Don't Even Call Them - They'll Want You To Pay

We had called Prairie Veterinary Hospital because our cat was sick. Since it was after hours, we got an answering machine. Just for the "trouble" of calling us back, they charged us $25. They provided no help during the call, and we were told to bring our cat to our regular vet during business hours.
Now, $25 isn't that much, but we didn't feel that we owed them this money just for them to dial a phone. We contested the charge and contacted the BBB. Letters were sent and responses were sent back.
Prairie Veterinary Hospital has now added a $375 "Professional Service Charge" to the original $25 bill, because they had responded to the BBB complaint.
They have now sent us an invoice for $402.00 for making a phone call and typing a letter back to the BBB.
VERY Unprofessional!!
