During my brief stay in Ramsey, New Jersey, I came across Brady's At the Station at the train tracks. The Restaurant was very inviting so I decided to go in. The hostess greeted me with a big smile but I opted for the bar as I was unsure whether to eat or not. Bob the bartender greeted me in a smooth professional manner, asked if I was eating, and quickly set up my drink.

I decided to have an appetizer for the late afternoon out on the patio. I placed our order indoors with Bob and proceeded outdoors. While enjoying the local atmosphere I noticed a group of individuals enjoying a few beers together. I quickly found out that it was John Brady, the owner, treating a few friends to a drink. He was always getting up and opening doors for his patrons and talking and mingling with everyone making sure everything was okay.

I ordered the mussels in marinara sauce with a glass of wine. I also ordered garlic toast. Which was not on the menu, but the kitchen staff promptly made. Amy, my waitress and a 5 year member, was gracious and exuberant in her duties. She was very attentive and made sure everyone was taken care of. I had a brief conversation with John Brady and he stated that great customer service and consistently good food are the main strengths of his establishment. Imagine my surprise when I saw him paying for his own table with his American Express card. You don't see that very often if at all!

Pros: Great Upper outside deck

.

I do not like going here during the busy times, it's miserably loud. I prefer the off hours. Great burgers, fries and soup. Parking sometimes isn't too easy. Nice tavern atmosphere.

Terrible food, rude service, weak drinks, and outrageous prices await you at Brady's!! If the train station was not across the street, or if they had the benefit of being the ONLY game in town, this place would surely close! For friendlier service and a better time, try Ramsey's liquor around back of Brady's.

Pros: Location, hours of operation

Cons: Just about everything else, especially prices and service!!

Trackside Inn has decent food but I think it is a bit overpriced. It tends to be very crowded and for that reason is very loud. It is more of a Tavern than a restaurant. The bar is a very active place. I know a lot of people who really like it but it's not at the top of my list of places to patronize.
