Been to this location several times. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful. I was somewhat surprised by the low numbers of used computers available for sale. When I saw the prices on the used computers I wondered why anybody would buy used when, for not that much more, a new higher-powered computer could be bought elsewhere.

I needed an old slow computer to play an old DOS-based game I like. A 486-DX4-100 would be perfect. You can hardly give away that old/slow type of computer. The sales human said he'd dig through the pile of old stuff in the back room and see if something could be thrown together.

I checked in after a few days and was told it would be $90 for a computer I can buy on-line for as little as $10!!!!!! Of course, I'd have to pay shipping buying on-line but.... there's no way anybody with computer knowledge would pay 90 bucks for an old slow computer!!!!!

I can't comprehend how a computer-savvy shopper would do business with a firm wanting so much for used equipment. Maybe there are businesses who buy in volume from stores of this type, thus keeping the business afloat. I have noticed that the store is usually empty when I drive by. Maybe the clientelle is folks who know little to nuthin' about computers.

I suppose this firm fulfills a purpose but as a home computer user knowing the various fundamentals of computing I do not find much value in what Computer Renaissance has to offer. But, the firm MAY be exactly what you need.

PROS: Friendly knowledgeable employees
CONS: Expensive, not much in stock when I was there but can vary
