I don't know what Willie's barber shop is about. But if Willie is good that's good. But did any one listen to this young lady she said Janet glued her hair. She asked for braids when do you glues braids to the hair. Did the stylist pick up the WRONG JAR? Wow if that was me um um um. I read all the reviews and I will not go to this shop. A good owner would have made sure that his customers come 1st and a good hair stylist would have admitted that she was wrong someone needs to pay for the damaged. For the young lady that wrote back listen up sis that hair stylist is WRONG . By the way is that the place with the food truck outside. Once I saw that I would have stayed away.So my sis hope your hair is back to beauty,

Wow I am really sorry about what happened to you but I think it is fair to say that all over the world someone has had a hair horror story. I just saw on Tyra's Top Model that one of the Models who were part of the show was burned badly by one of the Top Salons in the world. Everyone is Different. I live in Flordia now but I started going to Willies Shop when it was only a Babershop. My boys received their first hair cut there when they were five. Willie cut it. My oldest is now 25 years old and works for the Government. The staff is wonderful, kind, fun. A few years ago I moved to Maryland and my stylist there was Cliff at the time oh my Gosh could he rock the hair. The shop had great hours and they were so good at doing my hair after they turned into Willies His and Hers, that I used to wake up at 5am and drive two hours to New Jersey from Maryland just to get my hair done there. When getting it done by Cliff at Willies it never came out it grew long and I did't have to do anything to it until the next time. Willie is like a Big Dad there. It is a family atmosphere and he had done a lot to the shop. The women stylists there also were wonderful and do a great job and are fun, they can do any type of hair there. At Willie's Shop there was a person named Clay, Clay cut my Dad's hair until he died last year. He had Alzheimers and they treated he and my 83 year old Mother so good. I would try them again if I were you. Willies is like the movie Babershop and Willie although he gets paid is a no nonsense guy who has truly come a long long way. I hope your hair is nice now and thanks for taking me back to a blask from the past. When I saw the name I had to write. Sheila Lockhart

I went to the salon April 19th to have my hair braided, the stylist's name was Janet. I repeatedly told her that the braids that she was placing in my hair were extremely tight & causing me pain. She placed mousse in my hair & placed dryer heat on it, causing the pain to intensify. When I returned home, the pain was so intense immediately removed the braids. As I removed the braids, my scalp was swollen. There was glue on each braid, so my hair ripped as the braids came out. I went to my stylist in Phila. April 20th to repair the damage. She needed to cut 3-4 inches of my hair in order to remove the glue. She stated that my scalp will most likely remain swollen & tender for a few weeks I returned to the salon the following evening & asked to speak with the owner, I was told that he already left for the day. I explained my situation to her & provided her with a bag a hair that that was cut & broken off with the glue. Janet stated that she did not put glue in my hair, I then showed her the bag of my hair with the glue attached to it. She stated that it if it were so painful for me, how did my stylist do my hair, I stated that it would be unprofessional for me to go to work with unkempt hair & I would have caused more damage attempting to fix it myself, so I went to a professional. I returned to Willie's Hair Salon April 21st & spoke to the owner. He stated that after speaking to Janet he could only have HER place the braids back in free of charge or have another stylist do it. The owner stated that is against the law to make a reimbursement for services rendered & asked that I come back. I offered to provide him with the number of the stylist who fixed my hair so that she could relay to him the condition my hair and scalp was in; the owner refused. Do not go to Willie's His and Hers. I thought the owner was a kind and understanding man, but I was gravely mistaken, I reported the incident to the Better Business and Consumer Affairs.

Cons: Stylists and owner do not care about consumer complaints with proof!

I have been going to Willies over 20 years! It is wonderful, the owner will get rid of a non professional stylist, I now take all my children, they have a beauty and barber shop all in one, and not to mention, I buy all my hair care products there at the beauty supply store!
I love it

I am not one who frequents hair salons. I usually do mine and my daughters hair myself. So for me to decide on a salon, I want one that will be reliable and able to do what I can't. I decided that taking my daughter to a salon could encourage growth and hair strength, so I began taking her to Willies every 2 weeks. On our third returning visit, the scheduled hair stylist was not there. After waiting for almost 40 minutes for her to arrive to work, and the staff trying to contact her, my daughter was switched to another stylist. It was more than a little disappointing being that I had explained to her how we wanted a salon that we could get to know and I was hoping to build up a trust with this salon. Her lack of interest in showing up that day discouraged me enough that we have not returned since---unprofessional. Also disappointing was the fact that she seemed geniunely interested in my daughter's hair initially. She wrote her name down in a book to record when her last visit was, when her last relaxer was, when she would need a conditioning treatment, etc. To not be there means she could not follow-through. I know people occasionally have unforseen things happen, but not even her manager knew where she was and we waited a very long time. I am now back to doing her hair myself again!

I have gone here several times , the place is great and they do very good work . staff is very friendly, However I do think that there prices have gone up a little too much. Even though the service is awesome, and they do an amazing job, I don't think that the new patrons coming in are going to be happy with there prices.

This a good place to get your hair done. But the Barbershop is not chaep although they do a good job. I do think they are a little rough b/c I remember coming out with red marks on my back neck. The place is clean and fresh so i do reccomend it.

My husband has been getting his hair cut at Willies since he was a little boy. He now takes my son along with him. They have a very comfortable atmosphere inside this shop. The hairdresser section up front and the barber shop in the back all have several customers who have been coming in for years. Prices are still pretty low compared to some other local shops in the area.
