Bates Motel, stay away! It's very creepy.\r

Pictures/prices on the internet appear positive. However, upon arriving, the Motel looked like a throw-back to the 50's. Very unkept. Our room was not a typical motel entrance. We

After spending 2 nights at the Coral Sands motel in Ocean City NJ, I can honestly say I'm never going back. The sheets appeared to be unwashed as hair was found in them on the first night. The bathroom was dirty, the floor was unwashed

Great place to take the kids if looking for a relatively inexpensive getaway. They have a couple of efficiencys if your looking to cook. There's also a couple of larger apartment like units. A duplex is located next door as well. We've stayed in all three types over the last few years and will continue to do so. We love the location (1 block from boards ) and the manager and staff are always great. Parking is limited but available, the rooms are dated but clean. As long as you're not a cry-baby, whining, looking-for-something-to-complain-about type person, I highly recommend the Coral Sands.

The location was very convenient to the boardwalk, 1/2 block, and staff was very friendly.

The very small room (rm 104) could have been a little cleaner. The shower was disgusting, it had mold all over the tiles and door (seems like a small attempt by house cleaning to keep the bathrrom clean), water pipes ran through the shower and no effort was made to patch up the gaping hole of the pipes. The faucets in the sink were hard to turn on and off, I had to use a towel to get a good grip and the shower had only one spray setting... strong stream. The carpeting was old and it looked liked it was not vacuumed often, my daughter and I had to wear our sandals in the room and put our used towels down, even going to the bathroom. However, the beds were very comfortable; or we were just extremely exhausted from the day at the beach and boardwalk that we couldn't tell the difference, we stayed two nights. On our last day, at 9:30 am, the maid just unlocked the door and attempted to come in without knocking. After she realized the chain was on the door, she apologized and closed the door.

If you are looking for convenience, quiet and a reasonable place to stay, it's okay. Don't plan on parking a HUMV in their parking lot because it will be tight and take a throw rug with you to put over the carpet and bathroom floor.

The bed & breakfast we had booked for our Ocean City vacation turned out to be a nightmare. The rooms were dirty and the staff was rude. So in our search for a new place to stay, we ended up at the Coral Sands. They were more expensive than the bed & breakfast, but since they weren't too busy, the woman who runs the place let us stay for the same price we were paying at the bed & breakfast. She was very nice and threw in beach tags for us as well. They have a nice restaurant on site where we ate a lot of meals at. The rooms were nice and clean. I would recommend them!

PROS: Very nice, nice rooms
CONS:
