Mara Kevin J Dvm - Central Nh Animal Care

What happened?? We have used Dr Mara for years for our cats, and now for our dog. He has always been excellent about returning calls and taking wonderful care of our pets. The last two times I have made appointments with Dr. Mara we have seen different "fill in" vets who do not come with the same level of expertise and professionalism that Dr. Mara had. The long wait for appointments, and the changing of staff at the practice sadly, has caused us to switch vets.

Dr. Mara has been my cats' vet for over 15 years. I had gone to others in the area, but received less than wonderful service.

When my siamese had something on his stomach that I needed looked at, the vet I was going to wouldn't let me hold him...said that was a liability. When his tech got injured because he wouldn't let me hold him, I didn't feel badly. I called around and Dr. Mara told me to bring him right down. I did, it turned out to be nothing, and he didn't charge me a dime.

We're on our third exotic breed cat and Dr. Mara hasn't let me down. He returns calls within a reasonable time frame, he does his breed research if needed, and he's always supportive with our animals and us. When my siamese passed away a few years ago after a long illness, Dr. Mara even sent flowers.

I have recommended and continue to recommend Dr. Mara and Central NH Animal Care to everyone I know who has a pet they love.

Dr. Mara and his staff provide the highest quality vet care with the utmost compassion and professionalism. He and his staff care as much for my animals as I do. He has never been too busy to not get back to me with accurate answers within a very reasonable time frame. The clinic is always busy, but never unorganized. Its very rare to have to wait past your appointment time to be seen. As far as I'm concerned, the quality of the care far exceeds the cost. I drive from Massachusetts to bring my animals to see him. There may be cheaper places near me, but the quality of care is nowhere near what Dr. Mara and his staff provide.

To Dr. Mara and his staff, well done. Keep up the tremendous work.

To anyone looking for a vet in and around the Concord/Manchester area (or Eastern Mass.) you can't do any better than Central New Hampshire Animal Care.

To the nay sayers, I ask you, has Dr. Mara ever bent the rule for you regarding payments, have you ever been late paying him, has he ever taking payment in trade? I know he is willing to work with his clients with regards to making payments. Perhaps you've taken advantage of his generosity for so long you've come to expect it. If so, the problem isn't with Dr. Mara, it's with you and your entitlement belief.

Kevin Mara has my highest recommendation! He continues to impress with his enthusiasm to figure out the cheapest way to care for your family pet! The majority of the staff is fabulous!

What ever happened to the Kevin Mara I knew for so many years. The compassionate vet that gave 110 percent to the care of animals, is now just a business, I guess building that big new house and having money is more important. I have known Kevin since he started his business in just a small little office, felt good when I left knowing my pets got the best of care, but was turned away when my pet needed him the most. Shame on you Mr. Mara. I will never again do referral to you. Most disappointed. Denise Bennett

We've had nothing but excellent, professional care from this veterinary facility. As a matter of fact, folks of our rare breed seek out this office specifically for their excellence in OFA hip evaluations. The rates charged are less than most surrounding veterinary clinics.

Great job staff!

We had gone to Central NH Animal Care for years. We even referred other people to them. Recently they have gone up on all their costs, charging Boarding fees for 2 hour visits (x-rays), when we questioned these charges they were VERY rude and said Dr. Mara has the right to change his fees, which we understand, but over $20 for 2 hours there? And an over $100 increase for the same procedure done a year ago?
The next week we got a letter stating they would no longer see any of our animals!
Will never recommend anyone here again!

We have been taking our dogs and cats to Central NH Animal Care for over 15 years now. Always get excellent care and advice whether it is for annual exams or to ease a pet through his or her end of life with euthanasia. Price of service is always less than other clinics we hear about and that is so important to folks like us on a budget. Now with 5 cats in our house it is especially vital for them to be able to get such excellent health care.

We started going here at the recommendation of our breeder and these folks are terrific! Unfortunately, shortly after we started with them two of my dogs accidentally got into medication and they became seriously ill. One was in the hospital overnight, and one was in for three days. We expected a mimimum of $2000+ in vet bills. Our total bill came to less than $500 -- our old vet would have soaked us and we would have had to probably take out a loan to pay the vet bill. The people were more than empathetic to my animals (one was not expected to live but pulled through), and were as excited as I was when the sickest dog made it without any left over negative effects. I LOVE CENTRAL NH ANIMAL CARE!!!
