I'm very torn about how to rate this business. My husband purchased a sewing machine for me here, and I feel that he got excellent advice as to what sort of machine would be the best bang for our buck based on what sorts of needs I had,. So 5 stars there. That was about 5 or 6 years ago.

In that time, I've needed that machine fixed once (my fault) and a serger fixed twice (also not their fault). Here's where things get a bit sticky. The first two repairs were a bit on the slow side, and a bit on the expensive side. I think they were not overcharged, and the repair person always explained what was wrong, why it had happened, and they were, I think, very up front and not inflating prices in any way. It was the slow part that bothered me. It's been a while, but I want to say it took about a month to get them back. The service was excellent, the repairs were fine, they worked flawlessly. It was just slow. Hmmm...maybe 4 stars? Or 3.5 stars?

And then there was the last time. Most recently, I took my serger in in late February. It took a month to get an estimate, which wasn't ideal by any means, and yes, I'd screwed up something expensive again, but they said it would be done in a few days, so I went ahead. Multiple unreturned phone calls ensued. In June, I went back and picked up my untouched serger to get it fixed elsewhere. I have been told that there were some mitigating circumstances, which I am very sympathetic to...a serious illness or death in the family, I don't know the exact details. But I do feel that if they were going to be unable to do the repair in the time they stated, they should have been up front and said "There was a tragedy, we don't know how long it's going to be, maybe you should take your machine somewhere else until this gets sorted out unless you just don't need it for 5 months." Bad things happen to good people, and I completely would have forgiven that and returned to them next time. As it is, I'm really torn about what to do next time. Are they going to go back to being a bit slow but dependable, or should I just move on? And how many stars do you give someone who's just had a family tragedy??? I wish you didn't have to give a number of stars. But I do. So I'm going with 2, and really hoping that this is just a bump and I'll have a good reason to come back and change that back to a better number.

This guy really knows his vaccums and sewing machines and will tell you the truth and not feed you a line of bull just to get a sale. He sells and repairs vacs and sewing machines. He doesn't go by what is popular, he goes by what is a quality product, and he will tell you if you want to listen.

PROS: Very experienced and knowledgeable..
