Six of had dinner on Sunday, five different menu items. Everyone was delighted with the food; service was amazing, since only one server was doing it all. She was extraordinary, as were the people in the kitchen. I had steak and shrimp, both prepared and presented perfectly. It's a fairly long drive, but I'll be back.

I'm not sure where that guy was eating either but it couldn't have been the Driftwood. For one thing, they don't serve butter wrapped individually. They serve garlic butter and real butter cut from the cube. We live in Omaha and I can't find a steak as good as the Driftwood. It has the most fantastic flavor and is so tender and juicy. Also, the portions are not small at all. The prices compared to most places are very reasonable. It's not a fancy place but it's very clean and the owner and waitstaff are very friendly. We drive over there about once a month.

Don't know where this other guy ate, but it couldn't have been the Driftwood in Blair. Their food is always wonderful, bread is hot, garlic butter not hard nor stuck to paper. They cut their own meats and all their dishes are hand made and delicious. Portions are big--always take some home. Good wine list and full service bar. When weather good can sit on deck and watch river. I really enjoy eating there and would recommend it to anyone. Not real cheap, but not out of price range either. My favorite is ribeye steak---rare!!!

The food wasn't bad but neither was it good when I took a date to the Driftwood. As I have found to be the typical practice of ALL Nebraska restaurants, the bread served with the meal was cold and hard and so was the butter. Speaking of the butter, hard as a rock AFTER you pull the paper off it!!!! In other states even mediocre places had softened butter in a serving dish...not those hard patties of the type served in school cafeterias!!!

The portions of the main meal were small and of mediocre quality. I had the hamburger steak and had to spit out pieces of gristle. The gravy reminded me of that created from powder-in-a-packet and the potatoes were lousy-tasting instant things I can concoct better at home.

The wait staff was typical small-town 'cross-the-holler buffoons whose customer service skills likely come from milking the cow in the morning and slopping the hogs at night. No "class" in this joint. I received better service at the greasy-spoon truck stops I frequented when driving long-haul.

I never returned to this abysmal excuse for a restaurant and wonder how these places stay in business.

PROS: Well, nice view out the dirty window
CONS: lousy over-priced food, lame servers
