Ratings_icons Village Coin Shop is a rip off!

Sabreena M.

I will never go in there again. I have just recently started collecting coins and i have a question about one that i had. I asked the lady and she just looked at it quick and said nope, its nothing. when my husband walked out the door she must have thought i did too because the guy asked her what that was about and she just started saying "oh this girl had some nickel, its not worth my time" Meanwhile i'm still standing there looking around. needless to say it was nothing, but at the same time you dont need to be rude. then as i was about to purchase the few things that i needed to store my coins i would smell rubbing alcohol, and i watched that same lady rubbing a bunch of coins, and cleaning them! This is the worst place i have ever been and i would rather hold on to a coin that i have that is work 3000, then go back. VILLAGE COIN RIPS YOU OFF AND THEY SUCK!

Ratings_icons selling your coins

Sharon L.

I have been bringing my son into this coin store since he was about 8 years old. He is now 14 and has been investing his own money in coins. About three or four years ago, he bought a 1924 Augustus St. Gaudins double eagle for a considerable, but fair amount of money. He recently brought it in to the shop to see what they might offer him for it. The owner of this establishment was very rude and looked my 14 year old son in the eyes and said he didn't even want to look at it. He wasn't interested. And, he walked away. We were both surprised at the manner he chose to deal with a young boy who had a genuine interest in his business. He could have at least taken a minute to look at it. We are now in search of another establishment since my son enjoys researching and collecting coins. Needless to say when we bought this coin, the owner was very nice to us. We will not be recommending this business to anyone and we will no longer be bringing our business there.

Ratings_icons collecting quarters

I started giving my husband the quarter collection when it first came out a couple of years ago. So I go here quite a few times a year to get the new quarters. They have lots of coins and other collectables and are very knowledgable. It's also a great place to go to have gold weighed and appraised.
