Last month two of my dogs past away. One of them I knew the time was close. He was a 15 years old miniature schnauzer . The other one, a 1 year old maltese, die for unknown reason a few days later. The vet didn't find anything wrong. It was a bad time. Kar Sim worked with me thought the whole cremation for both. I was able to get the right urn for them. And even had my beloved stupid dog engraved right onto the urn. And since I lost both at almost the same time Kar Sim let me work out a payment plan. The staff was great. They sat there and listen to me cry and had many kind words to say. They are worth every penny. Will use them again in the the I hope very far away futuer.
My dog died at the Animal Emergency Clinic. I was told to pick out an urn for his cremains. We did so. The cremains were dropped off at my vet and were were charged $125.00 plus tax and the urn we chose was NOT USED. He came back to us un a cedar box with no name plate, NOT the ceramic urn we had chosen. NOW they do not answer their phone. I want a full refund, what a mess to make such a sad situation worse!!
We have used KarSim for the boarding of our pets, whether for a weekend trip, an unexpected funeral out of town or an occasional two week vacation. We have had no fear that that our pets have been in good hands. If a medical issue arose in our absense, our vet was notified and meds were started if needed. Our dog of 15 years just passed and no question that we are going to KarSim once again for cremation services. They took care of our 17 year old cat after passing and there is no sense in looking elsewhere. Great job, to KarSim.
Nice people, nice price, but ultimately unreliable. Two times I have asked for early drop off for my dog and twice I have been told it would be no problem. Both times when I arrived no one was there, (or at least answered the door), and no one had arrived within a half hour of the drop time. Since I would not ask for such a service without reason, I was severely inconvenienced (missed business meetings) both times. Although I like the staff, and I enjoyed the tour of the kennel, I question the pet care reliability if the staff can't even make a simple drop off time. Sadly, I will be taking my business to a facility that can meet my needs better.
We recently lost our cat Misty to stomach cancer. We went through our pet clinic who uses Kar Sim Kennel for the cremation. My daughter and I picked out urns & name tags for the urns through Kar Sim. The staff there were not only kind and caring during our time of loss, they were helpful in answering questions about the products & instrumental in providing final resting places for our precious Misty. Thank you so much KarSim Kennel for all that you did for our family. Our urns are personalized & the heart cases are beautiful. I highly recommend KarSim.i
I have dealt with Kar Sim's for many years. My dog loves going on her vacation away from the kids. She is excited to see everyone and will walk to the kennel herself. We have left her for as long a 2 weeks and when we come home she smells good and looks great. I even had to switch to the food they feed because she no longer likes what I buy her. The staff spends time with the animals giving them thier attention they need. Thank you Kar sim for caring for her.
5 star!!! Our dog is not a dog while there, he is one of their family. We started going to Karsim after our vet recommended them, and would never leave our dog anywhere else. We've even cancelled a trip because Karsim was full. Our dog starts getting excited the minute we turn down their street and can't wait to get in the door.
We moved here from Seattle and in the process had to board our "big baby" Italian Mastiff. We were referred to this place by Tully's kennel because our dog has an aggression problem and they were not able to handle a dog like this. We took him over there, introduced him to the staff then took him to his "new home for a while". Our dog has since been completely adopted by the entire staff, as well as their female children. He's very protective over any females and will not let a male near them. He has been there for 6 months now. Because of economic reasons we are unable to get him right now, but these people have taken the best care of him and he is right at home. I know they have many other dogs to take care of and I'm not sure about them wiping every dogs behind after they poop, but I do know they have taken care of our dog extremely well, they have given him baths, which I know is a huge chore for him. When I called and couldn't get thru I just leave a message and they ALWAYS have called me back. They even gave me the personal cell phone of the main person that took care of our dog. I have seen and experienced MANY kennels, also, and I agree completely with Anthony G. and Don S. "BEST kennel in town. HANDS DOWN"! AND "PEACE OF MIND WHEN YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THEM BEHIND"! There is much more I can add here about the medical attention and other things these people have done for our dog, but I can guarantee there is NO OTHER KENNEL that would have taken this good of care of a dog. They did alot of things out of the kindness of their hearts, which in this day you will not find anywhere else.
This is our dogs' regular "hotel" and has been for years. We've taken our animals to a lot of boarding services since moving to CB in the 80's. We found Kar Sim and have never had a thought about going anywhere else, nor will we.
The staff is very friendly and obviously cares about animals. The rates are reasonable. The setting is what I call "rustic". Yes, it smells like dogs. I think it's because there are dogs there. Even though our canine kids don't stay more than about once a year or so, I believe they remember the people and the surroundings. They're always eager to leave us behind and go with their old friends to make some new friends - without any hesitation.
When we come to pick them up, they're delirious with joy, of course, but they always lag behind for some last-minute attention from the staff. They're clean, they're healthy and they're happy. They've been exercised, fed, given their meds (one of them) and kenneled next to each other. Hey, it's a sleep-over!
We'll be back - it's a no-brainer. You won't regret using this kennel. And just as important, neither will your pets!

i have a 15 year old schnauzer that i board here regularly. i must say that I've seen a lot of police dogs boarded there often. from multiple counties. IE, dodge, sarpy, cass. i trust my dog to their care weekly at least. as he gets lonely at home an tears up furniture. I also have come to know the workers there an can tell u that they really care about animals. not just dogs. I've been to other kennels but keep coming bk to kar sim for its amazing care they show toward my dog. i have never had a bad experience with them. i will definitely be using them from now on.
They are difficult to reach via phone since they appear to only do call backs. But that's not the important issue... My wife of 5 months and I dropped off our two yorkies for 6 days and 5 nights since I was taking her home for Thanksgiving. They were willing to let the pups stay in the same kennel and I opted for 3 play sessions a day. It all sounded like they'd get along okay. When we picked them up, our little girl was unable to poop because there was so much dried up on her backside. After we washed her up, she was an angry red and it must of been very painful for her. I detected the problem within a minute so I don't see how they could have missed it if they were properly taking care of the pups. Much less if they were also playing with them as we'd paid them to do.

When we acquired our 2nd Siberian Husky we needed to kennel him to go out of town. Our other husky always has a place to stay but the 2nd one couldn't be trusted . Our vet recommended Kar Smis Kennel. I lived in IA at the time but Kar Sims is in Omaha, NE. It says something when your vet recommends a place in another state. From the the first time (7 years ago) to now our husky loves going there and the treatment is 2nd to none. Of course, he gets the condo with ceiling fan and room to roam. When I moved to Omaha, I go even luckier that Kar Sims is close to home. Earlier this year we put the first husky to sleep and the care they gave him at Kar Sims for creamation was touching. My point is they understand and love animals and treat them more than just an animal being bordered. They treat them like guests. I never have a doubt when I go out of town that my dog is treated well and enjoying himself.

I would not go any where else. As soon as I start to go under the bridge Sammie gets really excited and starts barking. Then runs to go inside. It's her home away from home. I bring all of Sammie's toy, her bed, and anything else I want to, and she get to have it with her. I can go back and help set her up for the stay and go back to pick her her. She well feed and well played with. And when it's time to go home I think she would rather stay. It makes me feel good to know that there is someone out there who takes care of them and not just put them back there and want the money.
Pros: Friendly staff.
