I was so excited to take my kids here and then I saw the price. I took a deep breath and paid the price of admission and we went. Here is what we found. The lines were LONG!!! Sometimes almost an hour! The food (as it usually is) was EXPENSIVE! I brought a 3 year old, paid less, but still a lot and found that the park staff did not enforce rules to keep big kids off little kids stuff, even when I asked. The response, "they don't listen to us." My response, "Isn't that your JOB." Still no action. My 3 year old was overwhelmed by all the larger kids and wouldn't go on "his" size stuff!!! That was money wasted. I had my kids rate it on the way home and they all came up with about a 3!! (and they didn't pay the admission price!!!) They said the rides were fun, but they didn't get to go on many because of the lines. Per ride, it worked out to about $5.00 per ride for the whole day!!!
Go to the beach, go to a pool, but save your money and DON'T go here!!

Save your money and do not go to Water County on a weekend. We went on a Sunday in August ...if you like being downton New York City during rush hour except everyone is unclothed and covered in tatoos this is the place for you! The horrible sound system was blaring distored music. The park was dirty, the clorine just about burned the eyebrows off of us...the pirates cove pool was closed for a time due to a 'floater' in the pool. There was no way I would let my 8 year old daughter near it and when the rope was removed people swarmed into the pool ...UUUGGGHHHH. The lazy river ride was bumper to bumper and the wave pool was a sea of heads you could not get out to the water there were so many people in the pool. Teenagers in our party waited one hour and 20 minutes to go on one of the rides. Water Country needs to limit the amount of people they let in. This place was bursting at the seams with the lowest common denominator and it wasn't pretty. I will never ever go back there again.

Pros: water rides

Cons: TOO MANY PEOPLE TOTALLY DISGUSTING!

I went there recently. I have to say (save for the showers and the occasional downpour), I had a good time. The rides themselves were thrilling to say the least (especially Dragon's Den, Geronimo, and Shoot), and the lazy river was good as well. The water was for the most part clean (save for 1 or 2 leaves). My only real problem with the park were the walkways. If going barefoot, look out, the walkways are pretty rough, and may even lead to athlete's foot (but that's probably no different from many public/hotel swimming pools). All in all, I had a great time.

We have gone here with the kids on many a hot summer day. It is easy to spend the entire day and experience all kinds of water fun. You can lounge by the wading pool or ride the water slides or anything in between.

Every summer we go here one time as a cousin day. As the kids are getting older it is getting more fun. I have to admit that the wave pool still makes me nervous

Water Country is great for older kids, but leave the little ones at home. Unfortunatley, the staff encouraged me to pay the price of admission because there was "a lot for a 3 year old". I can't wait to take my daughter to Water Country when she gets olders. At 3, there just wasn't enough for her to do to justify the price. She's adventurous, but even the few rides she could go on were more than she was ready for. We'll stick to Storyland for a few more years!

I enjoyed my day at Water Country,
but I have to say one thing I think the
reviews were correct about how hard it
is to keep it clean because there had
to be close to 5,000 people there that day
and I still found bugs and trash in around the
Wave Pool

Unlike a few of the other reviews, I had a very good experience at Water Country. It was not very dirty, and the bathrooms were clean. The employees for the most part were helpful and friendly, and the teenagers were attentive. The park has water slides, a river ride, inner tube rides, wave and kiddie pools, and the whirpool was just to die for...I think I spent two hours in it! It was a bit pricey, but it was worth the trip.

My kids love water parks and they love this one. But I on the other hand am not too crazy about it. I know it's tough to keep water parks clean, but I feel this one can use some improvements. I also feel that it is a bit pricey. My son's girlfriend worked there last summer and had to have tons of training, so I felt confident about that, but most of the workers are teens and I am not too confident about their ability to handle emergency situations.

i went to Water Country in Portsmouth New Hampshire and it was an ok experience. The rides are good, but the water was freezing. There was trash wherever you looked. I was expecting something a little bit cleaner. I ended up taking my child to first aid while i was there and it was closed. I asked an employee where the first aid worker was and his answer was "obvioulsy they are not there". I had already known that and asked him to call someoen over there afterall we were at the first aid station to get first aid medical treatment!!!! When the first adi person arrived 15 minutes later they were not friendly at all. i was very diappointed about the employees attitude. If you want to cool off, don't mind trash all over the ground, freezing water and employees with attitudes then this is the place for you.
