Upscale Resale

My wife and I were in that Portsmouth store for the first time yesterday and were extremely pleased by the prices and the knowledgeable courtesy of the person working there (Lisa, I believe).

I'm not sure what "Scott" did or thought or what, but his/her review is so alien to our experience that I simply must question the validity of "insider expert" status--Is it your system here that an idiot can write a lot of idiotic reviews and be "validated" for his/her profusion of idiocy?

I have been a loyal shopper of Upscale Resale for over three years now. Considering the quality and the high-end name brands I find the prices to be extremely reasonable...this is not a typical resale store...some of the items still have original tags and all looks like new. I also love that they are willing to purchase the designer clothing I have (just sitting in my closet). I live in Rhode Island, and I always make a point to stop into the store when I am in NH...which is often. I have yet to stop in without buying something. I love this store!!!

Regarding parking...Portsmouth is Portsmouth.

PROS: Amazingly high-end clothing at great prices - not a typical retail store
CONS: None that I can find

After driving by the Upscale Resale shops a few time, both the Portsmouth and York locations...I finally had a chance to actually go into the York location today. I was skeptical because of the post that was left before about the prices being high and the sales staff being "snooty".

I didn't find that at all. I found very reasonable prices on mostly brand name clothes. The sales person was nice to chat with and very approachable...nothing like the "snooty" air that was expecting. The store is great and the sales staff was wonderful!

I bought a lovely sage colored sweater for $26, that I have priced out at $60 in the stores. I am hooked!

Also, I am going back to bring in the clothes that have been sitting in the back of my closet, you know the ones.... we by them so we will have them when we lose those couple extra pounds, that we never seem to shed. They will buy them from you right there, no consignment hassels!

You have to check this place out!!!

CONS: Parking at the Portsmouth location is trick, but that is how Portsmouth is.

i am one of those people that doesn't like to pay full price for anything. For a place that sells used clothing, you would think the prices would reflect that, boy was i wrong. i went in and looked around but the prices were so high, and the woman that worked there was very snooty. And if that is not bad enough it took me almost thirty minutes to find a parking space. i will never go into that place again.
