My dog became gravely ill while we were at out summer place in Meredith. We called Meredith Animal Hsopital and they made us an emergency appointment. The vet there was incredible. You just got the feeling that he was so much more filled with knowledge than others I had seen. He explained more to us about our old (16) little dog than any vet ever had and walked us through the treatment options and choices. The procedures were very reasonably priced, in fact they made my own vet seem like a crook! We knew our dog was leaving us, and they made this sad day much easier than it could have been and I will always be thankful.
I would take a sick pet there again in a heartbeat.

I oriignally ended up at this vet's when my dog had a seizre and he was oncall for my primary vet. We did not get off to a very good start. He was very rough on me, but only because he thought I had neglected my dog. Once he got to know me on follow up visits, he realized I was not neglectful and, actually, a very responsible owner. We ended up having a great realtionship and I eventually changed from my previous vet to him. He saw me and my two dogs through many rough times and always with excellent, excellent care. Yyou can tell he truly loves animals. The animal is his first concern, the owner second. That is how it should be. If I had not moved out of state, I wouuld be using him still, today. If you want a vet and staff who REALLY CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL, this is the place to go.

Very reasonably priced for the service. My cat needed emergency surgery and was hospitalized for 13 days. I was allowed to visit and the staff would happily bring the cat to the examining room for me. The Dr would always take time to update me on my cat's condition and called me every day...even on Mother's Day. Very busy practice, but I never felt rushed or like I was intruding.
PROS: dedicated staff, clean. Dr A is the best.
CONS: Small waiting area. Only bathroom is upstairs (steep stairs)

This vet is not my everyday vet. I have used this vet for three knee surgeries on two different dogs because the surgery required special training my regular vet did not have. Their services are reasonably priced and they do a very good job with training you for the recooperation period of your pet. It is a very small practice and the office itself is very small and cramped so you have to beware of other animals when you enter. And the vet, although he isn't the best with people, is wonderful with animals. My dogs were very comfortable with him.
