Sucks. My wife joined 15 months ago, but never actually went there to workout. She stopped in Apr 2 to quit, but was told that she would have to pay through May 31 to be allowed to quit. I spoke to some kid at the desk, who reiterated same info, and was adamant that my wife was treated fairly . She went in to sign up for the $10 a month plan, was convinced the $20 a month plan would be better with her rheumatoid arthritis (Bull...). I would reccomend not joining, and if you do go there, watch out for the high pressure sales crap. There's a reason they only rate 2 stars (and that appears be the result of 2 happy campers (both probably employees). there are many better and more honest facilities in Omaha; don't waste your $$.

I signed up a year of contract with $21 per month so I can get 2 sessions of free trainings. When I first came for my training, they made me waited 35 min. I went to the trainer's office, he said "yells" I'm just too busy, no time to talk now. I left and requested another appointment but never heard anything. The front people told me the trainers are contracted with the facilities and they have no control with the trainers. I decided to cancell my membership because they failed to honor their promise, but they said I had to pay $50 plus tax to cancell and since it wasn't 30 days of notice, i had to pay another $21 for next month. So I went once, paid 2 $21 and $50 (all plus tax) to get out there. I even spoke with the owner (a fat guy) and he said we can't control our trainers you don't have to be trained but can still use the gym. What? after the way they treated me and they think I would stay and use the gym. I'm going to tell every person I know not to use the gym. I would never get my hundred dollar back but they won't make that thousand they could, lose & lose= win for me.

First of all I want to be fair about this. Golds gym is a fair value at $10 a month plus a $30 once a year fee. Problems only arise when your method of payment needs to be changed. I had lost a credit card and had to have a new one issued. Of course I had to wait for the new one before I could give them the new card number. Everything necessitates coming in to take care of the change, which can be a pain in the butt if you are busy. Anyway I got that cleared up. About 6 months later my bank changed my credit card from a Master Card to a Visa with a change in the number ensuing. I just never really thought about it but of course Golds charges were getting declined. 3 declines before they bothered to mention it to me. Since you have to sign in when you arrive they should have told me about the problem earlier. Instead the let the declines continue. MORE MONEY FOR THEM that way. I dropped the membership immediately. I think they could have dropped several of the fees since they never bothered to contact me about the declines for some time.

This place is the bottom of the barrel. Cheap memberships mirror the quality of the gym. The locker rooms are out dated and filthy. The showers are the worst I have ever seen. The womens locker room is just as bad according to female members. They boast about having new equipment but its not very good. You can get unlimited tanning but the beds are disgusting and NEVER cleaned by the staff. The only upside this gym has is a tv on all the cardio equipment......if the tv actually works. And the icing on the cake is the lack of customer service this place has. Specifically from the owner who the employees and managers say is a lunatic. All this applies to both locations in town. First time exercisers are welcome anywhere, dont believe the hype that Golds spews to get you in the door. Plenty of better gyms are out there and Golds shouldnt even be considered.

The gym itself isn't horrible, but Customer Service is what it's about these days, and Gold's definitely doesn't have it going on. When I signed up, it was like they didn't even care that I was joining. No real welcome. I went about 5 times when I started and payed for roughly a year. Sometime in between then I moved and forgot about my membership... They would not cancel over the phone, and told me that I had to come in or send a certified letter to cancel. I don't have time to send a real letter... Is this not the E-Mail generation? I got the owners contact info, and he was just as childish as the manager I spoke to. He did not even acknowledge one thing I said in my email. He just restated the policy and basically told me to screw off. He even had the nerve to comment on how in the amount of time I spent on the phone and the email, I could have written a letter. Time is an issue, but theres principal too. I guess I'm just gonna have to take some extra time to go buy a stamp and send a certified letter. But beware, should you sign up and have any concerns at all, do not expect them to be resolved.

1st of all italian mamma.....that is the worst list of complaints i think ive EVER heard in my life.....do you have nothing better to do but just complain about random crap that really isnt a big deal? do you really have nothing better to say? cus thats the worst thing ive ever heard. if your too much of a puss to just go to a gym for cheap and lift lose weight and be healthy...what a gym is ALLLLL about. who the hell cares if the staff isnt nice or w.e your problem is. the only thing you should be concerned about is losing weight or w.e your there for...or in other words MOTIVATION! get the job done and leave and dont complain. as long as they have weights and its cheaper then every gym out there then who the hell cares!!

This gym absolutely SUCKS! Oh wow they have a womens section but they staff makes you feel like crap from their rudeness! When I went in for a tour they made me agree to some stupid rules and if I didnt agree to one of them she told me she could not finish the tour! WOW really! One of the rules still has me cracking up was," do you agree to say hi and bye to all staff members everytime you walk in and out?" Wait a minute, should that be the other way around, shouldn't you be saying hi and bye to me each time I walk in or leave! Not to mention I think its lovely that the staff talks meanly about other staff to the member! The place is super crowded and its obvious they are trying to get rid of all their heavy lifters! Oh and you cant wear cut off shirts! The sauna is way to hot and after letting them know they did nothing but look at me like i was speaking a different language unknown to earth! I don't know who the hell this gym thinks they are but 7 days was plenty enough for me to be completely done with this gym for ever! If you like over crowded rude gyms with THE WORST customer service then I'd say this place is for you! If not then DO NO waste your time, it is not worth the $10mth! Spend it on gas to go to another gym!

Wow, very poor service and the management is terrible to deal with. They believe in profit first, customer service second. They will pack as many people in as they can with their $10 per month deal, no matter how packed or uncomfortable it gets for members. I would stay far, far away.

Was a nice place when I was there. Helpful staff and was able to work out without feeling pressured. Had womens section where could focus without all the men wandering to and fro.

I've had to have 8 surgeries since then on what they call a Staff Infection open sore that developed only after I left Gold's Gym's public hot tub which I was later told had not been cleaned for 3 weeks.

PROS: One a year, they offer free snacks & tanning.
CONS: They don't clean their equiptment & Tina Marie harasses people!

This is an excellent gym if you are in the market for a new membership. They have all the best equipment, plenty of weights, cardio and other various machines. Definitely everything you would need to build a better body, plus access to great personal trainers. They also have a women's only section which is a very nice amenity.

PROS: Plenty of equipment, women's section.
