They single handedly ruined my credit. I had one late payment and they changed my interest rate to 31%. I had a $10,000 credit limit at this point...so instead of paying 31% on the balance, I sent them $7,000 cash. So, they lowered my credit limit to $2,000, and said I had gone over my credit limit. After I paid them I should have had $8,000 left in 'revolving credit' - but since they reduced my limit - I had no revolving credit. My credit score dropped 300 points(for having 'no revolving credit') and I've been screwed ever since. Every other creditor raised my interest rates, I can't get a car loan, can't refinance, can't change jobs, can't even change auto insurance. Thanks a lot First National for ruining my life.

In response to another review here, I had the same thing happen with my credit card-or, I should say, ALMOST happen. Bank of the West caught the charge and questioned it, catching it before it occured-and not even one person showed me an attitude. Bank of the West is also convenient, except it hasn't completely monopolized Omaha. They offer a great 24 hour banking. However, their website is so user friendly, I rarely need to make a phone call. When I was first starting our local film company, we were completely self-financed. This was eight years ago. Businesses were, basically, ignorant when it came to a local film business. Border's bookstore carried local music, but didn't know what to do with a local DVD, for example (sounds pretty much as silly now as it did then). Being self-financed, we only had the financing when we could raise the funds, of course. In between, there was little cash available. I stopped into First National to consider starting an account. They told me that I would have to open it with $1,000.00 and that this was the minimum necessary to keep the account. I explained what we were doing. The lady repeated herself. I went directly to Commercial Federal/Bank of the West and opened the account. Today, Bank of the West still offers a business account as they do a personal one, with no minimum requirements. Also, having become a success on the film scene, that $1,000.00 is not even a small percentage of our account now.

Have been a customer for years. I called to ask for a better interest rate than the 29% they had me at and the rep suggested I pay off my card that was maxed out first, then call back and the bank may do something. So I cut a check for close to $17,000 and paid it off completely. I then called back as suggested and in fact they did reduce it to 15%.
But they also asked me if I received a letter regarding my account being put on hold for 6 months and I said no. I was then told that my charging privileges had been taken from me for 6 months because I had a ??high utilization account?.
So I send them a check for $17,000 and paid my card off completely and in return they take my card from me. To add insult, I am traveling and this is my only bank card. Thank you Fist National. Thank you for taking my credit card away for 6 months I guess to punish me? What customer service. Awesome. Your too big to fail but us little people out here, we will just keep living, fighting, and doing things the right way with hard work. I don??t need you and I hope customers will think twice before doing business with you. FNB makes me sick to my Stomach ...

We bank at First National and will continue business with them for many years to come. They are always available to take my calls with the 24 hour customer service lines, and have many branches and ATM locations accross the city. When are credit card number was stolen, they were there to help us, and credited our account back the money we lost. Other than one snotty guy during that process, they made it very easy for us get through it. They are a local bank that really shows that they care about their customers.
