Glowing
by J. L.
I came home from the spa and my husband said I was glowing, the only service I had was a pedicure. The guy did my feet and it was amazing, but the glowing part came from an unexpected place, I did not realize until the end of my service but hidden behind the front desk was a tiny puppy, I asked to hold him and his little face just made my day. I was told to look in the mail for a coupon, once I get it I am totally coming back for a massage! The economy is bad but this place is well worth the money.

A great spa..
by Lulu R.
I am thrilled that there is a decent spa (actually beautiful spa) existing in NJ where my friends and I can enjoy wonderful services w/o feeling rushed. Then technicians are excellent and the spa continues to offer all the latest and newest services on the horizon. The problem is with the front desk. Not all, but in particular a tall, super skinny girl who is slow and lazy.I have never seen her smile. Some other girl pays more attention to her cell phone than to her job. As a result Looking Good gets 4 strs instead of five.

Best Facial & Eyebrow Wax in the area!

Yeah! I finally found a place that actually knows how to shape your eyebrows, rather than turning them into a thin little arch. Dorothea is fabulous! Very talented, she always has a smile on her face, and always takes her time with you. AnnaMarie has given me some of the best facials I've ever had. She too is always happy to see you, she treats you and your skin as if they were her friend. Mine has never looked better since going there.

Anyway you look at it, you won't find better...
by Gerri S.
I have to say that I am one of those difficult customers. I want to see results from my facials. I have been around the world in search of a good facialist...JUST ONE. Finally, I tried Lookin Good on a friend's recommendation. The owner (I spoke to her by phone) offered me a 100% money back guarantee if I was not satisfied with my results. I had what is called a custom Medi Facial. Well, I was truly amazed and my friends were truly amazed. Now, this is three months later and I must say that my acne and scarred skin is finally smooth. I had one peel and plan on signing up for a series.Yes, it can be costly but no amoint of makeup/skincare products ie dior orchanel or Lancome etc that I previously purchased has ever made a dent in my condition. This is the first time. I called carolyn (owner) on her cell and told her about my discovery. Hence, I am writing this review. Maybe you don't like the skinny girl at the desk but hey, do you like the results? Even in this economy, at Lookin Good you get what you pay for.

So much better
by Mary Sue F.
I have been going to Looking Good for along time, I have seen bad employees and good ones, things seem to be finally getting better again Anisha you are correct I think the snobby people are gone, the owners daughter is back in there so that's a major difference, she is the heavy set one, having her there ads a cheer to the spa and helps the front desk guy work better. When she is around he seems to pay attention much more, and he seems to actually enjoy his job more. Hopefully things will continue to get better... I hear she may leave soon because she just got married, if so they need to get a real manager in there. I still go there they are the only place around that you can get a real manicure and pedicure!

The Best Spa
by Anisha P.
Alright there are so many spas in my area and not a single one as good as this one. First I came in and a delightful woman welcomed me, she was a nice heavy set girl with such a friendly personality. She brought me a cup off tea and a nice gentleman also heavy set took my coat. I felt important as the treated me like a queen. Then my facial person came down, she was a European gal, I must admit I was scared when I saw her, her face was cracking and it looked like a bad makeup job, she told me about a peel she had and showed me how her face was transforming, I can not wait for my next facial, if she looks good I so want that peel thingy. People say they see snobby skinny whore looking girls at this spa, I saw the opposite.

The Best Spa Around
by sally S.
My girlfriends and I visit many spas. When the Spa at Short Hills closed, we were both delighted and surprised to find a spa of such high caliber right in our own backyard. Granted, their is no Short Hills Mall, but a trip to a few local boutiques satiates our need to shop. When it is time to relax and get really, really pampered, we head for Lookin Good Day-Spa. We love the facials and the blueberry peel made my own husband make a comment at which point I explained the cost of being beautiful...hahaha!Try it for yourself. The services are excellent, the place is beautiful and the espresso is a nice treat. I fell asleep in the pedicure chair.

They come a lot better than this!
by Erica J.
I went in to LG for a massage. Ive been to many differenent spa's and know a good one when I see one. To begin with, I walked in with a smile on my face, excited about my upcoming massage. I was greeted by the receptionist only AFTER I stood there for a good minute waiting for her to at least look up and recognize that I was there. Then I was told that my masseuse would be out shortly and I could wait "over there". So I sat down patiently and watched her go right back to whatever it was she was working on. I quickly got bored of waiting and decided to peruse the accesories. There was another employee that was sitting near the purses and jewelry and I decided to ask her rather than the receptionist how much longer it would be til my masseuse was ready. Thats when she actually got up out of her seat to page my masseuse, which leads me to believe the receptionist hadnt even attempted to let my masseuse know I was there and waiting.
So then i go into my massage room which is very bare and bright (not really calming and comforting like i was expecting) and received what felt like a very rushed massage. She was very nice and asked how the pressure was, but even after I asked her to be a bit more gentle, she still was very rushed in her strokes and was nothing CLOSE to relaxing therapeutic massage Ive experienced from better spa's in the past. This spa offers relatively cheap services, but the quality of the services are accordingly cheap. My suggestion is to spend an additional $10 an hour somewhere else and get your money's worth. I will not go back to LG again.
Oh, and then after all of that, they over charged me by $30. However, when i did call to dispute the amount after I later looked at my receipt, they promptly credited me.

scalp treatment from Nioxin really gets the guck out!!!!!
by Anonymous
My stylist suggested a new treatment for my scalp from Nioxin. It took about 15 minutes and what a difference. Since I use a lot of products and am a frequent shampooer I knew my scalp was not as healthy as it should be. When I noticed my hair starting to look really thin near the scalp, I was sure it was not growing and maybe falling out? I think now it was just all stuck together from environmental guck. After the treatment, my scalp felt really clean and when my hair was dry I could not beleive how soft and healthy my hair felt. The best it has looked an felt in a long time.

Poor customer service
by Anonymous
I stopped going to LG about 1 year ago. I was a loyal customer and moved with them into their new "better" location. I dealt with the price increases, but eventually had to stop going because of the loooooong waits and lack of customer service. The aesthetician I saw-who happened to be the head aesthetician-was always complaining about how late she had to work and how sore her back was. She never failed to charge me about 10% more than the listed prices for service, for no apparent reason. I always waited at least 20 minutes for her at the beginning of every appointment, then another 20 just to pay the incredibly disorganized and unfriendly front desk staff. They do a good job, but they make you feel like you are a chore.

dissapointed
by joyce m.
I got a gift certificate for the spa, that was about to expire. So I went to use it.Upon entering I was greeted by a young woman who should have been working in a go go bar.I was taken to the massage room,it was the worst massage I have gotten.I waited 20 minutes for my pedicure,to find out that the hairstylist was doing my pedicure,at a tune of 45 dollars.I asked for her license that they could not produce.I took my feet out of the tub, dried my feet and off I went. The place looked nice from the outside but the professionalism leaves alot to be desired.I wasted money there but will not go back. A real hell hole!

the whole place is not bad
by Anonymous
The place is actually great and most the people are just avoid the b*tchy girl at the front with the dark multi colored hair and the skinny blonde facial person and then you are in a great place. O and sometimes you need to miss the owner she can be the greatest and the worst all at the same time, overall I think she is a nice good person just seems to be a little hot headed.

OK!

This place is nice, but personally I feel like some of the staff people are snotty. I don't like that especially because I used to be in the service industry. I feel like some people can be much friendlier.

Finally a "real" day spa
by katherine b.
I saw a billboard for this spa and wondered if it was any good. I have been to plenty places that call themself "spas" but are nothing but low end dumps. And knowing something about this area, would it be a good one on Oak Tree Road? Well my boyfriend and I checked it out and to my suprise the place is gorgeous. We had the couples massage and it was so romantic. Also, they give free cappachino &hot chocolate and snacks. We are getting married and I will do services here..even pictures on the BIG staircase like a Princess. Everything is in one place and the staff gets an A++++

Pedicure to die for and a facial after flying
by Anonymous
Just got home from a hellish business trip of 3 days on my feet at a trade show MY FEET WERE KILLING ME!. Called Lookin Good for a pedicure appointment and was lucky someone had a cancellation. It was the best pedicure I ever ever had. NOT a chop shop - I would have paid double it was that good. Wanted a massage but they were completely booked. They did have an oppening for a facial so I took it. Thank God!!! I never realized how bad I look after hanging out in dry hotels and sitting on airplains I was loaded with black heads and dry. My facialist suggested a hydrating medi facial and went to work. I felt soooo good. I also received an amazing massage during the facial of my neck and shoulders. I looked so good and felt so relaxed I booked another appointment and purchased 4 products. I am now using the products and they are amazing. I carry a spritz during my travels and It has completely stopped the black heads from the dry air.
The cost was a little more than I am used to but worth every penny!
As my facialist said, I finally have products that work and she was right.
The pedicure looked beautiful for over two weeks but I still went back for another one because it felt so good

My Graduation Party
by Aileen F.
My family had a totally awesome time at Lookin Good. I was super nervous because there were to be 355 guests at my party. The ownera( I think she is) did my makeup and I looked spectacular as did everyone else she did. Everyone's hair..thanks to Cathy was soooo incredible. I felt like I stepped out of Vogue! My dress had a problem and they were so nice to me and even offered to take it to a seamstress. I recommend this place highly. Thank you for reading my review.

Looking Great
by Susan R.
Wow! This place is great. I had my bachelorette party here and since it is my 2nd marriage, I wanted something different yet cos affordable. The manager pointed out the most cost effective packages. They treated me like a QUEEN and didn't care if I had money or not. They made me feel like the richest lady in the world. Thank you for that.

A response to the teacher
by Anonymous
Subject: SOUR GRAPES
Hello..My friends and I are members of a large church group. We have had many spa parties at Looking Good. The owner, manager and staff have bent over backwards for us. I find it very disturbing when people like you ruin things for others. If you are a teacher than you can surely read the rules. Do you bend your rules? I think not.
LOOKIN GOOD SPA is a beautiful, elegant, top notch spa. Do not hesitate to purchase a gift certificate and be sure to try each and every service. Caroline (the owner) is a perfectionist. Her staff knows their stuff. There are NO SPAS like this around and I am hoping that the sour grapes teachers don't drive them away!
May God bless you all

Beware!
by teacher g.
I have always had a dream, a vision where beauty and wellness come together to create inner peace, inner strength and a sense of immortality, - Caroline Seidner, President, Lookin Good Salon & Day Spa
JUST BE AWARE...THE GIFT CERTIFICATES EXPIRE!!! I have gone to the salon a lot and I have enjoyed everything that I have gotten done there. I loved the my hair color and cut and my facial. The problems come with the Owner and the front desk. One time, I had to wait over and hour for my facial appointment. There was not one apology, nor one effort to make my wait more comfortable. Then, my Mother bought me a gift certificate for another facial for my birthday. My mother was NEVER told that the gift certificates had an expiration date. I had the worst year of my life, dealing with pain and family loss. I finally got the chance to go for a facial this last Friday, a couple of weeks past the expiration date. I was treated with such disrespect, telling me that I was "out of luck," and "how stupid could I be for not checking the expiration date." I am shocked at their lack of customer service. I have been leaving messages for the owner to call me back. I have yet to talk to her, b/c she keeps calling my home line when I leave specific messages for her to call my cell phone. (How convenient of her.) My mother spoke to her and expressed her disappointment, saying that she feels since the money has already been spent, that there is no need for the expiration date. She expressed what awful occurrences we had in our family and that it wasn't exactly the best year to be going to the Spa. The owner, Caroline said that she didn't care what our problems are...that it's our own fault and that is their policy. !!!! We just can't get over this. How can an establishment that is supposed to promote rest, relaxation and rejuvenation treat their customers like this. While I enjoyed the services, there are plenty of other wonderful salons around the area that wouldn't DARE treat their long time customers like this. Please, don't give people like this your hard earned money. These are the types of people, whose money grubbing, selfish attitudes are ruining our society. I am a good, down to earth school teacher who looks forward to my once a year spa days. I'm not judgemental or someone who always complains. That is why I'm trying to warn other people of this place, so that your special days don't get ruined like mine has. Give your money to people who will appreciate it! Have a great day and thanks for reading!

Superb
by jennifer c.
The spa is ina NEW building which is the most beautiful spa I ever saw. Ithas a circular staircase which is great for bridal pix. This is the only place to go for facials because they keep abreast of all the new facials and products. They now have a medi-facial and the products caleld Cosmedix are the only one I ever tried that worked!!
And my hair never looked so shiny!
Thanks for making my skin go from gross to peaches and cream!
Stop by their other location at Lookin Good 2 in RWJ Wellness Center, Scotch Plains. This place belongs in NYC; it's so amazing..

This salon is not the best looking salon out there, but they are very good in terms of their service and prices they charge. The staff is very friendly and they are very skilled at what they do. This place is located in an Indian neighborhood so when you are done, might want to walk around the different restaurants in the area. They are very good!
