If I could give this "business" a negative star rating, that's what it would be. About a year ago, in 2010, we needed to get a second computer for our kids for school. We had an older Gateway computer and wanted the information and pictures transferred off of the hard drive onto the computer this place was "building" for us. We gave them $100.00 down and was told the balance for $97.00 would be due after the job was completed and they had transferred the files from the old hard drive. Come to find out, they never called and several weeks later, my husband went in to the office only to find out nothing had been done and they actually wanted us to pay the balance BEFORE completing the job. Reluctantly, my husband paid up. It was another 2 weeks before we could get a hold of them. The woman who works there was TOTALLY inappropriate and rude. My husband picked up the computer and within 2 months the computer was nonfunctioning. We tried to call them several times, always getting an answering machine or the phone would just ring. We just decided to take it to a more reputable business where we were told we had been "taken." This computer was so poorly put together and the software outdated. Here's the kicker: ALL OF THE PICTURES from the older computer's hard drive were lost. Not one picture was transferred over to the computer's hard drive. The old hard drive from the Gateway had been discarded. My heart broke. PLEASE DO NOT take your computer here or buy a computer from these idiots! They obviously don't know what they are doing and can't be reached. I guess their hours are worse than banker's hours. PLEASE stay away and go to a reputable business!

I took my laptop here to have the hinges repaired. Four months and multiple calls later I had given them $180 dollars for parts and diagnostic and the owner claimed he still could not get the parts. He told me he was going to take the hinges from another laptop in his shop but that the parts charge would not be reduced and promised to have it finished by the following Friday. On Friday it still wasn't finished. My husband went in and demanded the return of my laptop and refund of all charges. They finally complied with reluctance but gave us back my laptop with loose pieces. They did not have a record showing my payment for the diagnostic and promised to refund that as well as long as we signed a waiver of liability when we brought in our receipt as proof of payment. We have not taken in our receipt for refund of diagnostic until we get word back from HP about condition of the laptop. After reading the other negative reviews I should have gone right in and taken my laptop back before they could charge me more money and tear my laptop apart. Stay away from this shop.

My husband took in our laptop b/c of a problem with the power. We received a call back about 2 days later, and was told that not only was there a problem with the power source, but that the memory was going bad from the laptop overheating. She told him that he would need a new computer and she could build him one. She said she would call back with a price, but never called. We had already put down $100.00 toward the cost of the computer and decided to just call it a wash and left them with our original laptop. Now these people are calling being very rude, swearing, yelling, and saying that we still owe them $146.00. I told them that I would pay them the money when they give me my original laptop back. I talked to a man that told me that he still had my computer and would gladly be returned. I told him that I would want him to open the computer in front of me to show me that it had all original parts and he told me he would not do it. My husband later spoke to a lady who said that our computer had been recycled. I told them that we are more than even on our bill b/c of the value of the parts they scavenged off of our laptop-if it was just a problem with the memory and the power, they easily got over $600 in parts! This place should be shut down!!

My mother purchased a computer from them 7 months ago. She recently added a usb mouse to her computer which caused the PC not to run properly. She called Computer Habit and they supposedly 'fixed' the problem and charged her well over $100. When she got the PC home, the same problem occured when she plugged the mouse in. The tech that checked her computer out failed to take the mouse with him to the shop when he looked at the computer and basically repaired nothing. He vacuumed the inside of the PC and ran a simple diagnostic that didn't identify the real problem. The issue was resolved by making a change to the BIOS settings - the PC "tech" at computer habit failed to even perform the most fundamental troubleshooting steps or even take the device causing the problem into his shop. When I confronted him on it and complained (and told him what the actual repair was) all I received was a "thank you" - no offer of refund or even an apology. On top of that, he tried to blame my mother for having a dusty PC and not cleaning it every three months. Beware when using this company. I would not recommend them to ANYONE.

I recently spent some time with the owner and the manager both of Computer Habit, talking about replacing my business and home computers. They had a great deal of knowledge about networking, both wireless and wired. They also offered a great deal of options from repairing my old units to offering quality used units to a brand new computer or laptop WITH A THREE YEAR WARRANTY. Where can you get that anymore. Great people skills guys. Glad to do business with you

I purchased a tower under the previous owner and had a great experience. When the new owner took over, I needed work done - they did pick it up at my home, no charge. I thought the work done was a bit pricey, but paid for it. Due to a series of circumstances, I wasn't able to set everything back up completely for a couple of months but had my laptop to use. When I got around to setting everything back up, discovered several problems - among them inability to get to the BIOS as the USB and many other peripheral ports didn't work. I took it back - they had it at least a week and charged me an outrageous amount again. There was still a problem with the unit when I got it home, but was able to resolve it. The owner has yet to return my call.

I had call for price quotes on a power supply for my PC. They quoted me $109 for a power supply for my e-machines computer 3 years back. I talked to another shop that could get it for $50.

Computer Habit does a great job installing memory on computers, the staff is very knowledgable and doesn't talk down to you at all. They charge a reasonable price for their services and are quite good at troubleshooting problems, also.
