Davies Tire Co Inc

I've been going to Davies for over five years now, and I am very happy with how honest they are. They do great work, and I always feel safe when driving my car after they've serviced it. Their prices are really good, and I've never been pressured into doing work that isn't necessary. I agree with the other reviewers that have written that they are very good about saying when it is time to stop putting money into older vehicles. I recommend them to all of my friends.

I had a "check engine light" that kept going on; they thought it was a little rot around the place you put the gas into the tank and replaced that to the tune of $200+. The light stayed off just long enough for them to issue me an inspection sticker. Took it to my regular mechanic in Manchester and discovered it had the wrong spark plugs. I would have thought they'd have been able to figure that out.

I brought my higher mileage Civic to their shop for regular oil changes/rotations and occasional minor repairs. They are very honest and do not push work especially on an older vehicle. Their tire service is good too and prices are average.

I would call them the anti-chain vs all the other chain tire places selling not needed work.

Incredible location since downtown Portsmouth is a brief walk(<5 mins) with everything to explore, eat and pass time..

Good, honest mechanics here. When I worked in Portsmouth, they serviced my Sentra. I stopped in to have my brakes done, and they called me to say they noticed the engine had a knock-- and recommended that I skip getting the brakes done unless I planned on doing engine work (which they didn't recommend, seeing as I already had 160K on the car). Their pricing is fair, but more importantly they look out for your best interest!

I came to them needing a spare tire because from the roads here I needed them. My tires had taken a beating and needed one new one from flat. Well I came in they were very fast for attending to me and getting the job done. I bought a spare for a120 and that was a decent price.
