DO NOT RECOMMEND! The campground owners house has a 4 ft tall rotted fence with a hole at the bottom holding in 3 dangerous dogs. When my family and I were walking to the store for ice, we approached the house because it has paved pathways to the store one behind and to the side. When we saw the dogs and how dangerous the situation looked we took a right to the side of the house by the park where there were kids playing. We heard the break of a fence and a Huskey dog came out at my family (3kids) and attacked our Chihuahua. He begun to try to kill my dog out front of my kids and others when my husband hit him in the head with his beer causing the dog to drop him. My husband chased him off with a piece of wood the owner had on the side of his house. The owners response was what do you want me to do? We had to call the cops as he had no remorse for what happened to my family. We were all traumatized by what happened. We left the next day and had to ask to be compensated for the day we left early. The owner hesitated but did compensate us for the one night we did not stay. He never came to our site to make sure my family was ok. He does not care about the families safety and if they are happy. DO NOT CAMP THERE!!!
This is a great family campground. With great wooded lots either on the river or across from it they are sure to please. This campground has both the Pemi River for swimming or tubing or an in-ground pool for those who don't like the river. They offer a great canoe/kayak trip where they bring you up the Pemi and drop you off and you can canoe right back to the camp. The only con I see is there is no beach on the river, it is all rock, so bring your water shoes! Other than that it is a great place to camp and close to the white mountain sight seeing and to Waterville Valley.
