Great fish selection.

Everything is always fresh and well presented. We have made many great meals at home using WF Seafood fish, shrimp and crabmeat.

Also, the people there are very helpful regarding tips for preparing the fish, buying the right amount and suggesting substitutes for what the recipes call.

Use them all the time with great results.

i admit i shop here often, but find the prices high, the store dirty and the help slovenly -- yes they are fish mongers, but that big slow guy looks like he needs a bath and a dentist and turns me off whenever i see him, i try to maneuver to another sales person, but they all seem to wanna be somewhere else

The first time I bought seafood from this place, my husband and I found worms jumping out of the fish while it was cooking on the skillet. I let it go after receiving a full refund of about $12. However, my husband's experience at a later visit was much worse - the salesman proceeded to insult his employer after noticing a tee shirt he was wearing! I am still FLOORED that a business would treat a repeat customer this way. This recession is tough on everyone, but taking it out on your customer's place of work? Are you kidding me? Absolutely unacceptable, disrespectful, inappropriate, and rude. I will be letting all my friends who are employed by Wall Street that they are persona non grata and will shop for my (non-worm-infested) seafood, elsewhere. Here's a clue Westfield Seafood - this is a New York suburb. You have customers who make a living on Wall Street.

The last time I went there (had gone several times before), I picked up flounder. (Yes, a lousy attitude came with the fish, but I really don't care.) I got the fish home and opened it to find that much of it was loaded with roundworms/cod worms. They were upright and squirming at me. I nearly died. I could not eat this. I called and told them I was coming back for a refund. I get that fresh fish has parasites--I get it. I also know that a responsible monger who charges like they do candles the fish so that I don't have to experience this, and it wasn't just one, it was about five. So I brought it back and quietly tried to tell the guy my situation. He said, with his arms folded, "what do you want me to do?" I then got semi-loud and said, "uh, give me my money back!" Ridiculous.

I love my guys at Westfield Seafood--sure they h ave a dry sense of humor at times-fish is serious business!/-work with me, work with me! The fresh cleaned cooked x large shrimp (outclass the waterlogged ones at Shoprite) are simply sublime, worth every penny as an appetizer for your guests while you are preparing another fish- Must get their Cocktail sauce companion!! Softshell crabs when in are FAB!! Just dust with flour, spices and pan fry in a bit of olive oil or butter. Seaweed salad side good for you and fun to eat. Stuffed potatoes should be declared illegal!!

Happy camper customer

Good selection of seafood that is usually fresh, but the prices range from high to outrageous, e.g. $23/pound for fresh tuna. I only shop here when I have to.

These guys don't mess around. They are serious about their fish, yet they have a dry sense of humor. Both are worth it...the fish and the humor. When the places is packed (which is often on weekends and Friday nights) they may not have the time to answer 35 questions on what Monk fish tastes like, however, they will give you exactly what you want. The fish is trimmed right on the premises. And talk about fresh! You will never get old or frozen waterlogged fish here.

Dollar for pound Westfield Fish blows any other local fish outlet out of the water.

I had been dying to try Westfield Seafood, and when I finally got the chance to, it was a complete let-down. I had originally been lured by the 'she-crap soup' poster in the window, but wanted to see what else they had to offer. After browsing at the fresh fish, I was asked if I needed help. Thinking of my original draw, I said "she-crab soup". As if I couldn't have figured out that it wouldn't have been on ice with the fresh fish, the man behind the counter, very condescendingly says, "Uh, behind the lobsters, in the fridge". I let that one slide, and walked over to look at the soup. Opted out of that because it was mainly cream, minimal crab. Venturing back to the fresh fish, I was stared at by the same man. Feeling like I had to explain myself, I said "changed my mind". His response - 'typical woman' and continued to just stare at me. For whatever reason, I decided to ask him a question about the taste of Monkfish. Big mistake. The attitude and negativity continued to the point where I just interrupted him and asked for two Tilapia fillets. He asked me if I wanted anything to sautee them with, and I said "No, I just sautee in olive oil and sea salt, I'm fine" -- just trying to get out of there. His last comment - "I'm just trying to give you some flavor". Thanks Guy, I really need flavor advice from someone with the personality of dirt. Don't think I need to tell you I won't be back there for my seafood! Plus, ShopRite has better prices AND customer service. Hope this review was helpful.

I have been buying fish here for years and have always found the fish worth the premium price paid. The party platters they put together are beautifully done and very generous. Ask how to prepare your selection, you'll pick up some nice pointers.

PROS: Fish are perfectly cleaned
CONS:
