It is interesting how reviews can differ. George's was recommended by the manager of a local storage facility. I then found Christopher J's review. Allthough then being somewhat torn and having had some terrible moving experiences in the past, I decided to give George's a try. In a three part move - Clifton to Lincoln Park to Montville - I found the opposite of Chris J's complaints - Glen (George) was accessible, reliable and fully responsive - Aaron and John (the movers) were timely, efficient, extraordinarily careful and considerate. I did not spend a dime on extra packing or boxes (the usual movers' ploy). I would say without hesitation that the entire move was done to the highest professional standards, meeting or exceeding the "big names". Without any equivocation, I suggest that you also give George's a try. (The only reason I didn't give a "World Class 5 star" rating is that I presume the same is reserved for no expense spared high end moving - like the President into the White House?)

I wouldn't say its the most professional operation. The staff was friendly, but showed up in a jalopy that barely made it down the street and didn't have a full gate in the back. Additionally, when we moved my furniture into storage we realized there was significant damage to my dresser and headboard. When the workers recognized the damage they called the owner to inform him. The owner said he would get in touch with me to arrange time to fix the damage. Since the move, I have made multiple attempts to get in touch with the owner to have the damage fixed. He never returned my call but when I did get in touch with him he continued to tell me that he had to talk to 'his guy' to set up time. I have made myself available many many times now and they even had the nerve to show me up at the storage place. Its been over a month since my move and no one has fixed my furniture.

I strongly believe in helping out local companies, but this was a complete let down for me. The price of this move was no cheaper than any of the big name moving companies (padded wagon, OZ, etc). In my opinion, stick with the big names.

Thank god nothing happened to my plasma.

Family run business passed down from father to son. The current manager Glenn Trautmann ,son of founders George and Jane Trautmann, takes great pride in running a professional operation. Any other staff that you deal with will also be friendly and professional. The prices are very good and flat rated so they are guarenteed. A top of the line operation.
