New Jersey Books Inc

This book store is privately owned and competes with the other Rutgers-sponsored bookstores. I wouldn't recommend NJ Books. It is extremely small and the line usually stretches out the door for textbooks. It moves slowly as each student must move to the counter, hand over their book list and wait for a cashier to get them from the back. Inevitably, someone screws up their schedule and holds the line up. Try another bookstore!

Although I find that I end up going to the Rutgers Bookstore for everything or I just buy everything online. It's not that this store is dirty or anything like that. The service is just slow because you have to go to the back of the store, where there's a counter with 3-4 people working to get everyone's books. That's right, you can't get your own book, someone else has to get it for you. Which is a huge pain for used books because you can get some really lousy quality books and then have the guy go back and hunt for another one. Pretty annoying.

Just buy your books online.

I really don't like this store and get angry when I have to get a book here. Some people like the store because some books are a little less than the Rutgers Book Store. I hate how you can't choose your own book and someone else goes in the back to get it for you. Forget about parking. There is street parking on Somerset as well as some on College Avenue, but the spots are always full. During the beginning of the year, the line can be out the door. They have a terrible return policy (sometimes you have less than 3 days to return your book) and I would not reccomend this store to anyone.
