The games looked OK here--similar to the other casinos. We ate breakfast at the Mansion Cafe there, which has a Mardi Gras theme like the rest of the casino, and we were slightly disappointed by the interior design, service, and taste of the food. They do have six other dining spots (I am curious about the buffet place but didn't get to try it) and the House of Blues for music/entertainment. The casino is located sort of in the middle of the boardwalk, so it is not too much of a walk compared to, say, the Borgata. The gift shop had some OK souvenirs, such as a Mardi Gras mask, and the cashier was friendly. Lines were not crowded for us anywhere on the premises when we were there on January 1st and 2nd. We did not stay in the hotel so cannot comment on the hotel. Parking was for free for us.

This is one of our favorite casinos and we seem to do better here than some of the others. It has a walkway that leads to the Taj Mahal and Resorts which is very convenient. Usually is crowded but staff is friendly.

The Showboat Casino, in my opinion, is the place to have the most fun. The casino is absolutely clean, the staff is incredibly nice, and music fills the hallways regardless of what time you walk through.
Showboat is a true theme casino. Others, such as Caesar's, have people walking around in theme costumes and have decorations all over the place, but Showboat takes it a step further. Often times you'll find a Dixieland band playing right at the entrance of the casino from the boardwalk. People can't help but stop and watch, and sometimes even dance! I
Everyone there, from the dealers to the servers, is extremely helpful. It's a great casino to visit, and it's usually not very crowded. The only bad thing is that Showboat is located all the way at the end of the Boardwalk. If it's a nice day, though, it's worth it to take a stroll.
PROS: lots to do and see, House of Blues is there
CONS: needs an update, far down the Boardwalk

I enjoy Showboat, but it has a few detractors. First, it is very crowded. There are cheap parking lots nearby, so many people hang out at Showboat. Lines are usually very long and very slow-moving. Also, it is very far off the beatten path. The casino is a good 15 minute walk from the rest of the casinos on the strip of boardwalk in the area. Try to go on a weekday yo avoid the crowds!

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A HUGE FAN OF THE SHOWBOAT CASINO. I LOVE THE FUN, LIVELY ATMOSPHERE...NOT TO MENTION IT IS ONE OF THE FEW CASINOS WE ACTUALLY "WON" IN!! WE ARE PLANNING A TRIP THIS FEBRUARY 2006 AND WE ACTUALLY ARE STAYING IN THE HOTEL ITSELF. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TIME STAYING AT THE SHOWBOAT AND I AM EXCITED...THIS WILL BE THE FRIST TIME WE ARE STAYING AT THE SHOWBOAT. I WILL BE SURE TO COME BACK AND TELL MORE....DT, NY

The Showboat Casino and Hotel has a unique style to it, and it has a lot of different gambling options. They used to have a bowling alley upstairs for children, but I'm not sure if it is still there. The rooms are very nice, and they tend to be good to customers who have their card and come back often. Good Atlantic City gambling location.

Showboat is a very clean casino. The Mardi Gras theme is very cheerful. Staff has always been courteous. They recommend the buffet but be prepared for a long, long wait. Have never been able to get in because of my impatience when being told the wait is over an hour. The other restaurants are very nice. Have a Starbucks which is always a plus.

I have been to the Showboat a number of times and have always enjoyed myself. I have stayed over in the hotel a couple times and always had nice, clean rooms. The casino its self is nice. Decent size with a good amount of table games and slot machines. The slot machines are all different dollar amounts too...the nickle slots are addicting :)
I believe they have a new restauant there too, the House of Blues. Didn't eat there, but I checked out the menu and it looked good and reasonably priced.
The parking is always reasonable at the Showboat. You'll always have a good time at The Showboat.

Showboat is a bright and cheery casino. It has a Mardi Gras theme throughout, complete with musicians and beaded necklaces. I've always found the staff to be helpful. Usually there is a long line to check into the hotel, so I do think adding some extra staff in that respect would be really useful. The casino itself is clean, but there is no nonsmoking section unlike all the other casinos I have been in. I think this is a pretty big drawback and don't know why they can't add a nonsmoking section. They have a few restaurants and the absolute best buffet in the entire city. The buffet has salads, fruits, Italian food, seafood, Chinese food, etc... Be warned that the line to get in can be very long, so plan accordingly. Also, it could get pretty expensive if you don't have a coupon or comp. The hotel is nice, and I have always gotten a clean room. There isn't too many stores around on the boardwalk, as Showboat is at the very end. The Steel Pier is nearby and there is a walkway to the Taj Mahal casino next-door.
PROS: Fun theme, clean, best buffet
CONS: location, all smoking
