They're more interested in chatting on the phone than dealing with walk-in customers. I went into the store this morning and the person behind the counter was on the phone with her eyes looking down. She never acknowledged me or that she would be with me shortly. After waiting about 10 minutes I walked out which, according to the reviews I just read, was probably the best thing for me to do.

Go there, and I promise you'll regret it. Even if it's a couple years later when your dog dies because of some disease from being bred in a puppy mill. And beyond that, they are so, so rude. They don't give a crap about their animals or you.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS.. THEY SUPPORT PUPPY MILLS!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pet Doctor works with pet breeders who are not nice and caring they are facilitate puppy mills.. which is all about MONEY and not the care of the animal.. Do not support a business who is okay with the fact that constantly breeding pups and letting stay in chicken cages for 12 sometimes 24 hours a day with no love and care about there health to be transported to a pet store to be sold to you..

We purchased a cocker spaniel in May of 09. I was leary of pet stores because you always hear not to buy from one. However, I know the vet that takes care of the dogs and checks them out when they come to Pet Doctor in Lincoln and she said the dog I was looking at buying came from a local breeder and was a great little dog. Honey Bear is a fantastic dog, healthy, full of love and life and we can't imagine life without her. Thank goodness I took my daughter in the store that day, just to "look" at puppies.

I have had two very bad experiences with Pet Doctor. My first was about 4 years ago when I went to purchase a ShiPoo for my Grandma who was looking for an indoor dog to keep her company. We love the dog, but after I had paid full price for the dog I was told that she had birthing complications and would be permanently incapable of ever being bred. I was told this AFTER I paid full price for the dog AND had already purchased the animal.

I recently went into the location to see if they had cleaned the place up at all. Indeed, they have not. One of the managers was carrying around a child while she was handing potential clients puppies. When she could no longer carry the infant and the puppies at the same time, she set the child down on the floor completely unattended. Anyone who has been at a pet store knows the floors are not the cleanest place for an infant. Also, a little girl asked to see one of the black labs they had. When the lady brought the lab out, the animal had feces all over it. The lady still presumed to give the animal to the young girl, even though it was covered in dog poop. VERY UNSANITARY. DO NOT PURCHASE UNLESS YOU WANT A HEADACHE.

I Bought a male Guinea pig from the Pet Doctor in November and had him for a few months before I started noticing he was itching quite a bit and I noticed his hair was thinning on his hind end. I contacted Pet Doctor and they told me that it was just like how humans get dandruff in the winter time from the dry air and to get a humidifier. A couple months after that he started going competely bald on his back half. I took him to the vet and found out he had Sarcoptic Mites-a form of mange transferrable to humans(basically scabies)-I almost threw up when the vet told me this. I had to treat him in this nasty sulfuric dip that made the entire house smell like rotten eggs and had to do this every 10 days for 3 treatments-I had had him with a female(that showed no signs of this desiese) for about 40 days and therefore she was pregnant and the vet said that it was nearly impossible for her to not have it if he had it but I could not treat her until the pups were born and atleast 6 weeks old because it could cause reproductive problems. It has been a nightmare and so much extra work. I will never purchase another animals there again.

This was a long time ago, we purchased my first dog a germane shephard from The Pet Doctor. I was only 13 at the time. Everything was great with her, she seemed healthy and happy. I cannot say for sure if she was a puppy mill dog but when she was just 5 1/2 years old she became painfully ill. Turns out she had degenerative mylopothy which is he dog version of MS. The vet said she had been ill for a while but with this disease and the strength dogs have she did not show it until she overworked herself playing and was unable to recover. We had to make the hard decision to put her down not even one week after the diagnosis because she could barely walk and was in so much pain she just laid there. I personally believe she must have been inbred or a puppy mill dog, I have done some research and found that this type of problem is somewhat common in the breed because of the over breeding, inbreeding because of the popularity and demand for the breed. I would not buy another dog from there EVER I would rather buy from a breeder where I can see the condition of the parents or the humane society. It is devastating to have to put your pet down, especially when they are so young.

Whether or not this is a puppy mill it might as well be a goat ranch. I purchased a Boston Terrier that I told was hairless it is not. The dog had tape worms and round worms form the start. I paid $600 for the dog and spent close to $2,000 keeping her alive and getting her healthy. Took a year. When I asked for advice about her health they became very defensive and even accusation. Don't buy from white trash unless you want to save an animal.

Did you know that Nebraska is one of the Puppy Mill states? I bought a very sick dog from the Pet Doctor. She now has lung problems because of how sick she was when she came home. We will have to deal with that as long as she lives. If you buy from a pet store then you are supporting mill dogs. I have talked to many breeders. Good breeders never sell to a pet store because they don't know who the owners will be and how they will be treated. Good breeders go through an adoption process like shelters to make sure they get a good home. Also, most of the things the employees said about my dog are completely false and they have no idea what they are talking about. I have a great dog, but I wish that I had known more about puppy mills before getting her. We are just continuing to pay a lot for a dog that the store paid nothing for.

I work in a vet clinic and we routinely see 1-3 Pet Doctor puppies a week. They are sick, sick, sick little furkids. The clients never walk out the door without a minimum $200 bill to cover the expenses of treatment for whatever illness the new pet has. If you want a mutt aka "designer dog", head on over the humane society, they've got TONS of "designer dogs" that are truly healthy, vaccinated, already fixed, microchipped and will cost you much less.

I've bought 2 over priced mini doxies from this store and both have had serious health issues. One we had to put down. We'll never shop here again - save yourself some heartbreak and find a reputable breeder.

Pet Doctor is the only place I trust to get a good healthy pet!
No matter if it's a kitty, bird, puppy, etc.!!!!!
Our dogs/our little kids, were all bought at Pet Doctor. Healthy, well cared for and with our home training, they turned out to be "PERFECT PETS"!!!
There were "NEVER" any health issues after we brought them home!
Shop around all you want...but, you need to check out this pet store!

The Pet Doctor is not the best example of a pet store. Aside from the moral objection to any store selling animals when there's already a massive overpopulation problem, the shop is usually poorly kept-up and is overcrowded. The last time I was in there, a cage of guinea pigs was being terrified by an enormous white bird lurking overhead. Animals are usually in badly overcrowded conditions, and the care is definitely lacking (water bowls instead of water bottles allow drinking water to be fouled, etc.) I'd definitely avoid this place at all costs and adopt rather than buy.
