There's some things you should know about Canobie Lake park. Since I live about 40 minutes away I want to save out of towners some money and disappointment. Without a doubt, Canobie is one of the worst attractions I've been to. The park is small and has some local charm but in terms of business they are awful. One of the reasons you might choose Canobie over a Six Flags is it's a smaller park, shorter lines, easier to navigate and enjoy, right? Wrong. We were there today. Although the parking lot was full we figured it wouldn't be too bad. From the gate entrance you can get no sense of how crowded it is. Deceptively, school buses drop off loads of groups and leave so the full parking lot only partly describes the mob scene inside. Once we passed through the gates and walked about 50 yards we found out just how crowded it was. Lines of 100 people or more at the bumper cars. The water park had a line in the hundreds and that's not counting the full capacity inside the water park - the hundreds waiting have to stand there until someone leaves the water park area to gain admission. Every inch of this park was teeming with people. We decided we'd go back to the gate and explain we'd only been in the park 15 minutes but we'd like a rain check to come back. We were declined. I called and spoke with Tracy, a manager and she reiterated the policy of no refunds or rainchecks. In normal circumstances, I understand the policy but even the manager acknowledged the unusual volume and bus loads of guests who arrived today. She admitted the park was unusually crowded but said she has no control over that. However, they do have control over it. They could set capacity guidelines. You could notify entrants of how full the park is before they enter. It's irresponsible and dangerous to fill the park beyond a manageable number of guests. Once you pass the gates you are in and there is no recourse. I paid for 3 tickets to enjoy the day. We were there for 15 minutes. We were basically robbed. Now, compare the cost of a Canobie Lake Park ticket ($30 each) to another attraction like Water Country where you can get admission for $59.99 that covers your admission for the rest of 2009 and all of 2010!! That price has no blackout dates, includes discounts for food and bring a friend passes. Or Coco Key who is giving free admission into their water park for each guest who donates $5 worth of school supplies. Unbelievable! These are businesses who provide safe fun, value and great service. There are much better New England attractions to go to. Don't ruin your vacation there.

I am going to Canobie next week and it is the best place in the world! The place is so clean and the environment is very hospitable. The rides are extremely fun and clever and it is just such a kick to ride every single ride even the silly ones like the caterpillar. The games are really fun too cause there are really cheap ones where you can play till you win and you might even win a decent prize. Like this duck game for instance when you pick up two ducks floating by and add the numbers on the bottom together to get your total. I got lucky and scored a 16 and if you get a 16 or above you win a huge stuffed animal so I won it. And also the Italian restaurant the Portofino is really yummy and there is a great view. Also the fireworks are gorgeous and they really put a greqat topper to your day. I am so excited togo I am going with my parents, my little brother, his two friends who are also my two friends, and my awesome cousin who unfortunately broke her arm like an idiot but can still go on a lot of rides since Canobie is so awesome. Anyways yah that's like my life story thanks for reading!

I like going to the amusement parks because the rides here are so fun. I always go to this park because it is so much fun. However, I do wish there were more roller coaster rides.

We have such a blast every time we go here. I have been going here for about 20 years and boy has it changed and improved over the years. The rides are awesome. There are rides for everyone. Some old rides and many new ones. The food is typical for an amusement park with plenty of choices. Parking is plentiful. The only bad thing is the price to enter the park. It is expensive and most would say worth it, but I find it pricey, especially for someone who does not plan on going on any rides. They have to pay the same price as someone who does ride.

We go to Canobie Lake Park almost every summer and we love it. It has rides for all ages and they keep adding new rides and other things as well. It's very clean and well run too.

It is expensive to get in and the food is expensive as well.

PROS: lots of fun
CONS: expensive admission and food

I have been driving up to Salem NH every year to go to Canobie Lake because I love it so much. They are only about an hour away from Boston, which is great in case you have kids to worry about. They add many new rides each year, and the lines are not too long, especially if you go closer to the early afternoon hours. The tickets are not too expensive, but the food is. They dont allow you to bring food into the park, so be prepared to spend some money on that. The rides are great and they are for all ages.

Canobie Lake Park is a fun place to go even though the rides are older than I am! There are a lot of rides for the little ones to go on now which is good and they are starting to get the "bigger" rides. The admission is a little expensive considering it's an old park with hardly any new rides. But with the added waterpark it's worth the money!

I like the fact that it is not one of those high powered large parks. The crowds are much smaller here...so you don't have to wait an hour and half for a ride like at the bigger parks. Over the last five years or so they have added a few new attraction rides. The food is always great......such a variety to choose from. THey even have fireworks on the weekends.

Canopy Lake is a great way to spend a day with the family. It can be very expensive. The rides are tremendous. I love the rollercoaster. Food is as good as any other park. It is right over the border of NH. People from Massachusetts and New Hampshire come and enjoy. The best part is the water park. Kids love that section. It is so much fun

Canobie Lake Park is a fun place to go. They have great rides, although I personally have only really been on the roller coasters. They are all great. Canobie is smaller than the huge amusement parks, but has enough to keep you occupied for an entire day. The food there is over priced, but you aren't going to find it cheaper at any other parks.

This is one of the amusement parks to choose from if you live in MA or NH. I went here yearly when I was a child with my family for my dad's company picnics.

I always had a lot of fun -- there's great food and a great atmosphere. Rides for all ages, though it mostly encompasses your standard fare -- rollercoasters, matterhorn, that ship that swings back and forth (whatever it's called), all the way down to teacups ;)

This place is great because it suits people of all ages, from toddlers to adults. There are alot of rides that kids and adults can both ride. The kiddie park has alot of rides for the smaller kids, too.

The parking is free which is rare these days!! And you don't have to walk miles from the parking lot to the park, it's all right there.

Price is decent, too. Very often you can get discount passes at local businesses.

Canobie Lake Park has been a staple in the Mass-NH area for decades, growing from a small amusement park with a tiny midway to a major amusement and water park with all kinds of entertainment draws. The park itself still has its own staples, the roller-coater and the sky ride among others. The addition of water rides was brilliant, because now you can enjoy a lot of different activities without having to go to separate venues. No matter how big it gets, it still has that New England feel to it. Canobie Lake is still a great place for the whole family.

And reasonable for the price compared to some of the parks out there. And if you got a soda can for a discount? You're golden! IIs not that far from Manchester/ Nashua/ and even some Massachusettes points. They have a wide variety of new rides, as well as some of the classic favorites. the only drawback is that you cannot bring your food in, so you have to go to the car and eat out there. Makes for a pain in the middle of your day!

I've been going to Canobie Lake Park since I was a very small child. It has definitely grown since then and it has always kept it's family feel. It is clean and the games are fun and there is a good kid's area for the little ones. The 4th of July fireworks are always beautiful and their carousel is still beautiful after all these years.

Canobie Lake Park is a great place to bring the family. The have amusment rides and water rides all in the same setting. There are times when the lines can be too long so take a break and enjoy the pool or go on a boat ride. Tons of things to do for a whole family.

PROS: The water rides
CONS: There are too many old rides, they need to start bringing in new rides

Take the kids down to Canobie Park and ride the rides! They have been adding some new rides and early in the year it is nice and quiet! If only they offered season passes, it would be perfect! They are not open during the fall or winter months, but the spring and summer are great. The new water park is excellent too, especially for the kids in the summer heat! Make sure to bring a bathing suit as there are alot of wet rides to cool off and they also have a pool!
