I shop at this store often and you do have to know your prices because they are way off-base on some items. I just walk away from those. Everything is nicely arranged and browsing is fun. I consigned 2 pieces of furniture last spring and was surprised to find that they add an additional amount onto the price that you consign for. I don't know, it just seemed very sneaky to me. So, they are offering you $80.00, but putting it on the floor for $95.00 - they pocket the extra 15.00 and then 35% of the consigned amount. I doubt I will consign there again.

I recently brought items in to the Amherst location and it was a nightmare. For 60 items it took an hour and a half to input all the items. It was not the girl that was inputting the items (because she was learning), but it was the overall chaos and interruptions that overwhelmed the entire ordeal. There was only one other worker and she was "busy" chatting, and fluttering around like a bird. She was also hostile and basically dumped my stuff on this poor girl so she wouldn't have to do it. There was no reason she couldn't have done my stuff as is was a lot of stuff and trained the girl on another person with less items.

I have found the staff in both shops are arrogant, bossy, think they know everything, and do not want to really help. I have been going to CG since Vicki started the business. As the business has grown, the staff has gotten worse and they are extremely PICKY about everything you bring in.

I won't go there anymore to buy or sell.I would be careful when you bring items there and don't expect them to be consistent with prices, as it depends on who is taking the items in at the time. Too bad. It used to be a nice place to go.

Very few bargins there...Home goods has some of the same items for less. the jewelry is very, every overpriced. they only except credit cards and will not hold the items for you. I have only been to the one in Amherst and the staff has not been very friendly. Fun place to browse but not to purchase. All of the items are used and should be priced as such.

First, the viewer should realize there are Consignment Galleries in two locations. Both have the same hours, but the difference in staff is like night and day. The Amherst store will go out of their way to assist you. If you live far away, they will check the floor for a certain item, or even measure for you to see if it will fit, and call you back. I have been in the Bedford store location on multiple occasions. The workers there will start cashing out 5 min before closing, and then get mad at you if you don't have exact change. If you are not aware, C.G. only accepts check or cash. They do not take any credit or debit cards.Do not expect them to hold your items while you run to the bank. Do expect them to keep between 35-50% of the profits if you place something on consignment with them.
Overall, there is a nice variety of items, and the stock is always changing. The workers will wrap your breakables in newspaper, but if you have several the (Bedford) workers will sigh loudly and audibly while doing it.

I always enjoy going to the consignment gallery. They have an excellent selection of antiques, decorations and of course furniture. You get nearly new pieces of furniture for a fraction of the cost, plus a HUGE selection of everything, spanning two giant floors. My only complaint is that it is run by two elderly ladies, so you are on your own moving anything heavy. This is okay for me, but what about other elderly people?

I shop at this store often. They have a great selection of used items from furniture to pictures to hummels. I think their prices are very reasonable. I have bought a couple chairs and a picture at this shop & was very pleased. Staff are helpful and friendly.
