My husband and I ate at Amedeo's last night and were excited to try a new restaurant. We also made a point to spend our money at a restaurant that was locally owned. \r\n\r\nShortly after being seated, ""one of the owners"" introduced himself to the table of college students behind us. Apparently there were new specials/promotions geared toward attracting college students. While the service from our waitress and the food was good we left with a bad taste in our mouths. Throughout our meal this gentleman spoke to every table around us but never even glanced in our direction. Apparently we were too old. In fact he even stood in front of our table waiting for an opportunity to speak with other tables and never even asked how our meal was or thanked us for choosing to dine there. As we were leaving this same gentleman was standing at the hostess stand and did not even say ""good evening"" or smile in our direction. It was very clear that the owner at Amedeo's did not value our business and because of this we will not be returning.\r\n

My husband, son and I went to Amedeo's last night. Everytime we go, we get the lasagna, which has always been AWESOME! It was horrible! The meat tasted awful and it was dry. \r\n\r\n My child got the kids pizza which had 1/2 to 3/4"" of cheese on it. It was just too much and he didn't eat that, either. \r\n\r\nNot sure what has happened because we have been a couple of times since the new owners bought it and the food was still good. However, it is obvious they have changed the lasagna recipe. If we want Amedeo's lasagna we will have to go to Amedeo's north!

I visited Amedeos last night after having the worse service ever about 2 months prior. I sat in the bar and was waited on by a friendly and entertaining bartender named Laura. Not only was she a great bartender (had the best Long Island Iced tea ever), but she made me comfortable and happy to be there. I had a cheesestak and fries which was unbelievable, but also had such a good laugh. I highly suggest that anyone who loves the bar scene as I do and wants to have great food and service to visit tthe ""NEW"" Amedeos. Maybe I will see you there!!!!!

I have been eating at Amedeos for ten years or more, I have always enjoyed their food. The new owners have really cleaned the place up and the menu has not changed much that I can tell. I have always enjoyed their pizza and the pasts rocks.\r\n\r\nI would recommend this place to anybody, they are family friendly, the bar is a great place to watch sports. Very friendly staff.

Dear Anonymous Ass Hole, \nFirst of all you must not be aware of the newly renovated Amedeo's. My friend and I ate there the other night and the owners were nice enough to let us look around. Not only did I not observe roaches or flies, but I could only hope that all restaurants in Raleigh are as clean as Amedeo's on Western Blvd. \n\nAfter speaking to one of the owners I feel like they are respectful to their employees and their returning, loyal customers. \n\nI have been eating at Amedeo's for 15 years, I'm sure they had their reasons as to why they let this guy go, but this still doesn't make them evil people. \n\nI will continue to eat at Amedeo's for the great food, the friendly atmosphere, and even more so for how the new owners made me feel during my dining experience on March 16th. \n\nAnd I just want to add one more thing, now that they make Eggplant Parmesan with fresh eggplant instead of frozen, I will be eating there more often.\n\np.s. The owners told us that they just took over ownership in February, so how would you know how it is now if you left 5 months ago?! It sounds like you are a pissed off employee and people like you should not be allowed to post things that aren't true.

I am part of the new ownership team and would like to reply to the previous employee review.\nFirst of all, we bought the restaurant literally as it was going out of business and I hope to rekindle the tradition that Amedeos had been known for so many years and of course to make a profit. We also have over 75 years of combined restaurant experience. We have cleaned up the kitchen and re-modeled it. Our food is made fresh and we strive for perfection. Unfortunately there are previous stockholders and employees who are trying desperately to prevent that. We employee over 50 workers who need their jobs and work very hard and do not deserve such a terrible review. I hope you will try it for yourself and not listen to a bunch of sour grapes. I stand by my restaurant and products. If you want a true employee testimonial, ask for our 47 year pizza maker, Lynell.

Amedeos has been around for years and has been a great place. Seems like since they renovated a few things and spruced it up, the quality of food and service has improved also. Glad I gave it another try,

While Amedeo's is chock full of NCSU memorabilia and has decent Italian fare, the service was lacking. Our party of five arrived at 5:40 , and we were not seated until 7 PM - this after two other parties of five were seated before us for some inexplicable reason. We waited patiently and were not rude. The hostess seemed apologetic about our wait, but then continued to seat people who arrived after us, even though they do not take reservations. We were seated in the bar area after this time, where we could be seated at at any time had we known. The bartender then took our orders at around 7:20, and the food arrived at 7:50. The food was good - the veal parm was flavorful and cheesy, but a little tough for veal, the dinner salads were excellent, and the bread -oil- balsamic vinegar combo was very nice. The bartender was polite and as attentive as he could be, but was overworked. The lasagna was excellent. The portions were large and satisfying. The price was nice too - $66 for our party, excluding tip.We will go back for the food, and hope for attention.

I've eaten at Amedeos a good amount of times over the past 10 years. The price of the food and the quality matched each other 10 years ago but now, the prices have gone up and the quality has remained the same. I would say it is a bit overpriced. It is interesting to order the 'choose your pasta and topping' entree because sometimes the topping is not necessarily cooked in with the sauce. I've had angel hair with garlic butter and raw onions sprinkled on top and I've also had a cooked sausage link lain across linguine in alfredo sauce. Oh- and ask about the calamari before you order it. Last time I didn't and it was the thickly sliced, thickly breaded kind that could have been frozen and made you feel like you were chewing a tire. I've always eaten their pasta entrees but the place is so charming, I'll go back to see what their pizza is like, although Frank's is a major contender. Some good choices at Amedeos include the lasagna and pasta primavera.

This is a great place to eat & hang out. The food is delicious & has some of the best drink specials in Raleigh. I've read some of these reviews & can agree that service is not always the best & the manager they did hire did mess things up. But I know for a fact there are people who work there since the good days and are all about saving the place. \n*The management is back to the way it was\n*it is a family owned business!!\n*its fresh homemade food\n*yes changes did have to be made, cause the place did go thru bankruptcy, so we did have to change from the large pour, & free Blue Cheese with everything\n\nI guess I just dont see how people can have 1 lil complaint & swear off the place, maybe read into whats really going on there, maybe ask the people there, instead of reading some random complaint from someone who probably never even worked in a restaurant.\n\nThe place is still great and full of good times, don't believe me come in & check it out, and check it out again if ya are one of these people who has to swear the place off, maybe you were to hasty and did come across that one bad apple.

Atmosphere is the hallmark of this Amedeo's location. It is covered with Wolfpack memorabilia. Booths are named after different coaches. The lasagna is good, but the bread is just so-so. This place can get very crowded at lunch. A bit overpriced, but if you like NSCU and a dark, small booth type restaurant, you will enjoy it.

This is not the Amedeo's I am used to, and I have eaten here for 19 years. The service was absolutely horrible and the food was just as bad. We went 30 minutes without seeing our waiter and not having any water. On top of that, there was a spoiled tomato on the salad, which also had stale croutons that tasted like they were 3 weeks old. The wrong food was brought out, and I had to hunt down a hostess to find our waiter that did not come by our table or the table beside us (they left after about 30 minutes of no service). The waiter gave me attitude when I told him it was the wrong food and didn't even take the empty plates off the table. I sat while the others ate and finally had to ask the hostess to get my food to go. 30 minutes later finally got the food, of course with an attitude and excuses. Got home, tasted the food and it was the frozen ravioli that I used to buy at Harris Teeter, not good. I don't know if they are under new management, ownership, or what, but this is not what it used to be and would not recommend it.

Cons: bad service, bad food

I 've been going to Amedeo's since 1997 . Went with my wife the other night and both of us made a pack not to go back. My lasagna was 3 noodles high barely up to the top of baking dish. It was smootherd in sauce and burnt. 3 meatballs that came from a bag ( no homemade ). My salad had stale croutons that were soft, no crunch.\r\n Talked to the cook, he had a slight attitude when he aproached me. He asked how was your meal. I just said nicely NOT AS GOOD AS IT ONCE WAS and walked out. \r\nA salesman friend stopped in my shop 2 days later and said he wanted to show me a machine on NC States campus and do lunch @ Amedeo's. I easily turned down the lunch part and told him that would be a deal breaker.\r\n Change the name and give up on the so called Italian food. This was a nice landmark and decent place to eat . Call that Gordon fellow and revamp the place!

Cons: Not italian food anymore

We had the worst meal there the other night. How can you possibly burn Lasagna? The service was slow but not horrible. The wait staff must be the JV Basketball team, a bunch of tall guys running in and out of the kitchen. However the girl running the food out wore her mid-back length hair loose. I didn?t have an issue until I saw her playing with it while she was waiting for the next order to come out. I wonder how many hairs made it into the food. We asked to speak to the manager. A 20 something year old guy comes out of the kitchen with an attitude. We will not be going back. I wouldn?t recommend this restaurant to anyone. Try Casalinga on Capital in Mini-City.

I was at Amedeo's after the Miami football game the other day and place was packed. There was so many State fans there from the game, wearing red, it was a lot of fun. Yeah, we had to wait a bit but it was worth it. The food wasn't bad either. I'd recommend it.

I love Italian food but was disappointed with what I got instead. The food wasn't terrible but its not your good true italian food but more of an Americanized version. I was expecting it to be great since it was supposedly family run but it isn't. Pizza was soggy and my girlfriends lasagna was full of water. I definitely feel the reviews of bad service...more of annoyed bartender. Not the best view from the windows in the bar when you are trying to have dinner. The bartender seemed annoyed with us? Maybe having a bad night but overall not really bringing me back and I would say most certain that the food is over priced.

I used to work at amedeos when i was in college at NCSU. one of my old co-workers just sent me a link, so i could read the inexplicable trash and drama that has been written in a form of a resturant review. i worked at amedeos for two years and when i left that establishment, i was still the newest employee. recently, all the employees that had worked at amedeos for a number of years have either quit or been fired. it breaks my heart to read the reviews that have recently been written. when i worked there is was a family resturant and the food has always been a little over priced, but people came in for the atmosphere and service. but, it seems to me that if you want to write a resturant review maybe you should just stick to writing if the pizza is good or if the wait staff was friendly and keep the trash to yourself. if you dont have enough friends to gossip with, i hardly doubt writing an ugly online resturant review will make you feel any better. this is the most ridculous thing i have ever seen in my life.\r\n\r\nthe pizza is good. \r\nand the waitstaff used to be friendly.

It is a sad day when a Raleigh landmark has been reduced to he said, she said reviews on an internet site. Amedeo's has been an incredible establishment for over 40 years. The food is awesome and the memories that the restaurant holds for many people are irreplaceable.

I was just looking through random reviews b/c its my line of work and I just wanted to comment. I have no affiliation with the restaurant or know anyone working there but I will confirm that the person that stated the new manager has been fired from his previous 2 jobs is CORRECT. He also tells people he ran the establishments when he was in fact a ""bouncer"" that got fired once for being lazy and from the other job for stealing. I know everyone in the industry and he does not have a reputable name. You should listen to the bad reviews of that staff, I know for a fact they are true.

Let me start off by saying I am one of the owners sons best childhood friend and the reviews below ""wolfpacker"" are fake! I will swear on my life that is part of the ""new management"" that is making up those ridiculous reviews of that restaurant. You can directly contact me and I will verify the true story behind that place. I'll start off by saying there was never ""bad"" service in that place until recently and anyone who knows the history of Amedeo's and the family knows that the place has taken a complete nose dive. I also grew up knowing Mrs. DeAngelis very closely and she would be disappointed to see the way things are now to say the least. You can write as many reviews as you want ""yoAdrienne"" but it is not going to change the morale of you or anyone else associated. ""yoAdrienne"" is Amedeos new marketing person...let me say from going in there the only marketing going on is completely stripping the place of memories and history and moral character. It is not the employees that are the bad people, it is the management. I got incredibly outraged when I saw her ""fake"" reviews because I KNOW THE TRUTH BEHIND EVERYTHING. Amedeos the creator of the restaurant went in to the establishment only to be told he had to pay for his food after he spent most of his time and energy starting the restaurant. The saddest part of all of the changes is that the ""new"" people do not care about the place...they have no connection with the family and it sickens me the listed person would make comments on the memory of Betty D. when she never even met her. Fake reviews will not bring loyal business back, there is no doubt of that. You can make it a college bar but you will still fail. The true story of the restaurant will come out soon, it is a work in progress. Good things do not happen to bad people, for all the bad they managed to do in a months worth of time, 3times that will come back on you...and you know who you are.\r\n

Pros: food is ok

Cons: everything

.

The only reason they are doing ""kids eat free"" and a magician is because they are that desperate for business. The ""classic-rock"" band they are referring to completely wiped the bar out last weekend b/c they had them set-up to play during the NC State football game, they blocked the entire TV and patrons walked out just as quickly as they did in...and I was there to witness it. That was only after the ""new management"" and ""yoadrienne"" fired old loyal employees for made up excuses so that their friends could bartend instead, that caused the police to have to come to the establishment...that was a real winner. The new bartender, friend of new management smacked his girlfriend in the face that day causing police to have to come and the girl to be taken to the hospital...I'm not sure about you but it doesn't take a genius to figure out who the liars are here. You may bring in business but it won't be the kind ""respectable"" people want to be around. Just a thought.

The last 2 reviews are seriously unbelievable and obviously from someone within. We went in this past week because I had heard an old co-worker of mine was now running the restaurant. My thoughts were confirmed and we have been going there since I was a little girl and because of what I saw, I will never take my family back into that place. The ""new"" manager has already been fired twice from 2 different establishments for stealing and I was in utter shock that someone would put him in charge of such a legacy. I also feel its my duty to let everyone know the place has been taken over with rodients(i'm using that word b/c it wouldn't allow the one I was trying to say). One crawled by our table while we were eating which caused me to waste my dinner and then on our way out we saw ANOTHER one! I'm sorry, I have worked in restaurants before but that is uncalled for and unappealing when you are trying to eat. The service was bad. The server never came back to check us out and we maybe saw her once the entire night. I usually give places a second chance due to poor service but it was really, ""that bad"". My rating and other peoples rating that have been going there for years...would have been a 5, now only a 1 because it made me select something.

Let me start out by saying that this is my first time ever to give a restaurant a 'review' but after eating at Amedeo's on western blvd last week and been craving the food ever since so I figured the least i could do was give them the credit they deserve! My boyfriend and I decided we wanted Italian- typically we go to Olive Garden but we didn't feel like the waiting hours for a table and spending that much money on dinner- we live close to Amedeo's and had never eaten there so we thought we'd give it a try- turned out we picked the right new restaurant!! The host was as sweet as could be, and the wait for a table was less than ten minutes. We ordered the jalapeno poppers as our appitizer - which comes with some sort of jam (which i described as sweet/salty perfection when you mix the two;) I ordered the veal amedeo and my boyfriend ordered a pizza. I did everything short of licking my plate my meal was so good! My boyfriend enjoyed his pizza as well (assuming this b/c he ate all but one slice-which i ate for breakfast the next day;) Anyway, the service at Amedeos was great too (Im a good judge of service considering i waitressed for 3 years while in college) From the moment we were sat to the moment we got our food- i think 30 mins had passed- which was unbelievable considering the amount of people that were eating there that night! We had a drink in the bar after our meal- i loved the ambiance in the bar- Classic Rock playing, NCSU memorbilia all over, cute bartenders, a HUGE movie screen to watch football on, peanuts, and my favorite part-... beer for $2.50! There is NO DOUBT in my mind that my boyfriend and I will be back to Amedeo's in the very near future- I totally recommend this place to EVERYONE! The food is very affordable and serving size is Gi-normous!

I'm shocked at some of the negative reviews I've read here. I'm only been going to Amedos for about 4 1/2 years and I can tell you that, yes I have noticed some changes...but none of them have been negative. \r\nI have two daughters and we go there on Monday nights because they have FREE meals for kids...and they also have a magician that my 5-year old looks forward to seeing every week. We're always greeted kindly and our kids are always made to feel special. You don't get that at other places! \r\nI admit that there have been a couple times (in FOUR and 1/2 years!) there HAVE been times that service wasn't super speedy, but my understanding is due to staff turnaround. Wait staff calls out at the last minute (which happens at a lot of establishments)! I heard from a friend (who actually knows the family) that they have been robbed by employees (caught on camera) and had to fire them. There probably haven't been a lot of the old family members around because they have gotten older and have even passed away. I know this because we attended a fundraising dinner for Breast Cancer in honor of the Mother of the family. \r\nThings change over time, naturally. Just because it wasn't how it ""used to be"" doesn't mean it's a negative thing! I have noticed a lot of positive changes and will continue to eat there and recommend the establishment to my friends and colleagues! In fact, every time we've had family and friends come to town (from NY, Illinois, NJ and etc.) they've always asked to go to Amedeos!! That says a lot. \r\nI love the food and atmosphere, but the one thing that sticks in my mind is how generous the family/restaurant is! They actually ""give back"" to the community that they serve. From FREE meals to kids on Mondays, to sponsoring fundraisers and making donations to organizations, they are a true family restauarant - - no matter how many family members are ""there to greet you like the old days.""!!\r\n

My wife and I have been going to Amedeo's since we were students at NC State. Unfortunately the place has gone downhill over the past few years but we remained faithful patrons. We went in for dinner in the bar last weekend and were horrified at the service and food. The staff in the bar is unprofessional, rude and borderline trashy. Its a shame that the new management has turned a once respectable family establishment into some type of low class bar minus the eye candy. After our last experience we are sad to say that we definitely will not be back. Judging by the lack of familiar faces on either side of the bar it is safe to assume we aren't the only ones who feel this way.

The place has the worse bar serivce in town. Went in the Friday night before the NCSU vs ECU game and waited for 20 minutes trying to get a beer....the girl NEVER asked me would I like anything and had an attitude, we ended up walking out. There were several people complaining around us, wouldn't go there again or suggest it to anyone!

The place is very poorly ran, I do not see how they could still be in business. I absolutely believe all the bankrupcy talk now that I have been in there for myself. The original owners do not have part in the restaurant anymore. If you want the tradition you will have to go to Amedeo's North where the oldest son runs the joint. We had terrible service on Western Blvd. and bad attitudes, which was more from management than that of the help. It's dirty and been completely turned into a college atmosphere. Not good for families and NOT good if you are looking to have good bar service...I would not recommend sitting in the bar. All around, disappointing!

Whomever wrote the review about that place being family owned, its not anymore! The man Amedeo has nothing to do with it anymore which is probably the reason the morale seems to be so low now. I went to eat there recently with some friends and it was completely different. It seemed to be utter chaos. There are no familiar faces anymore. We use to always sit in the room when you 1st come in and were very shocked that the room no longer exist but instead was a tacky curtain?? It was just weird. There is still no management present that I could tell. It use to be a whole different vibe going in there. You use to want to take your families out to eat there, now it seems like more of a high schoolers dream. Half of the servers do not even wear a uniform so you don't know who works there. We sat in the bar and the service was TERRIBLE! The girl never checked on us but seemed more interested in herself than anything. She got our order and drinks and that was it. The foods not even the same and its definitely over priced for that slum. My friend worked there a couple of years ago and it use to be awesome. You can tell its new management and I wouldn't support that place again after my experience. If you knew the story behind the place and what it is now, you wouldn't give them your business.

I went to Amedeo's last week. Our meal was perfect. We had a pizza called the momma d's pizza. It was incredible !!!! The blue cheese dressing is homeade. The dressing was so good that we bought some to take home. I love the rustic look. Raleigh and Cary have way too many chains. you gotta visit this place. It is an old school restaurant. Will go back.

\tHaving come to Raleigh, we were looking for a place with group dining, one of our friends from NC State recommended Amedeo?s so we tried it before we took 25+ people for a Sunday dinner. We were greeted by waitress, who took our drink orders pleasantly. We had been given a bowl of hot bread which tasted very well, but was ruined by the fake butter spread they give you. \r\n\tWe ordered a Hot Antipasto appetizer when our drinks arrived and also place our orders for entree?s at the same time. When our appetizer arrived, it was severely overcooked, the sausage was burnt beyond belief, it was obvious that it stayed in the oven far to long. What was worse was the fact that our entree?s arrived just after the appetizer was set on the table. So the timing was terrible and no one touched the Antipasto at all.\r\n\tWe ordered dinners, a Lasagna, Manicotti and 2 orders of Chicken Parmigiana. The meals arrived very hot, again right out of the oven, but they came in waves. We received two orders first and then the remaining orders about 10 minutes later. The four of us, hardly eat our meals, as the look and taste was just not that enjoyable\r\n\tThe Lasagna was all cheese no pasta and burnt to a crisp on the top. The chicken dinners had the same problem, cooked less this time. But the dish was so watery the breading all came off in the dish and made a mess trying to eat. The Manicotti was the only plate that appeared to be cooked and prepared.\r\n\tWhen we got the check they never asked why we didn't eat anything, they just took it away from teh table, I paid the check and we left; No thanks you - come again, no goodbye. We just walked out with the majority of our meal still on the table and $100 in their cash register. We had 1 appetizer, 4 dinners and 4 cokes, no deserts, no alcohol and basically no food as well.\r\n\tI would stay away from this place, they may have been a nice restaurant once, but they have forget or just don?t care to be a good place. Find something else for dinner.\r\n

What happened to that place? It's a dump. Everyone that works there looked like they had no clue what they were doing. I had heard how terrible it had gotten but was willing to give it another shot and now I understand why they would go bankrupt. I remember going in there and talking to the owner a few times and he was a great guy, not sure where they found the new management but I don't see that place lasting. The food was cold and the service was awful. I asked for a manager and the server went to get some lady that proceeded to laugh and looked like she had a 12 yr olds clothes on. We just got up and left thinking what was the point. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone!!

I should have taken a clue from the nearby tables, everyone had pizza. One of my party had meat ravioli, and I had lasagna. I don't know what to say other than the food was just terrible. The sauce tasted too much like tomato paste, the meat ravioli very plain. The lasagna looked to be assembled and baked in a dish. I've never had good lasagna out where they just put it together, bake it and serve it (the good lasagna comes from places like Maggiano's where they cut a piece of lasagna that was made earlier, where the flavors can gel and give a great piece). The pizza certainly looked good, I wish I had ordered it.

The price of the food is on point for the quality and quanity of the food!

I've been to Amedeo's on several occasion and I must say this resturant has it all. If you just want to pop in and watch the game you can on one of their large flat screen T.V's in the NCSU themed bar. The wings are excellent whether you order the authentic buffalo or the teriyaki they are bothy great! And I know good wings! You can also have a nice romantic dinner for two or bring out the whole family for a great Italian meal. The atmosphere in the dining room is very cozy and warm, especially if you sit by the double sided stone fireplace. The pizza speaks for itself, simply the best I've had in Raliegh. The staff are friendly and make you feel at home. My first time in the owner came to our table to welcome us and seemed sincere in his concern that we were having a pleasant experience. You really feel like you are in a family owned and run resturant. The prices are reasonable especially for the quality of the food. I would recomend Amedeo's North to anyone. And they do have complimentary bread with your meal.

We have gone to this restaurant 3 times. The italian dishes were awful and overpriced. The pizza was great! and that is why we went back. The greek salad would be good but 1- it is a rip off at $10 and 2- they don't even have greek dressing-- what's the point? we didn't feel like family when 2 of the times we went at or before 830 and 3/4 of the chairs were on the tables and they were sweeping up--the stares made us feel like we were intruding- they close at 930! They also swept up right next to our table and then ran the vacuum as we ate- no so friendly if you ask us! Overall we think it is way overpriced but if you go stick with the pizza.

I can't remember every going to an Italian restaurant where bread and salad were not part of your pasta entree. You have to pay $4-5 for bread and order salads at an additional expense. Our waiter was so soft spoken we could not understand what he was saying, we were not advised of any specials and the occupants of the tables froze to death with the gusts of cold air each time the front door was opened. Two tables sitting next to us actually had to eat with their coats on! When we mentioned we were freezing, we were not offered another table, although there were empty tables available. The food was average, although my husband said the lasagna was very good. Even if the food is good, the overall extra costs for salad and bread and the carless attention by staff is not worth it. There are many other Italian restaurants in the area that would be a better choice.

Pros: parking

Cons: pay extra for bread and salad, cold and drafty, wait staff not attentive, food is fair

This place is a dive. It reminds me of some of the dive restaurants back in Pittsburgh. The food is outstanding! The bread they bring out is warm and fresh and soft. Perfect! The service has always been really good. I've had the pasta there before. You can create your own with whatever your heart desires. Their thick crush pizza isn't really that thick. It's perfect! We always end up with leftovers because the pieces are so big and filling! If you are an NC State fan, even better. They want you there!

Amedeo's is one of the best non-generic places to eat near NC State. It does need a renovation, but the food and atmosphere more than make up for anything else. Try the Chicken parm and you won't be sorry. This was a favorite college hangout of mine. I go back every year multiple times. \r\n\r\nIf your looking for a highclass place to wine and dine a date this is not it. If you want a great place eat in a casual setting with alot of freinds, then this is your place. As for some thinking the food is not good, well you just can't make some happy regardless of what you do.

I have worked at many restaurants as cook when I was young. So I definitly differentiate the difference between frozen "" Fake "" pasta dish and the one just made it to an order. None of those stuff they got are fresh. \r\nIts know like best italian in town but its just big ballon.\r\n

This is the kind of Italian-American restaurant I'm used to. Having grown up close to Pittsburgh and being Italian-American, this is the place I come to for my southern Italian pasta or pizza fix. Amedeo is a wonderful person and his family operates the store very well. Rick, one of his boys, seems as though he is always there greeting guests.\r\n\r\nWhile not an N.C. State fan, it has not impacted my visits when I have worn my college's logo. Their pasta is always cooked perfectly, the sauce is like my grandma used to make and their pizzas are phenomenol with plentiful toppings and fresh dough/ingredients.\r\n\r\nThe only downside is the place can be a bit dirty. A complete renovation while keeping all the old phots would do this place wonders.

Or wearing Carolina gear. This was posted by someone on the statefans message board:\r\n\r\n""went to amedeos on friday and spotted a dude wearing a carolina hat in one of the booths. our hostess noticed us looking at the guy and said ""don't worry, the cooks will take care of him"".\r\n\r\nDisgusting. Whether she was joking or not, it was a highly inappropriate comment and I will never eat here again. \r\n

I have been eating at Amedeo's for years. Used to go there several times a month in college. I moved back to the area and took my small daguther last weekend. The service has gone downhill. I waited about 15 minutes until two tables seated after us had their orders taken, then had to ask a waitress to find someone to take our order. The girl seemed like she was too cool to take our order. Once she put it in our food came out pretty fast, but the waitress never came back. Another girl brought the food and refilled our drinks even though she was just a runner. I had to ask a bus boy for a box for my daughters leftovers. We had been done eating for more than 20 minutes and my dad said ""this is crazy. she doesn't want to check on us and is too busy to bring the check we can leave."" We were there more than two hours and only talked to the waitress once. I called the manager the next day and told him we walked out and how disappointed I was. Despite the bad service the food and atmosphere was great.

Having been in the service industry, the reviews of waiting are probably not exact (15 minutes= 1hour). However, the rating is not based solely on service, but also the food. The food at this restaurant is very good, and for the price (in Raleigh), you will probably do no better. This is the Wolfpack pre- and post-game spot, so look nowhere else. Expect a wait when a wait is expected (game-time, although fairly minimal considering the number of customers), and Friday and Saturday evenings (at peak times). Atmosphere represents the soul of NCSU.\r\n

Great and fast service. I swear it is the best blue cheese salad dressing I've ever tasted and I am very critical about my blue cheese. The pasta is out of this world.
