Previous to the manager change 3 years ago (2007), I never would have gone in. But a new manager and a new set of employees make this a bearable experience. Although there have been a couple of times where I paid more than expected, overall the work has been great. I have a 98 tahoe and it has been serviced there for 30k miles. I have had NO problems with my truck at all in this time. It has over 150k on it now. Great tires, good prices on oil changes. Sometimes you wait a bit longer than you think you need to, but again, the service on the vehicles is impeccable.

I called first to make sure I could have two new tires installed in time for me to go to work that afternoon. They assured me the job would be completed in 30 minutes.

It ended up taking nearly four hours and I was late to work (they had only one other car there, and four mechanics on duty). The customer service guy was rude and hostile everytime I spoke to him. The mechanics were all sitting around. I counted 1 hour during which my car was on the lift and no one touched it. The mechanics and salesperson laughed at my frustration. When I left the salesperson was rude and snide.

A week later two of my lugnuts had fallen off!! I checked all of them, and all of them were loose and close to falling off.

Astoundingly incompetent at every level.

I went to this Firestone Service Center for a set of 4 tires. I had already decided which tires I wanted so it was just a matter of them ordering them and scheduling an appointment for installation. When I arrived, as I have chrome wheels, I asked to have the weights installed on the inside. I then had to listen to all the reasons why that wasn't a good idea. Upon my insistance, they begrudingly did it. As I was waiting for the installation, out came the service writer with a laundry list of items wrong with my car that they could certainly take car of while I was there. After seeing they would charge $24.00 to replace two license plate bulbs, I declined all the service. It cost me $1.99 for the bulbs and 10 minutes to install.
A few days later as I was driving I heard this strange noise that seemed to be coming from underneath the car and was louder upon acceleration. As I was 10 miles from home, I just drove slowly home. I walked around the car, looked underneath, and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I don't know what prompted me to do so but I checked the wheel lug nuts and the rear driver side lug nuts were so loose I could tighten them by hand, a lot. I proceeded to take my torque wrench and tighted the lug nuts and checked the other wheels which were ok.
Now this is my wife's vehicle and she had driven about 75 miles to work and errands prior to me taking it and a lot of it on the highway. I don't want to think what would have happened if the wheel fell off as that was a distinct possibility.
As it was Sunday afternoon, I called Firestone first thing Monday and they apologized but could not understand how that could happen since they have one person who doublechecks others work just for that reason.
Needless to say, I am not happy with the service nor their attitude at Firestone. I need to return to have the tires rotated every 5000 miles for the warranty to be in effect and I will do so but will never use them otherwise nor recommend them.

They run good deals on tires and oil changes from time to time, but when I went in for an oil change they continued to find problems and the bill went higher and higher and the time spend waiting was longer and longer.
