I brought in four pairs of jeans to be hemmed and a pair of shorts that had a hole in the pocket. It came out to $50. It seemed a little expensive for some pretty simple sewing, but I figured that this is the going price. Two pairs of the jeans were hemmed too short to the point that I can't even wear them; they look ridiculous. She didn't even leave enough material for them to be let down. She also made sure to tell me that she is an "expert" at getting hems right when I told her I'd like to try on all of the jeans so that she gets them just the right length. What a joke. So, now, $50 seems way over priced considering she ruined 2 pairs of jeans. As the previous reviewer noted, the woman who runs the business is pretty short with her customers. She shooed me out quickly probably so I wouldn't try on the jeans and see what an awful job she did, and there was no "thanks for your business" or "sorry I suck at hemming jeans". The place is a mess, but I don't really care. It is clothing. It may be messy, but at least it is not dirty.

I used J Dee Alteration to have a pair of jeans hemmed. I received extremely poor service both when I took the jeans down there and when I called to pick them back up. She was on the phone the entire time she was pinning my jeans. She only spoke to me briefly after pinning the jeans to ask if I liked the length. Then she went back to her phone call. After I changed my clothes and went out to hand her the jeans, she didn't give me a receipt and just pinned a scrap piece of paper with my phone number on it to the jeans. She didn't take down my name and didn't say thank you. I had to ask when they would be ready. The store was a disaster and clothes were thrown all over on shelves and hanging up. She tossed my jeans on a pile of other clothes. No clothes were in bags and they didn't seem to be marked well.

The day that they were to be ready, I called to make sure before driving out there. I asked if my jeans were ready to be picked up and she said yes. Sounds fine right? Except that she didn't ask my name or phone number or anything she just said yes. So I said, "How do you know which pair are my jeans since you didn't ask my name?" She said, "all the jeans are ready". When I went to pick them up, again she was on the phone. She stopped talking to hand me the jeans and take my check but didn't say thank you and again didn't give me a receipt.

When I looked at my jeans, she had used a bright yellow thread (on dark blue denim) and it wasn't a straight hem. On one leg it curved up and the other leg there was a long loop that had been sewn into the fabric. For ten dollars, it was ridiculous.
