This was a very comfortable setting for us and our dog. I felt like I went back in time to when I was a child and going to my doctor who made me feel comfortable and relaxed. We had never been there before with our 5 year old dog who is like a child to us. The other vet we took him to was very compitent and friendly but nothing like Dr.Herz and his lovely wife who is his assistent. They were very informative to the questions we had and in a very private setting. I highly recommend his services to every pet owner. I saw many photo`s of all kinds of pet`s. I am almost 60 and this really was the first time I actually enjoyed taking a pet to the vet!!! Oh yes, their prices are very reasonable. THE BEST!!!

Dr. Herz is a wonderful veterinarian who I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a compassionate, highly skilled, reasonably priced veterinarian. Unfortunately I had to have my older cat euthanized and I was grateful to be able to get an appointment the same day I called. Dr. Herz performed the procedure in the most humane manner and his wife who assisted, was kind and compassionate as well. I highly recommend Dr. Herz to anyone looking for an excellent, old fashioned veterinarian.

A couple of years ago we purchased our dog from a local shop. Unfortunately she was very sick which we were unaware of. She was seen by our vet and was said to be un-fit for sale. Due that we were unaware that she was so sick we were unprepared for high vet bills at that time. The store that we got her from recommended we used her vet and we wouldn't have to pay up front. When we got to Dr. Herz office it was in the back of a house in a garage. We went in and it was a very small office covered in pictures from the 70s of wild animals such as eagles. It was covered in wood paneling smelling of mold with 1920s music playing. His wife escorted to the exam room where we met a very unfriendly gray haired, Dr. Herz. The room was filled with old rusty dented epipment. He tried to get our puppies rectal temperture with a human therometer. She was terrified and jumped into my arms. Dr. Herz then proceeded to diagnose her without any significant testing and gave her pills for a small manialla envelope without any labeling on it. Needless to say we will never return to this vet that has a odd resemblence to the texas chain saw masacre movies.

This hospital is actually a converted garage behind the vet's house. At first, I was not impressed with the vet as he seemed very unfriendly. His wife is the assistant and she is definitely more personable. However, there are a few good things about this hospital. Their fees are very reasonable. I bought some meds and when I checked the price on the internet, his price was just a few cents more. So, it goes to show that the vet is not out to make a killing. His fees for vaccination and diagnosis are also very reasonable. I compared the fees he charge to neuter a small dog with another animal hospital close by and the difference was $100!!! So, besides being a little weird and unfriendly, this vet is a good honest guy who doesn't charge us an arm or a leg to take care of our pet.

I took a kitty I rescued to the Allentown Hospital after having had her at another vet. Whata difference. She was starved, had mites and fleas and had had her tail severed somehow. The original vet couldn't really find the time to discuss her with me even when it was very apparent I was extremely worried. Allentown was great - talked to me like 3 times in one day!
