The Zoo Bar is the epitome of a smoky blues bar...loud, crowded, dingy, and absolutely fantastic. If you like live music served up in an authentic blues venue, you cannot afford to miss this local joint. All the blues legends have played the Zoo Bar and they continue to draw from the best young talent on the circuit. When you go, be sure to say hello to Pete, grab a pint of Old Style and get ready to groove to the best blues, rockabilly, R&B, soul and reggae in the Midwest.

The ZOO is a funky old place full of friendly people and great music, everything from world famous to up and coming local legends. The Friday afternoon FAC from 5:00PM to 8:00PM is a great way to unwind from the work week. --gk

PROS: Great music, great people
CONS: Small so get there early to get a seat.

The Zoo Bar is a Lincoln icon and landmark. It is well-known for the extraordinary blues bands it brings in from across the country. It is a long, skinny, dingy, place--perfect for rhythm and blues. There's always a smell of cigarette smoke and spilled beer. Posters of classic blues acts that appeared at the Zoo paper the walls. Other unique types of music--like polka--are featured here too. You can come here with friends, or meander in alone and grab a stool at the bar. Lots of people come alone just to hear the music. The dance floor is small and either crowded or bare. There's usually a long line to the bathroom where you meet new friends, and get a legitimate closer look at the band. Anyone who's anyone in blues knows about the Zoo bar in Lincoln. The Zoo Bar is not a place--it's an experience. Get it.

PROS: Awesome, bonafide, national blues experience
CONS:
