The last time I bought tires from Stan's, they were extremely poor quality (both tires blew out within three months of purchase) and their customer service is rude and unprofessional. My mother, who is in her 60's, went there to get tires on her car and had the audacity to ask the teenager working there "Are those inspectable?" He acted like she had just insulted him personally and was very rude to her...they also stripped the lugnuts while putting the tires on, so when it came time to replace those tires (she also had a blow out when she was 30 miles from home), it was impossible without a blowtorch! She had to have the car towed to a garage, pay for labor to get the tires off (since Stan's had stripped the lugnuts), and purchase all new lugnuts. Stan's is NOT a reputable business, skip it unless you want to end up paying more in the long run and risking a blow out while driving.

I bought a set of used (50%) no-name tires there last year (6/2010). Price was certainly nothing special,. $90 for 2 no-name 15" tires (mounted & balanced).
These were for the front of my daughters Jeep which had the steel belts showing through.
While the Jeep was sitting outside with a floor jack under it and the front wheels off, I noticed a 6"x 8" sign, written in marker, stapled to one of the wooden tire racks inside the building.
It said "Cash Only - No Checks"
The last time I bought tires here was about 6 years ago, and I paid with a check.
So I went inside and said to Stan (the owner) " You only take cash ? All I have is a check".
Well, I must have insulted his mother or something, because he shook his head twice and shouted "You've been here for 15 F**ken minutes, that sign was there for 17 F**ken years !!".
I stood there speechless (one of the few times in my life), my mouth hanging open.
He then said to his workers "Get his old tires back on and get this F**ken guy out of here".
I said "Stan, my daughter can't ride on those tires, they're not safe".
He said "Not my problem, go to the bank and get cash !".
I said " My car doesn't have any wheels on it !".
I ended up getting a ride to the bank (Northway, right in town), from one of his workers.
On the way I asked " What's his problem ?".
The guy said "That's just Stan, he's like that to everyone. I quit twice, but he keeps calling me, begging me to come back.".
So after I came back with cash, the work continued on the tires, and I was on my way.
But not before letting Stan know what I thought of his behavior, with him totally denying doing anything wrong.

This is MY 'Review of Stan's Tire Barn' -
Price : Nothing to write home about.
Quickness : About as fast as two guys can go with a floor jack working outside next to the road (just hope no one is there before you).
Professionalism : Are you kidding ??
In a nutshell : If you can POSSIBLY go ANYWHERE else, go there instead.

Stans Tire Barn sells both used and new tires. But the main reason for there popularity is for there sales of used tires.
They have very quick service. When you pull up next to there barn you tell them what tires you want replaced, and whether you want new or used. Then they jack the car up(with you in it), and remove the tires. Five minutes later they come out with the tires and install them. You then pay them, and off you go. There pricing is pretty reasonable. I recently replaced my two fronts tires with used tires on my car. It cost me $60 total including computerized balancing and mounting.
I recommend that people who need replacement tires, but cannot afford new tires, stop in to Stans Tire Barn in North Woodstock NH.
