Reviews for Canine Consultants & Pet Supl

Ratings_icons A great local experience for dog people

Janet C.

This is a locally-owned pet store where service and quality products are provided. The resident cat (and sometimes a dog or two) will greet you.

My dog went through training, and I also buy food and supplies there. Group class may cost more than at a big box chain, but members love their dogs. I recently attended a Humane Society fund-raiser where other "students" were there.

Trevor was carrying high quality holistic foods before food recalls made pet owners realize that they should be concerned about what's in their pet's food. Staff is very knowledgeable and can answer questions about the products that they carry.

While the prices may be a bit higher, I think it's worth it to spend money with a locally-owned store that provides good service.

Ratings_icons A great value

Donna M.

Canine consultants are outstanding. We trained our dog 8 years ago (and Trevor trained us...). Heading back under the lifetime training (paid then, it's still included now) as we have a crawling baby now& some new concerns. We have consistently always been given compliments on our dog's behavior in public, and it's been nice to have a well trained dog that you can take to crowded public places with confidence.

It was well worth the money and I think it is a great value. If you care about your pet, make the extra investment. You'll enjoy your time together all the more.

We used the pinch collar as our dog is very large. We didn't find it inhumane at all...do what works for you.

Ratings_icons Loved the Trainer

Amanda B.

Trevor was just wonderful. Make sure that you don't buy the choke chains or pinch collars because they are not humane. They worked faster, but it could have killed our dog. We learned that a little more time and patience, our dog did just fine. Great tips! Reward based (not like Cesar Milan) and my dog loved going. Plus, they do have a flat fee for unlimited sessions. It was a great place. Plus, they only carry the food that is rated highly. Don't have to worry about getting the wrong stuff.

Canine Consultants & Pet Supply offers a variety of products and services. It is well known for it's outstanding dog obedience classes and training. It is fairly expensive, but they offer a guarantee and lifetime services. So, over the life of your dog, if obedience or behavior problems pop up, you can go back to classes or get advice. Canine Consultants & Pet Supply does offer residential training with dogs, and owners. I.E., if you have some unusual circumstances, like an elderly or injured or disabled owner, they will take that dog home with them and teach it the fundamentals of training for several weeks, and then work with the owner and the dog together. They also offer quality kennel services for the dogs that they have trained.

PROS: Residential training with dogs
CONS: Pricey, but worth it
