.

I went to Franklin Pierce College for a non-traditional Teacher Certification Conversion Program. I had completed my BA in English by going to school in the night as an adult. However, I chose instead of completing my teaching certification by night classes I would try FPC's intensive teacher conversion program which met in the summer with additional courses in the fall. It was a very intense experience earning my degree this way with other adult students who were converting their BA's from various disciplines. I must say that everyone who was in the program was invested in making the most out of their educational experiences and was in it for the long haul. Unlike many traditional night courses the students were more motivated and dedicated than in other college settings that I had been in before. In the past when I had taken some courses in the afternoon with primarily young students, the experience and focus from younger students was completely different. I had to work hard but it was well worth the effort and the outstanding students that I met in the program who were dedicated adult learners.
