.Sorry Dan". I really don't care if they closed, but he didn't even call us to let me pick up my items that I PAID for the week before. Now my poor kids are upset that the stuff they made for "Nana" is gone & they can't get it. What a way to start the Holiday Season!

I have gone to "Paint Your Pot" about 3 times in the past 4 years. Mostly when family are visiting from out of town. Let me start off by saying I have enjoyed doing this activity. But every time I go hear I feel like I am being talked down to by the owner. Asking questions seem to be bothersome to the owner and workers. I wanted to point out that this is only a pottery painting, not art school!!! (And I work as a 3D Artist.)

I was also disturbed by the flirtatious discussion the owner was having with the very young - mostly female staff, giving questionable advice about life and belief on the how the universe works, etc...

The prices are a bit high, with no option to UPS the item to your home in case you live out of town. And don't be late picking up your items!!! Otherwise you will be treated like a criminal.

This place has the feel of a working studio with both a low key manner and an absolute excellence of knowledge for both artists and beginners. As an art teacher I was personally amazed at Dan's ability to work with children and his relationship with his staff who are excellent. This was a joy to witness. People were busy, free to interact with others and learn. the rash of reviews about rudeness upon examination sound like one disgruntled person's malicious nature. I would recommend paint your pot in a heartbeat.

Pros: kid friendly, massive selection, good prices, open late, cool staff

Cons: good to make appointment ahead of time wth small children

I was hesitant to take my kids to paint your pot after reading the other reviews on here, I'm not sure if the owner was having bad days when all of the other people went or if today was just a good day, but he was very polite, very sweet with my kids, everything was explained perfectly and we had a blast! Nice atmosphere and everyone working seemed very willing to help with anything we needed, they had a huge selection... took my kids forever to decide on a piece! We'll be going back again soon! :)

Went to this place during the middle of the day on a weekday with another mom and a total of 3 kids. The ages were a 4-year-old and two 6-year-olds. The lady working obviously doesn't like children: she scolded my 4-year-old for forgetting to shut the bathroom door while going potty, she scolded me forgetting to bring the paint chips back to my table with me, she told us to come to the front, I walked through the cash register area cause she left the door open was rude about that. My purse was on the floor next to my chair while painting, one of the kids kicked it over and I didn't see. Then the lady turns to my friend and says "gee, she just threw her purse all over the place." My friend's daughter picked an intricately detailed dog to paint, my friend's daughter needed help and the lady working made a nasty comment about her mom doing all the work for her. It really was an uncomfortable environment to be in, we went to have fun, our kids were certainly excited but they weren't running through the store past the breakables. They were being kids though back in the younger kid area, and it definitely annoyed the lady working. Why bother putting a play kitchen in the back area if the kids can't make a peep? I had the worse time ever! GO TO CRAZY GLAZE in Fuquay-Varina...much better treatment. The staff is actually kind, and they cater to children!!!!

The staff are usually nice but the owner seems like a ticking time bomb. There are better places to paint pottery.

I took my Brownie Troop here and the owner Dan asked them not to sing or to talk. We were in the back room away from other customers, but if we were "whistling" while we worked, we were asked to stop. There were only 3 other people in the shop. We had 10 girls that were extremely well behaved but were treated as if they were horrible. Dan does not like kids! We will not return.

Not worth your money to be treated so rudely. The guy at the front must assume people would rather be treated poorly than spend a few extra cents driving further to a friendlier establishment. I won't even explain the specifics of the numerous rude issues that came up on my visit, however it is not worth being treated like dirt to go somewhere nearby. I'd have to say the guy is lucky to be in business. I guess he knows there's no competition, since if there were he'd certainly have had to shut down by now!

I cannot remember the last time I've ever been treated so rudely. The owner is unfriendly and seems to be looking for confrontation. Drove 30 mins to Bisque Art in Raleigh and had a wonderful experience. Paint Your Pot does not deserve your hard-earned money.

I found this to be very expensive even with their ridiculous "half off" coupon. I've done plenty of ceramic classses as well as plastercraft, which were a fraction of the cost. Also, though the young staff was eager to help. The owner gentlemen was not at all friendly. It cost me a small fortune for 3 small pieces for me and my 2 children. Definitely not a day out with the kids. Stick with a good movie and some popcorn.

I have been here several times...with family and for a team build. I did not have a good experience. The young staff is kind and helpful, but the older man who I think owns it, is not at all friendly to the clients or his staff. To top it off on the the team build last year, my coworkers piece was broken after having spent 2 hours on it.

Not that I'm sure I've been to all of them. But I never would have visited Paint Your Pot if my local mom's group hadn't suggested holding craft night there. We had a blast! They had a special back room for guests where we were able to bring snacks and even wine. The employees were old hands at explaining the process and I absolutely loved the fact that since we used a coupon, the pricing structure was based on the cost of the piece to be fired. That makes it so much cheaper for slow painters like me. The storekeepers put up with much hilarity and chatter from our back room. I thought the selection of bisque pieces was very comparable to other such shops I'd been to. What fun!
