Our Lab and Pom just returned from a 7 night stay at the Pet Hotel in Atlantic City including full groomings. They had so much fun that they did not want to leave. Their groomers did a fabulous job and they both look great. The staff was knowledgeable and caring. The facility was clean and odor free. The accommodations were large and spacious. Our boys will be back to the Atlantic City Pet Hotel next month for 7 nights while we take a Caribbean Cruise. It is a blessing that we can travel guilt free with total peace of mind knowing our boys are getting the best care.

WOW! WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRIZE to find such a wonderful pet facility! We have never boarded our dogs before. We always take them wherever we go, or have a family member watch them. Our girls are very attached and dont like to be away

My husband and I have been using the Atlantic City Pet\r
Hotel for 6 years. They are located in a safe residential area called Chelsea Heights near my home in \r
Ventnor Heights.Their hours are convenient. The owner, manager, and support staff are excellent. Our dogs can't wait to enter the Pet Hotel, and, they race from the car to the front door. Our cat is happy staying upstairs (away from the dogs) in her own large cat condo which has different levels so she can jump around. The back of the condos face windows which allow Baby Cat to look outside, and see the birds, and squirrels. She also is allowed out of her condo to run around. They keep the Pet Hotel very clean, and odor- free. They keep vases filled with star gazer lillies, lilacs, and other pleasant smelling flowers.\r
I recently referred friends coming from Virginia to the Pet Hotel. They were very happy with the many excellent reviews on the internet, and concerned with the not so good reviews. We can tell you from our experiences that your pet will be very happy there. The Pet Hotel offers everything listed on their internet site, and much more. My husband and and I researched all of the reviews on several search engines. It seems to us that the same person, or persons are behind the negative reviews. As regular repeat customers of the Pet Hotel their reviews sound like they are describing another pet boarding location. We have never found any of the negative comments to be true. My husband and I believe these reviews are written by a Pet Sitter since they seem to push Pet Sitters in their reviews. Those looking for a Kennel, or Pet Hotel are not interested in pet sitters who come to their homes once, or twice a day to walk and feed my dogs, or to feed my cat, and clean their litter. I know when my friends, and relatives bring their pets to Atlantic City, they are very happy with the Pet Hotel. They love to visit their pets, which most Kennels and Pet Hotels do not allow. When you visit the Pet Hotel, you will agree with us. It is a wonderful place that is run by professional, caring people. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. When considering a Kennel, Pet Hotel or Groomer, we recommend that you check them out. We want the best for our pets, and we are sure that you do as well.\r

I feel horrible for ever leaving my cat here. She didn't stay downstairs which I was aware of and was supposed to be kept upstairs in her own ""suite"". They told me she'd be given bottled water. That they would play with her. I can guarantee she was pent up in a cage the entire time. The whole sch-peal was a lie!!!

They never let me see where she stayed and she was so freeked out when I picked her up. Ever since I left her there she has been to the vet countless amount of times from licking herself excessively from nervousness. The next visit she'll be on kitty prozac according to my vet.

The place is dirty and reeked of urine. I never saw the owners but I guess their children that seem to be running the place.

I don't know where these good reviews are coming from but I should have taken my cat elsewhere and regret ever stepping foot in that place.

Please, if you love your animal-don't do it!!

I live in Brooklyn, NY where I have access to every kind of service for pets and yet, when I go on vacation I take my special, precious little dog, Spanky, to the Atlantic City Pet Hotel and Grooming. I have been going there for 6 years. Whether it's overnight because I making a little visit to Atlantic City or taking a 3 week vacation, I know that my Spanky will be safe and loved. The entire staff is kind and loving and treats each pet as if it were his/her own. They do more than just the needed or necessary. They go beyond just care. They take each individual pet and see to it's needs. Whether it's some extra attention, hugs, medication, feeding - they see to it that your pet receives the best of care. I know. I've been to the places that provide the warehousing. This place is different.
You can go on your vacation worry-free.

When I first walked in the first thing I wanted to do was grab my dog and run out the door!! The office was disgusting (to say the least) and had random dogs running around. I dont know why I even left my dog there, it was a huge mistake! I couldnt even enjoy myself because all I did was worry about him. The next day when I picked him up he smelled awful, was very sick and completely freaked out! .. It was very obvious he was not cared for. I honestly think they have no idea how to care for pets and its ashame my dog had to suffer... !!!\r

PLEASE dont put your dog threw whatever the heck my dog had to go threw!!! Learn from my mistake!! \r

The staff and facilities were excellent. When we picked up our new puppy Sheba, the staff spent time with my children. They showed them how to brush and walk her. Sheba was very happy when we picked her up and\r
wanted to stay and play with the other dogs. I have never worked with a pet business that is so caring and professional. The owners make you feel that their home is your home. My wife loved the personal touches of fresh flowers on the desk, beautiful dog pictures and displays. When we were leaving the pet hotel they gave us a bottle of water for Sheba's trip home, treats and a doggy clean up bag. WOW!!! WHAT SERVICE!!!\r

I booked a week long vacation before I adopted Hailey. None of my friends or family members were available to take care of Hailey the week that I was going. I checked out several kennels and could not find one that I felt comfortable leaving her with. I called a pet sitter but did not want to leave Hailey home alone 24 hours a day and have someone just come in three times a day to walk and feed her. A few of my friends have used the Pet Hotel in Atlantic City and had wonderful things to say about them. I went to visit the Pet Hotel before bringing Hailey and was very impressed. The owner took me for a tour and spent about 20 minutes telling me about the facilities and answering my questions. I had an opportunity to speak to a few different customers both bringing in and picking up there pets. They all had only the best things to say about the Pet Hotel and told me that my dog would be very well taken care of and very happy there. I gave them a try and I am so glad I did. The Pet Hotel is 1 hour and 25 minutes from my home and well worth the trip. The location is good and easy to get to. There is plenty of free parking. They have many things in place to protect the dogs. They have a pretty large staff of dog lovers who take care of and play with the pets. The place is kept very clean. They do not have small cages like I saw at my Vet's office and the other Kennels I visited. They have 3 different size areas for each size dog with plenty of room even with the bed, toys and blanket I brought for Hailey. There were a few caretakers cleaning, playing with the dogs aand walking them. I was very pleased to see how each person handled the dogs with lots of personal attention and love. I was very happy to see that they keep records on the walks, feedings and personal information on each dog. I was very glad that I found a place that is open 365 days a year and have the owners living there. Hailey got to play with dogs her own size and made lots of friends. I was concerned that she might not like playing with other dogs. The owner tested her first. I was then given a choice of having Hailey play in small dogs grooups throughout the day or having her upfront. I chose to have her upfront during the day where she played with otehr little dogs. They had dog houses, beds and toys for the small dogs in the front gated area. They were all fed seperately and had plenty of wateraat all times. In the evening the dogs were put in their individaul accommodations after their last walk of the night. Even though they are almost an hour and a half from my house I willl definitely use the Pet Hotel whenever I travel.. \r

I've been meaning to post this ever since Hurricane Irene. I'm a local and use AC Pet Hotel for doggie day care, grooming, and boarding when I'm away. My dog loves it there! I happened to be away when the area was evacuated for the hurricane. Of course, I was nervous, but I knew Scott and Jackie would take care of Scooter as if he were their own dog. I spoke with and/or got voicemails from Scott once or twice a day durning the whole ordeal and got a running account of their evacuation adventure! My dog came home very happy, and when we went recently for a grooming, he was as happy as ever when we pulled up. Great place and great people!

I have been bringing my dog here for numerous years now, and I'm content with it.
I wouldn't say it was an A+ kennel, but about a C. They take care of my dog, clean up after it, walk it, and play with it. What more could you ask from a kennel?
My only regret is actually taking my dog there, if that makes any sense. The workers there TRULY cared for my dog. The girls were busting their butts walking all the dogs and try to take care of them. My one question is why won't they allow people to take a tour of the kennel area? I've been told for ""insurance"" purposes, but EVERY other kennel I've ever been to along the East Coast, allows you to take a tour of where your dog will be staying. So what're you trying to hide?

What bothered me most is that throughout the years the owner, Scott, turned into someone who could care less about the dogs. He's ALWAYS on the phone. One day, it took me almost an hour to check in because I had to talk to him about medicine, and he just would not get off the phone or he wouldn't stop ordering his employees around. There was a person checking out at the same time and he got into an argument with the customer because the dog looked like it weighed more than what the vet paper said. I overheard and the dog went to the vet the day before, and he still had the nerve to try to overcharge the couple. It honestly seems like the ""we treat your dogs as if they are our own"" is a load of junk because of Scott. He only cares about the money, point blank. Jackee, his wife, is the sweetest woman you could ever meet. She always tried to sell me clothes and products. She genuinely cares about the animals. I would always see her walking dogs outside and helping out around the kennel. I wish she was the one sitting behind the counter checking dogs in and out. She's a lot more pleasant than Scott and I believe if she was more in charge, the place would be doing a lot more business.

May be pet friendly, but it's definitely not people friendly. Granted, it is extremely convenient due to the fact that it's right in Atlantic City, but I, personally, would look around first.

I am also choosing to remain anonymous because I feel as though I have every right to state my opinion on a REVIEW site, and I find it ridiculous that they feel as though they can scare people into deleting the truth. I am not being vindictive or lying to make myself look good, I am just putting MY experience out there, and whether or not you want to believe it, is entirely up to you.

MY DOG LOVES THE PET HOTEL AND SO DO I! I was very impressed with the operation. The staff is great with the pets.\r
My dog was scared when I brought him in but did not want to leave when I picked him up. He had his own large gated accommodations with lots of room to run around. The Pet Hotel is in a good location\r
with lots of free parking. I was able to walk their from my hotel and found the area safe and clean. Everytime I visited, Ceasar was either being walked outside by one of the staff, playing with other small dogs (with my permission), or receiving lots of attention by one of the staff. He was brushed everyday and received a complimentary bandana that matched his collar and leash. The day I drove over in the rain, they were walking Ceasar with a large golf umbrella. When they took him inside they cleaned and dried his paws. They followed all of my instructions and fed him only the food and treats I brought for him. I was able to check in late Friday night and check him out at\r
5:00 pm the day we left. They made it very convenient according to my schedule. They were eager to comply with all of my requests. I was instructed to call the pet hotel 1/2 hour before checking Ceasar out so he could be walked and ready to go. When I arrived I was amazed to receive his bed and blanket back right out of the washer and dryer. They returned the extra food and treats I left. I asked about his walks and feedings. They showed me the records that the staff keeps, listing the times of each of his 4 daily walks, feedings and comments regarding what he did on his walks, and how much he ate each time he was fed. They even fed him at the same times he normally eats at home, even though they were different from their regular feeding times. They offered me a complimentary bottle of Poland Springs water for Ceasars ride home. This is a very well run kennel that caters to each dog individually. I guess that is why they are referred to as a pet hotel instead of a kennel. I'm glad I found them and will be returning soon. It is a big relief to find a pet hotel that I can trust with Ceasar.\r

My original review is being edited because after insulting the A.C. Pet Hotel with ALL the details of our negative experience on City Search, I was sent a certified letter threatening that I removed the review or ""consult an attorney"" to ""prepare for my defense"" due to ""substantial damages"" that they ""would seek"".

I'm not taking my review down. I have the right to leave negative feedback due to a negative experience. I will take out more of the detailed back-and-forth I experienced with the hotel employees, including names.

REVIEW
After leaving the A.C. Pet Hotel, my wife and I looked at each other worried. We both commented on the fact that the place smelled of urine and were appalled by the pee-soaked doggy diaper pads we saw laying on the floor near the entrance. We had absolutely no choice but to leave him there for a few days. Our flight was leaving in three hours and if we went looking for another daycare, it meant missing our flight and loosing the cost of 5 airline tickets. When my wife picked up our dog, she was assured that he was walked 4x a day, however; he and his bed were wrought with the smell of of urine. My wife had to wash him THREE TIMES to get the smell out and I washed his bed twice. It still smelled and instead of washing IT a third time, I tossed it in the trash. When I called the A.C. Pet Hotel to inform them of the shape they returned our dog in, the owner was extremely defensive, but offered to give our dog a bath if we brought him back the next day. NO! The notion that I should even have to go out of my way to return him to their establishment to CLEAN HIM was absurd. He is 6 years old. Yes, like every dog he has an occasional accident but he has never A. peed where he sleeps or B. sleeps in his bed smelling of urine. I've worked in the publishing industry now for half my life (We've received dozens of negative reviews mind you)...and if your confident in your product, one fact stands the test of time - bad publicity is good publicity.

Two life-long dog owners, NEW to the N.J. area strongly advise you not to leave your pet here. If you're going to book a place off of the internet, call ahead of time and if you can; take the time to visit with the pet hotel days before drop-off. We did so and found a GREAT pet hotel off the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing. I won't post their info, a quick Google search will suffice.

My local pet hotel was booked July 4th weekend. My\r
friend recommended the AC Pet Hotel, and I am grateful that she did. I was lucky to secure a reservation because of a last minute cancellation. They treated my dog like a princess. They delivered everything they claimed during our telephone conversation, and more. I was allowed to visit Chanel during the day, and even took her to a dog beach they recommended. I called the pet hotel 30 minutes before picking up Chanel, as instructed. She was fed, walked, brushed, packed up, and ready for our ride home, when I arrived. When I pulled up to the building, I saw 7, or 8 employees each walking a dog, and handling them with undivided attention, and love. Inside there were 2 people behind the desk assisting customers. One employee bringing a dog out to its owner; and another sitting on the floor playing with the small dogs in the front gated area. I could see the staff playing with the dogs in their back indoor area, and large dogs were being played with in the back yard, on the monitors behind the check-in desk. It was very busy with pets checking in. Everything seemed to be handled in an organized fashion. The staff was very caring, accommodating,and\r
professional. Prior to departing, I saw the owner run out to a customer who had just picked up her dog. She asked if she could bring their dog back to the pet hotel, so the dog could be brushed, and if she wanted doggy perfume when her dog was finished. Prior to leaving they asked me if I wanted a bottle of water for Chanel's ride home. The pet hotel is small, and personalized. The staff is great. I found the facilities to be clean, safe, and in a convenient location.\r
I AM NOT EASILY IMPRESSED, YET I LEFT THE ATLANTIC CITY PET HOTEL WITH A LASTING POSITIVE IMPRESSION. I highly recommend them.

After reading the reviews, i wanted to see for myself what the ""MONSTROSITY"" is about the AC pet hotel.I have 4 dogs; I have a Rotweiller/American Bulldog mix, a chihuahua, A Lhaso, and A VERY obese King Charles Spaniel (LOL). I called them and asked to check the place out, and the owner Lynn told me that i could come anytime between 10 AM and 4 PM, but i wanted to catch them at a time when they least expected it, so i showed up at 5 just out of spite.the place was actually VERY clean!i got to catch their main three employees at the same time, and what shocked me the most:all three employess have dogs of different sizes!!So theres someone that can obviously take care of my Max because she has a Pitbull, whereas the very sweet guy i spoke to can take care of my spaniel because he owns a cocker spaniel! The owner owns a chihuahua and the other employee has a shih-tzu.It was like perfection.Anyway so i had them stay for 3 nights, and when i came to visit spontaneously, they smelled fine, seemed happy to see me, and didnt seem hungry or anything.I was VERY content with their work, i gave the employees a tip!!!seriously, give the place a chance.Yeah they might not be the biggest place, but they definitely do care about the dogs!

I live in the Atlantic City area, and I vacation all the time to visit my children.I have two dogs and a cat...A bully breed, a shih-tzu, and a cat.My cat only gets alone with the shih-tzu, and my bigger dog does not get along with animals in GENERAL.When i called, I spoke to a woman named Stephanie, who told me that anytime from 10 am to 4 i could come check out the place.I was hesitant because of the reviews, but indeed i checked it out.Heads up to anybody reading this...I'm going to be realistic. When i went to inspect the place, yes, there was a VERY SLIGHT odor, and when i walked in there was a young woman on her hands and knees scrubbing down the floor, the playpen that the smaller dogs can stay in, and the side of the counter.ANY kennel you go to, there's going to be an odor.Dogs pee, they make bowel movements. They're DOGS.I showed up unexpectantly and when i saw this girl on the floor cleaning, the place just showed to me that its the opposite of what everyone claims. When i was taken in the back, the grooming area seemed a little cramped, but i was worried about my animals being boarded in cages, and together.Scott informed me that upstairs is where my cat would stay, and my two dogs could be separated in to different areas.i was completely SHOCKED to look through the window to the cage room.there WAS no cages! not to mention there was yet ANOTHER staff member sitting on the floor playing with a couple of dogs!yes, i will repeat, the place had a slight odor, but if you walk into a kennel that smells like roses EVERY SINGLE TIME...theres something fishy going on.the pricing was VERY reasonable.i knew that my pitbull would be played with one on one and my shih-tzu would play with the owners malteses during the day. There is always somebody upstairs to snuggle with my baby kitty and let him know he's loved.and the greatest thing was, all of my pets BEDS were washed! that shocked me!There was also a backyard with a roof that i saw through the security cameras at the check in desk...my bigger dog was able to do her business out there since shes a runner when it comes to being handled on the leash.\r
\r
If you want to board your dog at a place where yes, the place smells like perfection everytime you step in, only to have your dog stuffed into a cage, have no play time (or pay extra), and hardly go out...then go to the kennel twenty minutes from Atlantic City. They wanted to charge me extra money to play with my cat...RIDICULOUS!\r
Atlantic City Pet Hotel and grooming had people that were very sincere, truthful, honest, and were very down to earth.I now bring them every couple of months just for day care! its amazing...\r

The staff is wonderfull!! The facilities are clean!! No foul odor at all. All 3 of our girls love going there. They get to stay together in one of the suites. They all get walked 4 times a day. The ""professional"" dog walkers in the area have been bad mouthing this family runned business here on the review board. They are on a side street NOT on a main road. Don't believe the bad reviews!!!!!! Scottie the owner is so sweet and attentive to all the ""children"" that stay at his hotel!! Their groomer Bonnie is a God send!!!!!!!!!! This women can work miracles!! I wish she could transform me like she does to my Rough Collie. They are very affordable and convienently located accross from the Surf Baseball Stadium. They will even come pick up your pet. It is a SAFE neighborhood!! I don't know where that nay sayer was, but it obviously wasn't the ATLANTIC CITY PET HOTEL!!!!!\r

They saved my family vacation! Scott and Company really cared for my three dogs! One of my older dogs needed medication and special food! They did a better job than I could have done. I ran out of her special food and they went to the store to get new food! They bathed my dogs and even washed all they blankets and sheets. Ignore, any negative ratings and reports this place is a WINNER! You can leave your pets with peace of mind! Thanks! You guys are the best and life savers!

I have been using the Atlanntic City Pet Hotel for boarding, grooming and daycare. I can't say enough good things about them. They are great with my pets and do an exceptional job. Many of my friends and neighbors use them as well, and are very satisfied with their care. They have been a lifesaver on many occasions. Whether I have last minute business travel or a much needed vacation, I know I can travel with peace of mind. Whether I am at home in NY or at my home in Margate I always use the Atlantic City Pet Hotel because they are the best with my pets. My pets love the personal and individual attention they get from the entire staff They are in a great location and available 24 hours a day. When I return home from vacation or business I want my pets picked up or brought to my home as soon as I land. It is a pleasure not to mention a great savings to be able to pick themn up according to my schedule and needs. Each of my pets have different needs and requirements, and the AC Pet Hotel carries out exactly as I ask. My pets get lots of playtime and they don't charge extra. My big one gets lots of excercise in addition to his 4 individual walks/runs. My littlle one gets to stay up front with other small dogs her size thay play well together. The pet hotel also puts sanatized beds and toys as well as pink and blue dog houses for them to use. I could go on and on about the special services like brushing the pets every day anbd cleaning their eyes, but I think I said enough. Anyone who would say anything negative about this pet hotel is either a jelous competion, someone who has a personal vandetta or just has a few screws loose. Anyone can contact me personally and ask me any questions, if you have any doubts. You can personallly check them out. Your pets will be happy that you did, and you can travel with the same peace of mind that I do.\r

I was pleasantly surprised to find this wonferfdul facility.\r
They are convenienty located in a safe residential area just blocks from the Hlton Hotel and Casino, the beach and boardwalk, in a landmark building. The facility is clean, the staff is excellent, and most importantly they give tender loving care to all of their guests. They are available 24 hours a day and provide many unique special services at no additional cost. The exrtras include 4 walks a day, lots of playtime, plus many additional services with no extra hidden costs or charges. THE ATLANTIC CITY 24 HOUR PET HOTEL SAVED MY FAMILIES VACATION. We could have stayed at any of the Luxury Casinos for less money but we chose thre Sheraton because they claim they accept dogs. They certainly do BUT you can't leave the dogs alone in the room. We went to AC for a family vacation to go to the beach, pool, boardwalk, amusement parks, and the casinos. We only found out that we could not leave our dog alone in our room after we checked in and gave our credit card. We were very upset and thought our vacation was ruined until we called around and got execellent recommendations and references on the AC Pet Hotel. We called them at 8:30pm and they gave us lots of information about them and BEST OF ALL they told us we could visit our dog everyday and even take her out also without an additional charge. They were very sympathetic to our situation and invited usover immediately for an inspection tour. They picked us up annd brought us back to our Hotel. They even tracked down our Vets home number since the office was closed and the pet hotel could not accept our dog without current vaccination records. We had a great vacation and our dog loved her stay at the Pet Hotel. They should open additional locations since they offer a fabulous vacation for pets at a very affordable cost.\r

The AC Pet Hotel is located in a residential neighborhood on a side street less than two miles from the AC Casinos. We have been boarding our fur children (four dachshunds and one cat) at the AC Pet Hotel on a regular basis over the past several years while traveling and on an as-needed basis after being referred to them by a friends. \r
\r
Our dogs are always greated with enthusiasm, affection and fussed over. We never worry about their safey and care because Jackie and Scott run a professional service with the help of full-time support staff. One of the services provided is dog walking, which our dogs always get excited over. When we return, our fur children are always happy and they continue to play while we get a full report on the care they received in our absence. \r
\r
I have been in the back rooms many times and it is kept very clean. The staff has been trained to not only care for the dogs but they play with them as well. Any accidents are cleaned up immediately. No animal is permitted to stay unless they are up on their shots and the well being of all the animals at the Pet Hotel always comes first.\r
\r
I would highly recommend the Pet Hotel to anyone looking to board their dog or cat, who are looking for peace of mind while away. Kudos to the AC Pet Hotel.

We have been boarding our dog at AC Pet Hotel since he was about 6 months old. He loves it there and they love him. We get to play in AC and he gets to play with the other dogs at the hotel. The place is NOT smelly and dirty. It never has been. And I was dropping my dog off this past Sunday when the previous person was picking up their dog so what they saw/smelled - I have no idea....... Scott and his crew are always professional, attentive, and great to my dog.

For our recent trip to AC we boarded our dogs at Atlantic City Pet Hotel and Grooming. We have never taken our dogs there before but because the place we normally take them too is closed on Sundays we decided to board them in AC so that they were close to where we were staying. \r
We found them online when we goggled pet boarding in AC. Upon calling I talked to the owner who was very nice. He stressed that the dogs get bottled water, the facility was cleaned twice daily and the dogs would be walked 4 times a day. This sounded great to me and my girlfriend and we decided to take our dogs there. DO NOT BE FOOLED. IT IS DISGUSTING!!! When we arrived the first thing that is unappealing is that the facility is on a main road with no room to realty let the dogs out. But we figured that wasnt too big of a deal. When we entered I was overwhelmed with the smell of urine and feces. The floor was dirty and not what we had pictured by the description we were given. (Notice when you go to their website that there are no pictures of the floor or back room where they keep the dogs just a brief video or the front area that doesnt do it justice.) My girlfriend did not want to leave them there but we had just driven 3 hours and had no other options. So finally she said ok and we left.\r
We were supposed to stay in AC for 2 days and nights but only booked the pet hotel for one night due to the fact they said if we booked it for 2 night and left early we would still have to pay for the second night and we wanted to make sure it was place we would want to keep our dogs for 2 night. After we dropped our dogs off we knew we were leaving the next day. There was no way I was going to subject my dogs to that environment. \r
Now out of our 3 dogs. One of them is only 1 and is pretty hyper. But she has been boarded over 20 times at 2 other places and has never come back dirty or smelling. When were arrived the next day the place was still dirty and smelled of urine and feces. I know they said they clean two times a day but I dont think the bottle of febreze next to the register qualifies as cleaning. I just wanted to get my dogs out of there. When they brought my dogs out I was so upset. The first one they brought out was covered in water and puke. The girl said she just spilled her water bowl but you would think that they would try to wipe it off her before they brought her out to me. All three of my dogs were shaking nonstop. I was very unhappy to say the least. I just wanted to leave but the owner was busy on the phone and took his good old time as if I wasnt there. He didnt even say thanks for your business. Im not even sure if he put down the phone to ring me up. Either way our drive home was awful. The smell from the dogs filled the car and we road with the windows down the whole way home. I had to give them 2 baths each to get the smell off.\r
I normally do not write reviews for anything, good or bad. But I am animal lover. We both volunteer at an SPCA that has up to 50 dogs at any time and none of the dogs smell like mine smelled when we picked them up.\r
I will never go back. I would rather cancel my vacation than go back. \r
Now I'm sure they are going to write a response saying my dogs were bad or were dirty when I took them there (which they werent) but if you are even thinking about taking your dog or cat here I would ask to see the back room and make them refund your money if you arent satisfied, which I'm sure they wont do. And have a backup plan. I have boarded my dogs over 20 times and have never had an experience close to this.(and thats not in a good way.) BEWARE!!!\r

Before our trip to Atlantic City we tried to find a pet friendly hotel to stay at with our dog. There is only one pet friendly hotel in AC and they were completely booked so we started to look for a kennel or doggie day care. The only place we could find in the area was the AC Pet Hotel. I was a little skeptical about leaving my baby there because there were some terrible reviews, but since it seemed like the only option I hoped that the good reviews were right and the others were just making things up.. unfortunately that was not the case. When we pulled up to the AC pet hotel the outside looked a little shady, upon walking in the place reeked of urine. I was told that they were in the middle of cleaning, so again I was optimistic that one of the dogs had just had an accident and they were cleaning it and that was the reason for the disgusting smell. I left my dog there over night and when I walked out of the place I asked my boyfriend who was with me what he thought, he said if it was for more than one night the dog would absolutely not be staying there and he couldn't believe how bad it smelled..like a combination of urine and cleaning products poured on top. I called the pet hotel later that evening to check on my dog and it sounded like the owner was reading from a card and not actually having a conversation with me. When we returned to pick the dog up the next morning the place still had the same disgusting smell. We paid and got my dog out of there as soon as possible! My dog goes to doggie day care 1-2 a week and loves it, he gets excited while we are on our way there and when I pick him up I am always greeted with kisses and a very happy boy... when we picked him up from here he ignored me in the car for a few minutes and he reeked of urine! I just went back and read some of the reviews again and I am sorry that I ever put my boy through this. I am also shocked at the rude responses the owner Scott has left in response to peoples negative comments. If you ask me it screams out how unprofessional he is. A professional business owner would not yell at his clients and say that nothing is his fault. I will NEVER bring my dog to this place again and if you are smart you will not either!

I live near Atlantic City and this is a pet hotel that is near my house and once I read all the great reviews on this place, I was happy leaving my dog there. As I dropped off my dog, the owner Scott made me believe that he was really caring for the dogs. I left the country so I personally called him atleast twice a week to check up on my dog. Scott kept on making me feel like my dog was doing exceptionally well and was having a blast at the hotel. I called about 2 days before picking my dog up to warn them that I was coming to pick him up. By the time I got there, they were not ready at all. I had to stay for about 30 minutes extra waiting for them to look for all of my dog's belongings. Also, I was completely horrified to see what had happened to my dog. My dog's paws were completely yellow from his own pee. I was utterly disgusted especially since my dog is a Maltese with a beautiful white coat. Besides having yellow feet, my dog had mats all around his body from head to tail. I just simply could not grasp the fact that this hotel also offered a grooming business. How were these owners able to hand a dog back to his/her owner when the dog is completely dirty and has mats all around the dog's body. Its been 3 days since I got my Maltese back and I have bathed him. His feet is still yellow and I had spent hours trying to get the mats out of his hair. Nothing has worked. Now i need to wait atleast a few weeks for my dog's hair to grow back before he can turn back to normal. Also, the owners kept on telling me that they brushed and showered my dog basically everyday since he got dirty everyday and that they brought him out more than 4 times a day for his walk. If they brushed my dog, my dog would not have any mats. And if they had brought him out to pee and poop, my dog would not have yellow feet. I just can't believe how I had trusted in this place but now I will let family and friends know that leaving it at the Atlantic City Pet Hotel is a bad decision.

Pros: the owners seemed friendly and helpful

Cons: How my dog turned out

My husband and I brought our dog for the first time so we could enjoyf a weekend of fun at the beach. We had read the reviews, and heard it was a great place to board our pup. When we arrived, we saw it was very small, and the dogs were all lined up in cages. When we walked in to see where our dog would be sleeping, we saw all the dogs in small cages, all barking like when you walk into the SPCA. When my husband returned to pick up our pup, he was found in a cage which had been broken by a previous dog, and his bed, which is his security blanket, not even in the cage with him. The only positive thing about the whole upsetting experience was that Scott saw that we were apprehensive about having him stay, and offered to waive the cancellation fee. NEVER would I leave my dog there again.

I have been a repeat client of The Atlantic City Pet Hotel for a few years, and I can't say enough postive things.\r
The owners Scott and Jackie are two caring people who my dog Pumpkin loves to be with.I have left Pumkin for a two week stay, and when I went to pick her up she was so calm and content, that I felt neglected.\r
Really, my wife and I feel very comfortable with the entire facility and staff..\r
Boonie the groomer is great, and Pumpkin is happy to be groomed. When she visits the Hotel she not caged in and left to walk around. This is great.\r
Thank you, Scott and Jackie.\r

The best way to figure out how a place treats your dog is how she reacts when she sees them again... Every other place leaves my dog shaking, but not Atlantic City Pet Hotel. As soon as she gets out of the car, she runs toward them, her tail wagging! She loves them, and this means we can go on trips without worrying about her. We discovered them by accident when vacationing in Atlantic City, and now, we won't leave her anywhere else! We will drive two hours each way, so that she can stay there, because no other place will do! They give her more love, care, attention and opportunities to play than we could possibly do at home. And- they are open 24 hours a day, which- when you have a full-time job is rare and important. We cannot say enough about how awesome this place is! The owners are loving and sweet and my dog is happy and well cared for... Definitely worth the commute!!!!

Cons: No drawbacks (other than I wish I lived closer to them!)

Scott and Jackie the owners of the AC Pet Hotel are the best. They sincerely care about our dog Pumpkin. Believe it or not, Pumpkin is excited when we pull up to drop her off. We have left Pumpkin numerous times and feel comfortable about leaving her. They treat her like one of their own pets. We take her there to be groomed at least twice a month. When I go to pick her up she is walking around and not caged in. Very often she is sitting next to Scott. This is a great place. Thanks for taking such good care of Pumpkin. \r

Cons: Absolutely none

The owner is Scott who is a really nice guy. He is fair and trustworthy and runs a good business. I like leaving my dog champ there mostly for daycare (although I have boarded him there as well) and grooming. He seems to like it and likes being around other animals. I would recommend anyone with a pet to call Scott as you will not be disappointed.

I am not one for writing reviews, however. the Atlantic City Pet Hotel took such amazing care of my dog I had to take the time to write one. It was a Holiday weekend and my family wanted to meet in Atlantic City for a Holiday dinner. With everyone spread out and my son unable to leave Princeton University for the weekend, it was the perfect solution for everyone to get together. My problem was that there was not anyone available to care for our 5th child. The Hotels don't allow dogs, and our dog has never been kenneled. I did call a pet sitter who comes 3 times a day to walk and feed, but I felt terrible leaving him home alone 24 hours a day. I made calls to friends who have dogs and they recommended that I take my dog to the Atlantic City Pet Hotel, so that we could travel both ways with him, place him where he would be pampered day and night, and we could see him during the day. It was a sold out weekend, yet the pet hotel still treated our little boy like royalty, and made him feel welcome. They gave him a nice sized individual room with a freshly cleaned bed and blanket, bottled water served in a dish fresh from the dishwasher. While we were there, we observed a few different people individually walking each dog. We asked for a complete inspection tour of the facility upon arrival, and they were more than happy to. I observed the grooming room, where there was someone giving each dog a daily brushing, cleaning each dogs eyes, and making sure each dog got a bow or bandana. I visited during the rain and they were walking each dog with a large golf umbrella, and someone was drying and cleaning their wet paws upon return. I was told that the dogs that refused to go out in the rain went to the Pet Hotel block long yard, that was covered to prevent the dogs from getting wet. I was told that each dog was escorted and stayed with until they finished their business. In the back area , I observed staff alternating large dogs for playtime. In the middle I saw staff playing with small dogs. In the front reception area was the owner holding a king Cavalier, and a kennel Assistant holding and playing with a small long haired dog. They told me that the parents of the two dogs they were playing with upfront, did not want them playing with other dogs, so the staff plays with them. My dog was happy when we visited, but did not want to leave. They really did treat him as if he was their own. I had a wonderful family weekend and my dog made new friends ,and found a home away from home. I am a Long Island CPA and have very limited travel time. I already made reservations at the AC Pet Hotel when we go on our Christmas/New Years Florida vacation and Caribbean Cruise. and for our 10 day Caribbean Vacation after tax season. I feel confident knowing the owners live on the premises, in a safe, area with cameras on the dogs 24 hrs a day. You have to visit to see what a happy loving facility the Atlantic City Pet Hotel offers. I hope they update their web sight to show what a wonderful facility they have and list all the special services your pet will receive during their stay. Please feel free to contact with any questions. As a CPA, I thrive on repeat and referred business and I am sure this facilty does as well.

My Spanky (Boston Terrier) loves to visit here. He starts to get excited when we exit the GSP because he knows he will be loved and cared for and have lots of playmates. He leaps from the car and runs right to the door. I'd say that he's the best judge of this pet hotel. I am very fussy about my pet. He's 9 and in good health and I know he will enjoy his visit to Atlantic City as much as I do - maybe more. This establishment has passed inspection with a 100% on every inspection. I've seen the certificates. There is a wonderful manager and the staff is very caring and careful. I live in Brooklyn, NY and my e-mail is Mickeydoll714@msn. My name is Michel and I am a real person with a real dog.

When I checked in, there were also others at the same time. Since I was never there, I asked some of the others what their experiences were. Although they all responded positively, it was easy to tell by the reactions of their dogs as the employees of this place accepted each dog. People told me that when their dogs see the building, their dogs start straching on their car window, and can't wait to get inside! While I was waiting for my check-in, another dog was leaving, and I inquired with the Owner how his dog appeared. I was advised that their dog always comes out happy, and they always bring him there for both boarding, and grooming. As I'm\r
a table player in The Casino, I'm not sure what time that I will be picking up the dog. I was clearly explained the various options, and given an after hours telephone number which I was instructed to call. Before leaving my dog, I asked to see where he was staying, because I had read the other reviews, and wanted to see for myself what the real truth was! Well, I would have driven back home if it was anything like any of the really bad reviews that I read.....but, it wasn't. It was clean, comfortable, and a spacious accommodation. I just don't understand where some of these ""Reviewers"" got their information. (Note: What I saw was exactly what I was told by other people who dropping their dogs off, and were picking them up.) When I picked up by dog at 9:45pm, there was someone waiting to give me my dog. My dog was happy, and clean, and I was very pleased with this service.

My boxers are like my children and I want only the best for them. Both are very active and need lots of attention.\r
The pet hotel provides them with everything I give them at home and more. They love their long walks, lots of play time, and the love and attention they get from the wonderful caring staff. They especially love playing with other dogs that are the same size and temperment. \r
\r
When I tell them they are going to the pet hotel in Atantic City they race to the car. As soon as we arrive they are jumping out the door and running into the front door of what has become their second home. \r
\r
There is another family with 2 boxers that go there frequently as well. If they are not staying on the same dates, one of the staff members calls their family, and they bring the (2) boxers from Margate for doggy daycare so they can play with my guys.\r
\r
What a wonderful clean, safe and happy place for my boys to enjoy. I also love the fact that i can take them out during the day when we start to miss them.

I owned my own Pet Grooming Salon for many years, so it has been very hard to find a Groomer and Pet establishment I can trust, and have total piece of mind!\r
The Atlantic City Pet Hotel gives my pets the same loving care and professional grooming as if I was doing it myself! The dogs love the facility, and staff. I would not send my pets to any other Groomer, or Pet Hotel. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants nothing but the best for their pets.

Pros: Pets get Royal Treatment

.

If they would spend as much time cleaning the place as they do posting phony reviews, maybe I wouldn't be writing this. This is the worse place to leave your pet. I got one smell and looked at the dirty cages and took my dog to another place in the next town.Too bad this is the only place close to the casinos. If you love your pet you will do a little driving to make sure they are well taken care of. This place stinks.

Cons: the whole place

I will never take my dog back here again. The facility stinks of urine and toxic cleaners. Dogs are wearing diapers and she was terrified when I picked her up. Don't go by the reviews posted by the owner - review the facility yourself - DEMAND to see ""behind the curtain"" and ask for 5 LOCAL REFERENCES...they won't be able to provide them because everyone in Atlantic County knows they are the worst facility.

Hi my name is Mark and I?m the hotel manager. I would just like to say if you're looking for a fun, safe, loving environment for your dog or cat this is the place you want to be. I am responsible for feeding, walking, playing and caring for your pets. I sterilize and clean your pets play and sleep area every morning and every night. The owners adore dogs and if your dog is friendly they give you the option of letting your dog have free rain of the place, so this way there never caged unless to sleep, or if you prefer to have your pet separate that's fine too. We do have diapers and ONLY use them at the pet owner?s request, as some people do use them at home and don?t want to break there dogs routine. You are also free to check up on your pet or just visit to see how they're doing. I got into this business because I love dogs so I joined the family over at Atlantic City Pet Hotel and Grooming and could not imagine myself anywhere else. But please don't take my word for it. Stop in and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed, and that?s a promise.

I was referred by both CitiSearch and my Casino Hotel. I love Atlantic City but I love my Maltese more. I would never put Winston in a Kennel and have had bad experiences with pet sitters. The AC Pet Hotel is amazing. They are minutes from my Hotel/Casino. The staff is wonderful. the facility is clean and adorable. They are truly a dog and dog lovers dream. They give lots pf attention to each dog. They gets lots of attention and play time. Their sleep areas are large and clean and they spend very little time in them. The dogs are either playing up front, in the middle area, the large back area, or the large enclosed yard, always supervised by a dog loving staff member. I just returned from AC and Winston was so happy there that I am reserving a place for Wnsten when I take my 2 week vacation in Feb. Check them out. You will be very happy. PS They are on a lovely tree lined street in a safe neighborhood filled with single homes, far away from the riff raff of the trypical Atlantic City streets.

Pros: everything was great!!!

Cons: I have to travel 100 miles every time I want to go on vacation, but it is worth it!

This is the perfect vacation place for my dog. They have lots of fun. It's a great experience because Spiky gets to interact with other dogs. The staff is extrememly nice and they love and care for my dog when I am away. The groomer is an excellent groomer. There is no other place in New Jersey like it. I recommend the Pet Hotel for all dog and cat owners who want the best care for their pets.

Pros: not enough space to write them all..THEY ARE FABULOUS!!!!

Cons: non I can find

I take my poodle to the Pet Hotel whenever I travel for business or vacation. Misty loves it there. When I tell her she is going to the Pet Hotel she gets all excited. She gets lots of attention and play time there. She gets her own air conditioned room with a bed and stereo music. When we arrive, she can't wait to see Baby the Pet Hotel mascot, then looks for Cookie, Simon, Buddy, Thea, Angel and Star, some of the regulars that come every weekend, that she loves to play with. It's so adorable to see her play during doggy play time. It looks like Club Med for dogs. I recommend the Pet Hotel to everyone I know who has pets. I also take Misty there for grooming. They make her look like a show dog. It's a big relief to know that Misty is well taken care of and receives lots of love when I travel. They are very deserving of the awards they received for Best Pet Hotel and Best Grooming,

I am shocked to see positive reviews of the Atlantic City Pet Hotel. They must have written them themselves. THE PLACE IS FILTHY. STINKS OF URINE. Dogs are in diapers so they don't have to walk them. You have to be crazy or really hate your animal to leave her there.

I love to come to Atlantic City and now so does my Spanky. I live in Brooklyn, NY and have access to the best kennels in the world. Spanky and I would rate this one up there with the best. He gets so excited when we pull up that he jumps out of the car as soon as I open the door and races up to the kennel door and starts to jump up to the window so they can see him and let him in. He and all the dogs get special, one on one attention. If your pet has special medical needs the staff will take care of that. If your pet is on a special diet, the staff will take care of that. they get walked a minimum of 4 times a day - usually more- including at 10pm. they leave out toys for the dogs and play with them. No dog ever leaves there dirty. The place is inspected by the proper authorities and they pass 100% every time. I have watched and know that the staff and owners are kind, patient, caring people and would never do anything that could possibly hurt an animal. they are always cleaning up because ""dogs will be dogs"" and Scott and the staff never get angry or yell at the dogs. They like to say that ""it's a dog hotel and we don't charge extra for the slips!"" Dogs truly do rule here. My name is Michel and I am a real person with a real dog. My e-mail is Mickeydoll714@msn. You can't please everyone but I believe that the negative comments are made by people with axes to grind or those wishing to hurt this perfectly great place.
