I love the Old Market and now I have another reason to go there. If you go on Tuesdays they have half priced bottles of wine. Try the bananas fargo for dessert!

I have lived in Omaha for two years, yet just last week, we had the pleasure of stumbling upon Stokes in Old Market. We were with my in-laws and our two young girls. The atmosphere was great. Our waitress was so friendly and accomodating (especially because we had the kids with us). I can't speak for every one else's meal, but mine was divine. I had their roasted corn chowder and shared the "almost famouse" enchiladas with my mother in law. The food was so good that I was still thinking about it days later.

The location is in a strip mall so not that appealling but inside it is comfortable. The decore is nice. The service is normally excellent. The food is out of this world. I would recommend the sampler platter. It contains a Sharons encilada, steak and mushroom enchilada and a chili rejeno. The Sharons and Steak enchilladas are excellent. I have never had anything like either of them. It is a must experience. The price is very good. This is now our favorite restuarant in the area (Nebraska and Iowa). My wife and I try lots of restuarants just for fun and so far this is the only restuarant in Omaha that I would recommend.

Pros: Exellent food for a very good price

Cons: Location could be better but I will still keep going here

Had an awesome dinner last night! I had the Omaha Steaks filet and my wife had the Sharron's chicken enchilada. We had a bottle of wine since it was 1/2 price bottle wine night (Tuesday's). They have a great wine list with a lot of wines you can't find anywhere else. I'd definitely recommend it. You can check out their wine list or menu at www.restaurantsinc.net/stokes_grill_bar.html.

I have never had a bad meal at Stokes ... as a matter of fact, they are always consistent in the quality and presentation. I love, love, LOVE the tortilla soup! Have had this in many different parts of the country, but this one I love the most. Too bad I don't live in the area any longer ... it's one of the parts of Omaha I miss the most!! Excellent food and atmosphere!

Pros: Great tasting food.

Cons: It's in a strip mall. Takes a little away from the ambiance.

This is one of my favorites in Omaha. The food is "Southwestern", but it is not your ordinanary americanized tacos and burritos. The flavors are all so wonderful in all menu items. The menu includes chicken enchiladas, wrapped fire, the Dos Equis filet, portabello cap tostada, grilled chicken, salads, etc. The sauces are creative. I love spicy food, and there are some great finds here. There are plenty of options for those who don't though (enchiladas....so good.)

The atmosphere is perfect. It is dimly lit enough to feel special, decorated in a contemporary southwestern manner, it isn't too big or small and not too crowded (but full on weekend nights enough to make a reservation).

The prices are right for what you get. They range from $8-30 - with the bulk of entrees being 10-16. Get the chips and guacamole, and get the Bananas Fargo desert.

Wine selection is great.
