Little Shop of Pets

We have been going to Little Shop Of Pets, since 1994.And LOVE it !! we had a 1,000 gal (salt) fish tank and have made several trips to the store to see what we could buy for it...changes quickly because it sells fast. so find out when shipments come in...always a great selection. The staff are wonderful and educated.They back up everything they sell...We also bought our Yellow lab from them 12 years ago...Carter was one of the first dogs they sold...He was the BEST dog, I EVER had and recently he passed on ...He was healthy to the end...We ARE going to get another dog, from Alex and Tom.... I looked into other options, But LSOP's are the best...NO DOUBTS...I would have to say that if you are in the market to get any pet, it would be wise to go to Little Shop Of Pets...

I went to Little Shop of Pets about a year ago for the first time.I never liked pets shop at all because of the way they caged the animals.So I stayed away from all shops because it made me sad to see them in cages.My Friend went to get her dog food and asked me to go with her.I went and fell in love with the store.I have bought my two best Friends.They are the perfect pets.I would buy again from Little Shop Of Pets.I also have talked to a lot of people that bought dogs from them and would buy again from them.I now go in at least once a week on lunch time to play with the puppies.

I would say in the last twenty years.I have been to this store three or four hundred times.I would go with my parents when I was a child.I now bring my kids to Little Shop Of Pets years later.I like the way they take care of the pets.They do not cage any thing for any reason.I also like to go and play with the puppies.I look forward to getting my weekly puppy fix.I can say I have met a lot of people ver the years that feel the same as I do.I also bought my two pugs frm them over eight years ago.I would buy again from them.Puppies are like a child and also can get sick.I hope the people that be live animals can"t get sick don't have kids.

Its illegal to sell a puppy under the age of 8 weeks in the state of NH
If you got a dog from anyone or anywhere under the age of 8 weeks they should be reported

I bought a boxer puppy there 4 years ago, despite being told to never purchase from a pet store. She is very healthy, has an excellent temperament, and is an all around AMAZING dog. She happens to be beautiful too. A few years prior to that, I purchased a Golden, who is old and sweet now, but I got him from a "reputable" breeder, and he has a litany of health issues, and did not come close to having the perfect "Golden Retriever" temperament that we've all heard is so wonderful... He has mellowed with age. My point is, I think you have as good a chance, if not better of getting a healthy, quality pet from LSOP's, as you do from a "reputable" breeder, without all the holier than though treatment, and righteous bull crap that some breeders take pride in putting you through.

I generally avoid purchasing pups at puppy stores, prefering either breeders (who can guarantee a healthy puppy free of congenital birth defects, bone and joint problems, heart problems, eye problems, etc), or I adopt from an animal rescue. But if you want a pup, want it now, want to play with it before you buy, and are willing to pay top money (and take some risk of illness), then a puppy store is an option. At least at this store the puppies are free to play with others, are well socialized (since so many customers play with them), and are quite clean.

My dog is doing great four years later.I have Five Friend's that have all bought dogs from them and all have been good pets.I wounder if the same person keeps posting bad reviews notice every one is from a Anonymous person.Why not list a name like all the others that responds to this?????????? I have bought two Yorkies from Little Shop Of Pets and both have been great.I have won three awards with my female.I have bred her twice in the last four years.She is six and doing great.I would buy again from Litle Shop Of Pets

I would agree that this is one of the best shop around.You should visit other pet stores before you say something.I sell dog products
from NY to ME and with out a doubt they have one of the best cared for shops.I have also talked to people that have bought dogs and said only good things.I would say to take the time and look at some other pet stores that cage all the animals.

Drove 1.5 hours to come to this so called "best saltwaterfish & coral store" in New England. Turns out that it was all a lie. They had maybe six or seven pieces of coral, 4 or 5 fish, and NO inverts. Had a ton of puppies though. Whats even worse is it was for my birthday and when my mother-in-law called earlier that week to ask if they have a good selection on hand cause she was going to buy me a $75 gift certificate the manager lied and said they always have a huge selction of saltwater fish & corals. So there i was stuck with a worthless gift certificate. Even tried to buy my salt (tropic Marin) and they did not care it. How an "Excellent saltwater fish store" does not even carry the top brand of salt mix I will never know. The only bright spot is I was able to sell my wothless gift certificate to a guy there for $50, had to eat the other $25 cuase when I told teh manager the whole scoop he just laughed and said there was & is nothing he would do for me as he actually thought that trifle collection was a huge selection.

Save yourself the trouble if you need saltwater fish, coral, or live stock visit The Aquarium Gallery in Hudson, NH or Jays Aquatics in Salem, NH for they are real saltwater fish stores.

Who writes these reviews? Is everyone still in grade school? Who can take a review seriously when it is written like a fourth grader??!

Every pet store has a vet who periodically checks the store's pets. This is not an outstanding perk. As for having them in wooden boxes with shavings so that they can run and play, there are disadvantages as well as advantages to that. They are constantly handled by people and children, who can drop them, hold them improperly (they are still babies), do damage to them. I dont see very much supervision when I am visiting the shop (who can resist visiting puppies??!) In fact, the last time I was there was a week ago, and several of the puppies had poop matted to their butts, filthy faces and runny eyes, with yellow crust in one puppy's eyes that nearly had one eye closed. I dont call this cared for. When I looked around for an employee, I found ONE, and he was wandering around, completely oblivious to what was going on in the shop. I wash my own dog's face every morning with a wash cloth and a spec of puppy shampoo, and he loves it. It only takes a minute to do it. If I were selling puppies, I would make damned sure they looked good, and I would police them constantly to be certain they were okay. I am not so certain I would buy from the Little Shop of Pets.

I can say what a great place this is.I have been going into Little Shop of Pets for over fifteen years.my dad would bring us as kids in on weekends to see the pets and fish.Fifteen year later I'm bringing my kids in weekly to play with the puppies.I can"t have pets where I live.I think it great that they let you pick up the pups also they are not in cages like other pet shops.I have seven friends who bought pups from them and all have had good things to say about Little Shop of Pets.I agree that people that live in the perfect world should not have pets.Pets are just like children they to get sick.I think every dog sold you sign a contract which is a copy of the state law

My mother as bought all four pugs of our from Little Shop of Pets.We bought our first pug from a breeder and it was really sick we read the State law and signed it .We brought that pup back to the breeder.WE then bought our first pug from Little Shop of Pet two years later bought one more.Then five queit years then stoped in for the monthly puppy fix and fell in love with two little brother pugs.I would say over the last seven years we have seen a few hundred puppies that came from them.I also have heard a friend say that the have sold over eight thousand puppies If that is true I would think that
you wou get some sick ones.They must be doing something right 19 years later also the oldest Petshop in the seacoast area.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUY"S

TO the people that have bought A dog that got sick or was sick.I would say that you don't deserve to own a pet.You should not have kids.Who do you blame when your kids get sick the Doctor?You must live in the perfect world.I have bought my two dogs from them four years ago.They have been my best friends.I run a rescue and I would send people to them if I didn't have what someone wanted.I think any pet store the does not cage animals is a great place to get a pet from.You would be glad to see the way the pets are cared for.They also have a vet that comes to the store once a week.

I know the owner of this pet store and he would never get any puppies that have any issues of any sort. he would never buy ANY puppies that have anything wrong with them. Don't say anything about this pet store if you don't know the inside scoop on the owner or anything. Animals get sick and that is not the owners fault. whoever buaght that dog that was skinny and sickly, you shouldn't have bought it. so maybe ONE of out THOUSANDS of dogs one was sick, at least they are not caged and hurt.

I don't want 2 get on a soap box or anything but people have 2 understand a few things. First of all, the majority of the puppies that come into them are from PUPPY MILLS found in the Midwest. Most of the puppies that come in already have issues. While the puppies are in the care of the Shop of Pets, they do see a vet. When you buy a puppy, the receipt tells you right in plain language that they are NOT responsible for medical bills you may incur. I have purchased three dogs from pet stores, one @ a pet store that was in the Fox Run Mall, CAGED for 5 1/2 months. I then purchased 2 more @ Little Shop of Pets. The first was fine, the second had a few issues that were easily cleared up when I took her 2 the vets. There are not going 2 be ANY places that are 100% perfect and when you take on the responsibility of a pet you need to expect vet bills. I was impressed with the care of the animals. NO CRATES!

My Mother bought two of the best Golden's I have ever seen.They are four and five.My vet also told me that she had bought two really nice Golden's.I also have two friends that bought dogs at Little Shop of Pets that have been perfect.I buy all my salt water corals from them.I see the puppies playing in the big wooden boxes.They look like they are having fun.I have also seen a vet there on Thursdays.I asked once what the vet was doing?They told me that a local vet comes once a week to check the pups.I thinks that's great that they have the vet check them once a week.I also think this is a great PlaceBobcat

I agree what a great pet store.I can"t have a dog in my apartment but when I move in the fall I"m buying my puppy from Little Shop of Pets.I have talked with alot of people that have bought thier dogs from them and had great luck.I think if you went to a mall pet store and saw the puppies in cages on wire you would feel bad for them.
I think the help does a great job.I also like that I can hold them.I also saw a few bad reviews.I think people need to relize that pets are like people and people can get sick to.

I think this is one of best pets Stores around.I would drive down from Vermont To buy corals.I bought my mothers dog from them.This is one of the best boxer I have seen.This is also from some one that had four boxers growing up.To the people that had Negative Reviews animals are like People they do and can get sick.I would also say that they have one of the cleanest pet stores around and the best
corals.I now live in Portsmouth and get a weekly Puppy fix.I like that you can go in and just play with them.they are not caged like most places.

Hello,I bought two pugs that are almost six years old now.They
have been the best dogs I have ever owned.A local breeder told me that one of my dogs was like a show quality dog. She has been a breeder for 21 years.I have also had three friends that bought pups there and they have all been great. I would recomend this pet store.
