Amazing
by Sierra F.
One of my favorite places when I get randomly bored. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. And if you watch you can find times when the hourly paint fee thing is down to half price on certain days. Great for kids, and conveniently next door is Ivanna cone, some great homemade icecream that's reasonably priced.

A great place for grandkids!
by Vivi B.
Wow, Paint Yourself Silly is a great adventure for our grandkids. We had a great time -- fun, creative and very helpful (and playful) staff. Compared to taking the kids to a movie, complete with pop and popcorn, I think this place is a bargain. The kids get to express their creativity and actually make something. Unlike lots of activities, they have something to show for the day of fun we had together. To me, Paint Yourself Silly seems like a great investment in family fun!

Paint Yourself Poor
by Ken J.
Quite a pricey activity.I have been to other paint yourself stores throughout the country and this is on the top end of pricey. Look for more reasonably priced activities for your children, they are out there. Sentiment - Avoid.

Haha I love this place because I can PAINT myself SILLY
by Rachel G.
I love this store. All of the employees are nice and they have really good ideas. If I had more time I'd go there everyday. I am glad that there is one close to me now. So every once in a while I can go and relax. Also I hear the kids' parties are a lot of fun and they sure do sound that way.

Jolly good fun
by Mackenzie M.
I think paint yourself silly is an awesome place, it is great for family outings, b-day parties, and for any stopper by. I DISAGREE strongly with Robin on her/his interview sure it is a little high priced but that's how they can keep there shop looking wonderful, and ceramics are not to cheap themselves and is not crammed, its just more seating, I don't think you would want to paint standing, would you? So more seating makes more people happy. And as well you don't have to pay for your pain that's rolled into the hourly fee. Only for puff pain because that is more expensive for Paint Yourself Silly to buy and they don't want to cost themselves to much. THIS IS AN AWESOME PLACE I recommend it for any family, couple, single, or friends!

Best Paint-Your-Own-Pottery Studio Around!
by Kathy B.
I've been to several "paint your own pottery" studios before, and I can say that of all of them Paint Yourself Silly is by far the best. All of the other places felt sterile and uptight, but the atmosphere at Paint Yourself Silly is fun and welcoming. There are so many creative things around the store to get you inspired to paint. When you consider how much work the staff does for you in glazing and firing your piece, the pricing is really quite reasonable (and less expensive than many other studios). If money is still an issue, they do have a half price painting special every Friday. Plus, you get to keep a piece of pottery that you personalized yourself, which is awesome for kids AND adults. Highly recommended!

A great afternoon activity

I brought my whole family here while they were visiting from out of town one weekend. It was so much fun to do something all together, and it's great for everybody (my middle aged parents as well as my two-year-old niece). I don't consider myself very artistic, but the atmosphere was great and I felt very comfortable asking the employees questions. It seemed like it was fairly priced; you get free refills of paint so I didn't think that the hourly price was too high and you don't have to pay extra to get it fired or anything. Its really cool that you can actually use the things that you paint too. My family did a swap, so I've got the coffee mug that my Dad painted, my sister has my masterpiece of a cereal bowl, my Mom got a coffee mug painted by my niece, etc. They even shipped my family's pieces to them in Colorado. All in all a really fun afternoon with my family and a piece of functional artwork for me!

Silly Good Fun
by Lynn M.
Hey all you insiders! Between me and you? I thought this place was awesome! We had my daughter's birthday party here, and it was a great deal. We went on Sunday, so parking wasn't an issue, and we got a package deal. It was $12 per girl, and they loved it. They all painted something they were proud of, the staff was super good about making sure we had as much paint as we needed, and Jenn (the owner) even sang Happy Birthday in pig latin. If we had gone to the Harry Potter movie (which we considered) it would have been just as expensive and they wouldn't have even gotten to talk to each other or have a pretty little treasure to take home.
I snagged a brochure, because we are going to go again sometime soon. I think some people were a little confused, though, because it says that they only charge an hourly fee and they charge for the piece. The paints, the glaze, and the firing fee are all rolled into the 'hourly' fee! (AND if you want to paint a big project, you can stay all day for $12)
Oh, and they had this super cute mirror on the wall. I asked the staff person working about it and she said that one of her co-workers painted it. You can get the mirror, the hand-made back, and they'll assemble it and put on the...wire? I think it had a wire hanger. But they'll put it altogether for like 30 bucks. I don't think that includes the pieces, but we've been talking about making one for the kiddie bathroom.
All in all, it wasn't too expensive, it was really fun, and my daughter has a cute cup with her name on it to rinse her toothpaste out! Yay!

There's always an occasion!
by Sondra L.
When we have some free time, and a reason to celebrate, we love to go to Paint Yourself Silly! It's funny how middle aged people still remember how to stick out their tongue when they paint.

Fun but expensive
by Robin H.
I went to the location in the Hay Market (there's a new one on Pioneers that just opened). Anyway, I am actually from Kansas where we have Pottery with Pizzazz and when I got the PYS, I was sticker shocked. YOu buy your piece, you pay for the paint, and then you also pay by the hour to paint. They do have a great variety of pieces and paints. But you have to pay a dollar extra for puff paint. Also, they have smaller pieces that you can add on to your piece but they are really expensive. All in all, it's fun for a special occasion but for something to do often, too pricey. Oh, and the studio to paint in is really cramped.

This place doesn't fix appliances. It is a business where kids can go and pick out stuff to paint like plates and ceramics and they fire it for you. My daughter loves this place and has lots of fun. It is a good activity for kids, but I thought it was more expensive than it should be. They do parties for kids too.
PROS: Kids like it.
CONS: a little pricey.
