I love Kangaroo Kids. My two boys have been going there since they were 6 months old. The lead teachers have been there for years (low turnaround). Every teacher knows every child and vice versa. I was looking for a daycare that my kids would be HAPPY at and I haven't been disappointed. It has a real family feel. Its true that its not so clean that it feels sterile as some others I looked at where the teachers were so busy cleaning they didn't pay attention to the kids, but its cleaner than my house. The school is also great at teaching in a way that makes it fun for the kids. I'm amazed at what my sons have learned. The newest member of our family will start attending in a few months. People suggest that a nanny would be less expensive, but I can't imagine our kids not at Kangaroo Kids.
Both of my children have been at Kangaroo Kids since they were babies. My husband and I checked out several area day cares, and chose Kangaroo Kids without hesitation.
Our kids are happy and well-cared-for there. They have fun while learning age-appropriately. Traditional academics are important, but they are not the exclusive focus. The children also learn self-confidence, social skills, creativity, self-expression, etc.
The school offers a wide variety of extracurriculars (e.g., cooking, swimming, karate, computers) and schedules interesting field trips (e.g., aquariums, museums, indoor gyms, zoos, nature preserves, the local planetarium).
The director and staff show tremendous affection and patience with all the kids there - they treat them with respect and celebrate their individuality. They're enthusiastic about what they do, and attentive to both parents and children.
Any time of day, you can walk in the door, and the place just sounds happy and lively (well, maybe not at naptime, when it just sounds restful and subdued).
I love Kangaroo Kids and so do my kids. The director and teachers are wonderful! The low turnover of staff results in much needed consistency for the children. They have always been supportive and flexible to our situation which is so important. The classroom activities are very well rounded with a variety of enrichment programs including swimming, cooking classes, karate, soccer (with an excellent soccer coach!) computer classes, jump bunch, and many more as well as well run field trips! It's truly a wonderful place for children!

I have been associated with Kangaroo kids for over 4 years now and highly recommend it. The only school in the neighbourhood where you can walk in any time of the day, watch your kids class in progression and ask a question any time and it will be answered.I have rarely had a cause to complain and even if I did, it has been duly heard and attended to. Both my girls have spent a greater part of their primary years with the kindest teachers I have met and it has been a source of comfort to know that they are greeted with the same familiar faces every new term as the teacher retention is fabulous. The new teaching curriculum this pre-k has worked really well for my child.

My children came to Kangaroo Kids from another center that was not flexible. Kangaroo Kids were flexibile to my schedule and fantastic with my children. My children spent 3 years at Kangaroo Kids and were care for wonderfully. The teachers and the director were fabulous to us. My children learned and excelled so much through the direction of the teachers. I would recommend this school to anyone that was looking for a center that will care and love and teach your children as they were there own.

I have been a huge fan of Kangaroo Kids for 11years my daughter has been a part of Kangaroo Kids since she was 6wks old she is now 9yrs. The staff is fantastic as well as the director. I felt that the teachers cared how my child felt and made her comfortable and she felt at home. I have gone into centers and the teacher along with the director did not even make eye contact they just wanted to know what made me happy. They did not make my daughter happy at all they only wanted to add to their enrollment. At Kangaroo kids my child learned she learned from the messy project right down to the cleanest. She wanted to be there even on the days that the center was closed and that meant alot.So to everyone who bad mouthed the center on this site. You weren't looking for a place that was right for your child, you were looking for a place that was right for you. Remember your child needs to feel happy and safe in a center to foster their growth as a person.

We've been part of the Kangaroo Kids family for 4 years and have been very pleased! I feel that my kids' teachers genuinely care about their emotional, physical, social and intellectual well-being! They want the best for every youngster that walks through the door. As a parent, I feel a strong sense of community there. And I think that's invaluable!

As the saying goes "you can't please everyone" but they have sure pleased me over the years. Both my girls attend Kangaroo Kids and I am extremely pleased with the school. Whomever said the teachers are inexperienced should do a little more homework. They have done a great job to prepare my older daughter for Kindergarten.Their curriculum follows the same as the public schools. My younger one has become more social and creative. The staff is pleasant, accommodating and caring. I would HIGHLY recommend Kangaroo Kids.

My kids have been at this school for the past several years and Kangaroo Kids is an excellent place for children to learn both academically and socially. The head teacher for each of my children's rooms were with the school for at least 5 years; some 10+. This is a very child-focused school and the teachers collaborate with parents on a daily basis concerning the child's progress. I disagree with the other posts that the school is dirty or overcrowded. I've found it to be clean, unless paint and shaving cream and other sign of creative, happy children are offensive to you. This place becomes like family. If you want your child to be well nurtured inside and out then this is your place.

Great school! It was just awarded #1 in America by the National Child Care Association (NACCP). My children received an outstanding education in a caring environment. The school was clean and in good condition. I visited many schools and they had the lowest staff turnover of any school in the area and were very family friendly.
First of all this place is overcrowded and messy. There is no waiting list. I called in February, no problem with enrollment. My neighbor called in October 2007 and they took 2 kids without any waiting list. I have no idea how they became a NAEYC School. My kid was in this place for 4 weeks. Enough. I felt that the teachers were only interested in getting through the day and were not interested in interacting with the children in a positive way.
PROS: Principal
CONS: Very expensive; filthy classrooms, rude teachers, too many kids in the groups; hard to park a car in the morning; teachers change frequently; not organized

Stay away from this place. The owner is nice but the the teachers have no qualifications whatsoever (except 2 of them). The teacher's 'helpers' are the girls from the Raritan Community College. There is a huge rotation. So many kids in the classrooms. You have to go through other classrooms to get to your kid's classroom. The playground is so small and dirty. The classrooms are no so clean either. Very small parking lot so you waist your time in the morning because you have to drive around and look for a parking space for a few minutes. Many parents withdraw their kids during the school year. Don't waist you time and money.

I had plenty of time to compare centers in the area. Only 1, KangarooKids met my needs. Comparably priced, a NAEYC School, low staff turnover and the curriculum used is the same as the local school district. I like the open door policy for parents and also the security methods in place for safety.
This school has been in Branchburg since 1997 and was in another smaller location in South Plainfield before. My third child is currently attending and just loves it. 2 neighbors kids go as well and its now like family!
PROS: Staff is always available as well as the Director
CONS: Waiting List(but they work to accomodate your needs)
First of all they are painfully overpriced and secondly i found my daughters teachers to be rude and unattentive with the children there. I didnt like how things were set up or their learning system in general. I pulled my daughter out of this place quickly and got her in a much better nursery school. Not to mention this place was kind of messy and not well taken care of.
