David's Bridal

I also am an employee with David's Bridal. I am a consultant and have been for almost 4 years. I am really getting sick of the negative felling that comes with David's Bridal. Just because you have 1 bad experience with 1 person...doesn't make the company bad!
I want to make a few things clear. We do make appointments.....so, if you walk in and can't get in right away.....not our fault! We make appointments so we can try and give good customer service to individual people. Since our store is so big....we get high amounts of traffic which makes it very hard to give everyone the customer service they deserve....hence the appointments. We are a corporation...and corporate says we have to help 2 brides at once...Believe me, I would love to help 1 bride at a time, but we are just too busy for that. So please....when you walk into a David's Bridal...keep in mind you are not the only bride in there....and also the employees are doing the best they can with the customers they are delt!

I work for David's and have for quite some time now. Although I'm not a consultant I'd like to clear a few things up based on these reviews. First, yes, the employees do make mistakes sometimes. Although, we try not to let it happen as much as possible we can't watch them all the time. Next, as far as the rude consultants and unpleasant sales reps we try to weed them out as much as a respectable business can without running into trouble and we're quick to apologize for them. Last, I would like to say that I've heard from a number of different people that their phone number has been solicited. We do NOT by any means "give out" your phone number. It goes into a computer that is shared with other companies (ex. Men's Wearhouse, Mary Kay). However! To prevent getting calls from anyone other than David's Bridal you can check the box on your registration form that states you do not want your number to be shared. Also, you can call any time and we would be glad to block your number from being seen by those other companies.

I only went in to get my bridesmaid dress, and it was quick and painless. All the ladies were helpful and very nice, they grabbed the dress right away and showed me the color and rang me up. I was out of their in 15 min.

I was a little worried by the reviews I had seen but decided to give it a shot anyway. I was so happy with the way I was treated. The women were very nice minus the woman who rang out the sale, she seemed to have no personality. I think that the experience you will have at this store will depend on the attitude you have when you get there. The "bridezillas" are probably the ones who have a bad experience. I love my dress and I tried on many. I would definitely recommend that you shop here. Remember to have a good attitude and maybe your experience will be a great one as well.

My experience was horrible! The consultants did not help me and did not listen to what I wanted at all! I wanted to try on Halter styles and the lady kept bringing me Strapless. So finally my friend went to pull dresses for me. After that, I got no help at all. You get absolutely no personal attention.
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR NUMBER!! They will ask you right away to fill out a card with all your info. This is not necessary unless you are buying your dress with them. I have had numerous telemarketers call me over the last nine months!!
I would recommend Bridal Traditions on West Centre Road. They were very helpful and enthusiastic. They actually help you get into the dresses in a huge room. They have a wide selection with reasonable prices.

I have dealt with David's Bridal for three different weddings, once as the bride and twice as a bridesmaid. For my bridesmaids dresses, they were especially helpful in the alterations department. I had to exchange sizes and have a lot of alterations done but everything turned out beautifully.

I went back many times while shopping for my wedding gown. The only possible negative thing that happened had to do with my bridal consultant. The first time I went in the consultant was a bid strange and pushy. The second time I went in, I found out that my first consultant had left (been fired.) And then another consultant I had ended up quitting. But it really didn't effect my dress shopping at all.

I really liked the dress selection at David's Bridal. I also liked that every single dress style came in a bunch of different sizes. At other bridal shops I had to pin the dress like crazy for it to look even somewhat normal. At David's Bridal I could try on all of the dresses I liked in my size.

We also ordered our wedding invitations through David's Bridal and they turned out lovely. The invitations woman was very helpful and made the process really easy for us.

Overall, I would recommend David's Bridal to future brides.

EDIT - I just read a review posted in February 2008. I'd like to comment on it. If the consultant was bringing you strapless when you wanted halter...it was probably because they can add straps and/or sleeves to just about all of the strapless dresses.

David's Bridal has beautiful dresses to choose from, but i thought the selection was a little slim in both bridal and bridesmaids. The prices of course are great, although alteration pricing is expensive. Although you have a consultant working with you, sometimes they are not always helpful, and are busy with other people because the coorporation is so large. You can buy off the rack if needed, and they will clean and steam your dress for free. I have found some employees make mistakes on order forms, resulting in wrong merchandise arriving. Overall pretty dresses, but not worth the hassle.

I did not have a good experience with this company at all! The sales associates seemes more concerned about getting their comission than they did about helping me. The lady was very snotty and rude.
