.

West Jersey Animal Shelter has been closed since 1/26/06.
Forced to close by the state and county and township. The owner
of the shelter did not have the money to improve the shelter,
and the health department used everything possible to make the '
shelter look bad.
But besides the old and not so pretty kennel, and not up to date
fixtures, the animals who were kenneled there were loved and
received the best care by a volunteer group who loved them all, and worked 24/7 to take care of them.
The group vetted all the sick animals that mostly came in sick because their owners didn't care about them.
The euthanasia rate was the lowest of all the shelters that took
in animals from animal control, for 7 yrs.
And when the shelter closed in January of 2006, all the animals
were either adopted, went to other shelters or rescues, all except
one dog who was not adoptable.
So if you are looking to adopt a dog, please try one of the other
shelters in Camden County, or write the volunteer group from WJAS, wjvolunteers@yahoo.com.
